Each was enjoying a generous tankard of Elven Ginger Ale as ElGon recounted his recent profits and losses from his Madness Wagerz booth in the light of Venus Trap Hammer having graduated from Morya Arena and now Black Rose Hammer having received her graduation notice from the Gladiatorial Commission. "Things look bad enough for my future wagering efforts what with the dismal records of Briar Stem Hammer, Thorn Stem Hammer and Poison Ivy Hammer," sputtered ElGon as he poured more Elven Ginger Ale for himself and his friends. "But this poor excuse for a warrior Stink Moss Hammer should be dispatched immediately to the Dark Arena in favor of a possibly better replacement. Would you not agree GrimmDorr?" The Dwarven Gladiator Trainer scratched his beard thoughtfully and grunted before taking another swig from his tankard. He set a wary eye towards ElGon and raised an eyebrow towards his friend Hammer. The veteran manager sipped his tankard seemingly absent mindedly, forcing the Dwarf to speak his mind before Hammer would decide what to do with the new recruit that the Gladiatorial Commission had sanctioned as a replacement for the graduated Ripper. "I suppose most managers would dispatch the new meat to the Dark Arena without batting an eye," snorted the Dwarf as he inhaled his drink and exhaled an amused sigh, "but we all know that friend Hammer is quite unpredictable when it comes to decisions regarding his stable fodder for the arena sands!" Hammer gripped his tankard of Elven Ginger Ale with both hands as he gazed thoughtfully at the gladiator trainer, his eyes hidden within his Elven Cloak of Concealment as the veteran manager chuckled to himself. "I suppose I could make something of this new recruit," snorted GrimmDorr as he slowly and deliberately drained his tankard before sliding it across the table in the direction of the fuming Half Elf. "Besides, friend ElGon will find a way to make a profit from this stinker Stink Moss Hammer whether she lives or dies!" ElGon glared at the Warrior Dwarf as he poured another round for his friend, then slid the tankard back towards GrimmDorr before turning his attention to the veteran manager who always had the final say in these matters when Hammer was gathered with them. As the Half Elf played with a handful of gold coins, Hammer leaned forward in such a manner that precluded the veteran manager had indeed reached a final decision on the matter that could possibly prolong the life of this new recruit that did not seem to have much of a successful future as an arena gladiator in the Flowered Hammerz stable. "This new recruit Stink Moss Hammer intrigues me," purred the veteran manager as he took another slow, but thoughtful, sip from his tankard of Elven Ginger Ale. "Perhaps the replacement for Black Rose Hammer will be better suited for a winning record than this potential Dark Arena meat seems to offer my stable. Nonetheless, she will serve a purpose yet unknown to me. I can feel it in my bones!" GrimmDorr and ElGon nodded their consent as they caught the gleam in the eye of the veteran manager, then began pounding the table with their fists and tankards as all three friends roared with hearty laughter at the decision each knew was inevitable. "I will dispatch Black Rose Hammer to the Dark Arena instead," said Hammer matter-of-factly as he pushed his tankard towards ElGon for another round of the delicious Elven Ginger Ale that the veteran manager was so fond of drinking. "You should be able to turn quite a profit at your Madness Wagerz booth when your clients discover that the reigning DuelMistress fights by torch light with her favorite weapon instead of the Great Axe that has killed the unfortunate Blood Hawk of Dodge Bullets and defeated all of her recent opponents since her ascension to the Morya Arena Throne!" ElGon jumped up on the table and danced a victory jig, his face brightened with glee at the prospect of fleecing some treasure from the unexpected Dark Arena Challenge sanctioned by the veteran manager. This also meant more coin from his clients as they would make their bets upon who would be matched for a Title Battle and who the new Morya Arena DuelMaster would be in the wake of Black Rose Hammer vacating the Throne via the Dark Arena! GrimmDorr snorted and guffawed until he fell out on the floor with uncontrollable laughter at the sight of the Half Elf rejoicing over his unexpected good fortune. Once the merriment had subsided, Hammer the Morya MadMan raised his tankard of Elven Ginger Ale to his friends and proclaimed, "Send Stink Moss Hammer to the Sisters of the Sword Sanctum Sanctorum to Begin Her Adventure on the Morya Arena Sands!" [TIME JUMP] The blonde haired, green eyed Venus Trap Hammer introduced the shy and seemingly intimidated Stink Moss Hammer to her new sisters, hidden somewhere in the bowels of the massive tunnel complex deep beneath Hammerz Flowered Gardenz Morya Manor Estate on the Lake in their exclusive Sisters of the Sword Sanctum Sanctorum. It was the duty of the newly graduated Ripper to acquaint her replacement with her teammates and to help orient her to her new surroundings, plus instruct her as to her duties as a newly anointed Sister of the Sword. The black haired, blue eyed Slasher who was testing the mettle of a newly forged Battle Axe would soon follow the same ritual with her new replacement, once Black Rose Hammer had faced the Dark Arena Monster she was to face by Torch Light. She counted it an honor and a privilege to be called upon for the unexpected Dark Arena Challenge! Stink Moss Hammer was welcomed into the fold by Briar Stem Hammer, Thorn Stem Hammer and Poison Ivy Hammer excitedly describing the rigors of the gladiator training overseen by GrimmDorr the Warrior Dwarf that the new recruit would be subjected to in the matter of a few short minutes! Venus Trap Hammer handed her replacement a specially engraved weapon from the weapon room to begin her training and to prepare for her first Morya Arena sand dance. "Uuuuhhh... how do I use this weapon?" questioned Stinkk Moss Hammer as she quizzically gazed around the room at her new teammates. "Uuuuhhh... who can show me... what to do... with this... thingie?" The chamber was immediately filled with musical laughter and giggles from her Sisters of the Sword as they watched Stink Moss Hammer trying to fathom the use of the weapon that Venus Trap Hammer had selected for her. "GRIMMDORR WILL SHOW YOU NOW," bellowed the Warrior Dwarf as he beckoned his new charge to follow him to her private training chamber! [TIME JUMP] SomeWhere in a Dark Dimension BeYond the Realms of ElseWhere and ElseWhen a Goblinoid Commander was trembling with increasingly greater trepidation under the continual interrogation of his Commanding Officer: "So this Hammer managed to escape our traps after discovering we have the means to transverse our armies between dimensions?" The Goblinoid Commander hung his head, trembling in terror, as he mumbled some sort of incoherent response... before being hacked to pieces by his Commanding Officer who simultaneousy spewed forth the following order amidst the splattered gore: "Make Ready a War Party to Pursue this Hammer... WherEver He Maay Be!" [TIME JUMP] Venus Trap Hammer and Black Rose Hammer were ushered into the War Room Chamber somewhere beneath the Hammerz Flowered Shoppe to meet with the veteran manager before the Slasher was to make her way to the nearby Morya Arena for her impending Dark Arena Challenge! "I have a Special Mission for the two of you to spearhead for me the day after tomorrow... or at least within the next few days," explained Hammer as he greeted each of the newly anointed Lady Protectors with a fatherly kiss on the forehead. The Ripper and the Slasher looked at each other and then back to the veteran manager as Hammer continued his unexpected explanation: "There is a threat of danger in the air... and... I needeed to dispatch a small... war party... from the Dwarfs Militia... ia to investigate... and quite possibly... eliminate nate... the danger... if what I suspect... is true! Therefoerefore... One of you... will be appointed Leader... and thnd the other... as Second in Command... but I know not... ib if this mission... will keep you free... from death... since you both will be... far removed... from the Grey Lady dy... and her Isle... of Immortality!" Venus Trap Hammer and Black Rose Hammer each gracefully bowed to the veteran manager and swore their allegiance to both Hammer and one another to fulfill the mission that they would be entrusted to undertake. "By defeating Crictor Ungerer from the stable of Le Pentarque b& in such a convincing manner... Venus Trap Hammer has proven hersself worthy of the leadership role for this mission... however... I will give Black Rose Hammer the honor... if she proves herselff worthy... by slaying the Dark Arena Monster... convincingly ly enough for my Dwarfs Militia... to follow... to theo the death... if need be... no matter what dangers... they they may face... should it be... unexpected... and perhapsrhaps quite... necessary...." Hammer Minister of War Crimson Crusader Morya MadMan + ]H[ + ---:--- + ]H[ At the Gate of Hell ]H[ + ---:--- + ]H[ + Where things stood when I ran out of steam and time several months ago: The laws that bind the Spirit Land have been violated and the passage of the souls of the dead into their proper realms is being interfered with. Many souls are vanishing entirely, rendering them unavailable for resurrection or rebirth. Ahringol, who is the god of the Dead and not of death, is alarmed, shamans are alarmed, many priests and magicians are alarmed. Suspicion fell naturally on the practitioners of necromantic magic. Interfering with souls is, after all, what they do. That problem, however, is not new--there have always been necromancers, and a few souls have always fallen to them over the ages. Now, though, the scale is wholly new, and investigation finally placed the center of the problem in Kurukar, in the court of the Black Kaliv. Attempts to infiltrate that court and discover the identity of the perpetrator have so far failed, with the infiltrators vanishing or falling wholly under the control of the dark mage. The situation was further complicated by an increase in the presence and activities of Dark Creatures, intruders into the Waking World from uncharted dimensions beyond the Spirit Land. A plan was conceived. First, it was determined that the Dark Creatures were coming through a Door that should have been sealed. While not actually in Kurukar, the Door in question was believed to have connections with that place. If the Door could be closed and sealed again, this would reduce the flood of Dark Creatures to the former trickle and, possibly, reduce the power of the main Necromancer involved. The Door could only be approached through the Spirit Land, and that journey would be dangerous, more than dangerous. Three parties set out to reach the Door, taking three different routes, in the hopes that some of them would arrive. The gladiators Redfox of Dullens and Blackwind of Malcorn, the gladiators Young Joan of Morya and Necromancer (called Necroma to distinguish her from the enemy) of Lin Tirian. The gladiator Math op Owan of Murska, the manager-shaman Uncle Wolf, and the Lord of Malcorn himself, who alone of them has the power to seal the Door once it is closed, have successfully reached the Door. And there matters were left. Now we continue.... The gladiators all stared at each other with relief. Redfox had an impulse to hug someone--Young Joan or Necroma for choice--but hesitated. Joan he knew slightly, and she was not one to allow liberties. She grinned and hugged him quickly, then the older gladiator, Math op Owain, and cast a speculative look at Uncle Wolf, who scowled. Blackwind had no such qualms and threw a friendly arm around Necroma. He looked at Wolf and Lord Malcorn. "What happens now?" Malcorn looked across the valley at the Door. It was huge, twenty or thirty feet tall and nearly as wide, the two halves standing open on flame-shot darkness. No living creatures were visible. "Now we shut the Door," he said, "and there will be resistance--" "Should you say that?" Necroma asked. "Expectations shape what we meet in the Spirit Land, and you could be creating trouble just by expecting it." "Some trouble exists here without a mortal's expectations," Uncle Wolf said. "And we are no longer precisely in the Spirit Lands. Here in the Valley, the rules change again." She groaned. "I really hate that. I wish the rules would just... be what they are, whatever they are, and not change when someone takes two steps in a different direction! How can you plan anything if--" "You develop a knack for it," the old shaman said, "or you get into a different line of work." Blackwind saw that the young woman was going to argue further and spoke quickly to cut her off; they didn't need arguments here and now. "One thing I've been wondering. I understand about the different routes to make sure at least some of us got here. But you and Lord Malcorn are the only ones who know how to close this Door--I'm guessing it isn't just a case of walking up and swinging it shut. If you didn't make it, what would be the point in us arriving?" "You would have figured something out," Uncle Wolf said. "Each of you was chosen--by me or by circumstances--because you are a person who finishes any job he begins. Or she begins," he added quickly, seeing Young Joan frown. Lord Malcorn sighed and straightened, seeming even taller now than his seven- and-a-half foot height. Darker than his black hair and swarthy skin had seemed when Blackwind had seen him on the streets back in Malcorn. There, he had been affectionately known to his subjects as "Blackie." Here... with some kind of power rising in him, he could only be Lord Malcorn. He was beginning to look big enough and strong enough to close that massive Door unaided. "They're coming," he said. Without thought, responding to the same trained impulse, every gladiator present drew his or her sword, turning to face outward from their group. Blackwind more than half expected to see floods demons and monsters pouring toward them from every direction. If so, they must be invisible, all he could see were the shadows that filled the valley. He squinted. "Is it my imagination, or is it getting darker here?" That would be bad. Darkness would make it harder to fight. "Valley of Shadow," Math op Owain said. "We should have realized--" "So you should," Uncle Wolf answered. "In this place, the shadows are as dangerous as what casts them." "More dangerous," Lord Malcorn corrected. The old shaman shrugged and nodded. "Perhaps. At that level of danger, the distinction is unimportant." "How do we fight shadows?" Redfox asked. "You must have had something in mind, or you wouldn't have drawn us here." "The light is behind the... creatures that cast the shadows," Wolf pointed out. "That makes the shadows advance toward you, ahead of the creatures. You must make of yourselves lights to drive the shadows back on their creators." "How can we--?" "No, 'Fox, I think I see what he means!" Math drew the gladiators aside. "Come over out of the way, and I'll tell you. Let them deal with the Door." "He's right," Necroma said before Math could begin his explanation. "We *are* lights if we know it." She paused, selecting words. "Here, even if it isn't exactly the Spirit Lands, the spirit is what matters the most. Sure, we're here physically-- and we can die physically--but just as the body dominates in the Mortal World, so the spirit dominates here. If our spirits are strong and bright, they'll be like lights here!" "That's easy to *say*, and it sounds good," Blackwind objected, "but what are we supposed to *do*?" "It's like... ah! Like the meditation exercises they teach us on the Isle, to increase our Will or our Wit," Math said. "That kind of focus, but we concentrate on light and life and warmth--" "Well put," Necroma said. "And we'd better do it right now." "Not forgetting," Young Joan was actually beginning to glow as she concentrated, "that we will have to deal with physical creatures once we have vanquished the shadows." * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * ---===SLOW ARENA NEWS===--- Duelmasters ----------- DM 8 ARKERS (turn 326): DEAD LEE of YOU PAY I SLAY (Khisant, mgr.) Farewell to the Minions of Morya Arena -- This is my last opportunity to enjoy the View from the Top before I go to the Dark Arena! Hammer seems to think that it would be more sporting for me to make the Dark Arena Challenge and leave the Morya Arena Throne vacated for the winner of this turn's Title Battle and I agree! Ironically, it seems I have recently defeated all my opponents with a Great Axe and it turns out that I am actually naturally adept with the Battle Axe! Plus I have only achieved an Advanced Expert rating in both Initiative and Attack skills! Not too bad for a 12-13-7-15-16-10-11 Slasher! I also have a Fighting Rhythm which favors a Very High Offensive Effort and a Low Activity Level, while having an innate sense for learning the forms of Defensive Actions! Hammer points out that his newly graduated Ripper possesses the same innate sense as me! Venus Trap Hammer 15-13-7-21-7-4-17 is naturally adept with the ShortSword and favors a Low Offensive Effort and a Low Activity Level, while achieving an Expert rating in Initiative, a Master rating in Riposte and Advanced Expert ratings in Attack, Parry and Defense! She and I seem to be the Best of the Bunch as our Sisters of the Sword in the Lower Brackets all have losing records! Stink Moss Hammer is scheduled to make her arena debut as I make my exit via the Dark Arena and from what Hammer, GrimmDorr and ElGon have to say about her it would be a surprise if she manages a winning record or even survives on the Morya Arena sands! Hopefully my replacement will be able to continue the legacy of a winning tradition and battle her way to the Morya Arena Throne! Hammer has been hinting that perhaps Venus Trap Hammer and yours truly (Black Rose Hammer) will be sent out on a special mission since we are both now immune to death as newly anointed Lord Protectorates! For those of you who may be griping or raising an eyebrow at my lengthy discourse, may I remind you that from the looks of my teammates, it may be many long months or perhaps even a year or two before another Flowered Hammerz gladiator is able to ascend the Morya Arena Throne to Enjoy the View from the Top! My Special Thanks to every gladiator who made it possible for me to graduate! Now I must prepare to Battle by Torch Light and score one more Kill than my sister Venus Trap Hammer! -- Black Rose Hammer, the newly anointed Lady Protectorate now vacating the Morya Arena Throne SPY REPORT Well, what are you looking at, MORYA? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Now keep the taverns open late tonight, for there are sorrows to drown for PHANTACITY, whose 0-0-0 this turn dropped them by 6 into 9th. Ha! MY GENERATION turned their 2-2-0 turn into a 3rd place rank in the listings this turn. Any better than this, and you get put on hit lists. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see THORN STEM HAMMER win a fight and gain 25 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, THORN STEM HAMMER beat CLOUDRIDER and CLOUDRIDER lost 19 points. You're breakin' my heart. Going for broke or broken, our Duelmaster SHEWISH GIANT Dark Arena Challenged this turn. The crowds were amazed this turn, as SHEWISH GIANT killed the Duelmaster, BLACK ROSE HAMMER, leaving FLOWERED HAMMERZ in mourning. This incredible death has allowed, I might add, TEZCATLIPOCA from THE PENTARCHY to ascend to the throne of Duelmaster, and I hear DARK ARENA is not happy. Salty's Chowder House, humph! I've tasted better ale at mortuaries. Where do they get this stuff? From MORYA's trash dumps? He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day, the coward. MORYA, I am losing what little hope I had in you. FORCE OF FIVE the most avoided team? What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And it looks like SONS OF MARS avoided them the most this turn. What a pack of would be losers, if you ask me. Hmph. Ooh, I'm frightfully impressed, TAXES was this turn's most challenged warrior. Watch that ego swell, sports fans. I guess I can give a little credit to POSTAGE of EXPENSE ACCOUNT for challenging up by 20 to CASCELLA. POSTAGE lost to get 57 points of recognition. Some people like volunteer work in the hospitals. I volunteer for MORYA's morgue. More variety. Nipped in the bud, you might say, was PAINTBALL JUNKY of MY GENERATION this turn. Course, I wouldn't say that, so much as have a belly laugh. Heh heh. It's about time THERIAULT got beat for picking on warriors like POP TARGET. Bravo, DODGE BULLETS. See you at Salty's Chowder House. A big yahoo goes out to PUBLIUS CLAUDIUS this turn, for revenging SONS OF MARS' bloodfeud against MY GENERATION's warrior PAINTBALL JUNKY. Heh, heh, heh. We're all going to die in the end, so why worry if the fate catches up with you sooner that later? I was about to buy a new quill pen the other day, but some fighter took it for an epee. Forgive me for writing with a dagger. Just wait 'till next time I show up here, I won't be so nice! So nyaaah! This is so frustrating! -- Madeline Garrot -- I don't have a problem with garrots, I just throw 'em in the pot with the other veggies, cook 'em up, and then, ahem, throw them out. Or feed them to my horse. My horse is quite fond of garrots. -- Lily of Sarmatia Cincinnatus -- How come you're not Roman? The Commission lists that. Strictly speaking, it isn't a race, much less a species, but what the hey. -- Cloudrider Brz -- Ah... shouldn't you have a vowel in there somewhere? -- Gopher Broke the confused Marcus Marcellus -- Aha! Anyone may participate; known alliances, new alliances, or temporary alliances created solely to compete in the Turf War! To participate, each alliance must: 1. Announce the Captain of the alliance in the North Fork (DM 47) newsletter. 2. Indicate in the newsletter which Captain/alliance you will join. 3. Announcements made on the D2 Forums or elsewhere will not be accepted. Captains are responsible for: 1. Verifying/authorizing, in the North Fork newsletter those who wish to participate under the banner of their alliance. (Lack of participant indication of joining and/or lack of lack of Captain confirmation will delay a team's participation in the Turf War.) 2. Distribution of prizes should their alliance win the Turf War. 3. Submit two (2) RSI Roll-Up Certificates to participate. (Note: Captains may, if they wish, submit certs for all potential members of their alliance.) Participating managers who are not Captains must: 1. Submit two (2) RSI Roll-Up Certificates to participate (Unless already submitted by Captain. Note: extras will not be returned, but will go into the winning pool of prizes.) 2. Announce their intent to compete with manager name, team name, and alliance they will represent in the North Fork (DM 47) newsletter. Announcement made on the D2 Forums will not be accepted. a. No scores will be tabulated until an RSI Gift Certificate is received, and participant indication and captain confirmation are posted in the North Fork newsletter. NO EXCEPTIONS. b. Before a manager can compete, he/she must declare themselves in the North Fork (DM 47) newsletter as stated above AND be verified in the newsletter by the alliance Captain they will represent. c. Only one (1) team per player may compete. No multiple teams or aliases will be allowed. Violations will result in immediate disqualification (including team point adjustments) from the Turf War (so be sure to take any multiple teams OFF of Team Maintenance and be certain not to run any other team warriors). d. Scoring will NOT be retroactive for teams/alliances that do not properly declare or get captain confirmation or fail to send a Gift Certificate by Turn 1. In other words, if your Gift Certificate is not received until Turn 3 of the Turf War, and you have fought on Turns 1 and 2, your score will not begin until Turn 3. All conditions must be met before scoring will begin--declaration, verification, and Gift Certificate received. e. No declarations or verifications will be accepted after Turn 5 of the Turf War. f. For purposes of scoring, the moderators will score the Turf War and settle any and all disputes as they arise. Their decisions will be final. (Note: the intent is to have a very thorough set of rules so that few decisions, if any, are required from the moderators.) Scoring will be as follows for Fights: Win Loss Kill Die Up Challenge +2 -2 +5 -5 Down Challenge 0 -2 0 -5 Match Up +1 -1 +1 -5 Bloodfeud Challenge (Up or Down) +2 -5 +5 -10 Champion ** x2 x2 x2 x2 Dark Arena* +10 -5 xx xx Tournament Death*** -5 Halfway (6 round total) best alliance win/loss percentage **** Final (12 round total) alliance w/l% percentage **** *After 2nd win in DA, warrior scores no additional points for wins, ** A Champion's double score applies to his score only -- not to the opponent. *** No warrior may be substituted without the proper use of the DA or arena death or death in a tournament. There must be a maximum of five only on a team at any point and time. (The penalty for such substitution is -10 points.) Points awarded for tournament participation are 5 for any entrant, 15 for a TV and 25 for a TC. Death in a tournament negates any tournament points gained and results in a-5 score. ***** Halfway points scored are 25, 20, 15, 10, 5, 5, 5 (etc) for 1st, 2nd, 3rd (etc). (to qualify for any of these points the alliance must have fought 75% of its possible fights.) Final 12 Round points scored are 40, 30, 20, 15, 10, 5, 5, 5 (etc) for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd (etc). (to qualify for any of these points the alliance must have fought 75% of its possible fights.) Special Scoring Considerations for the Turf War are as follows: Spy Report mention (team name only) +2 1. No matter how many mentions or stylemasters, an individual team can score only +2 in each category per round Style Master +2 1. No matter how many mentions or stylemasters, an individual team can score only +2 in each category per round Duelmaster +2 Champions: 1. A Champion may be declared, but one is not mandatory. 2. Only one Champion allowed per manager at any given time. 3. Champions that graduate or are killed by another warrior in the arena, but not the Dark Arena, may be replaced. 4. Champions must have fought at least one previous fight in the North Fork (DM47 arena) to be able to be declared a champion. Bloodfeuds: 1. Bloodfeuds will score points on all four (4) turns. 2. There is no limit to which warrior may bloodfeud or how often. Tournament Considerations: 1. Tournament participation is ALLOWED and encouraged. 2. Tournament Victors won during the course of the contest will gain a one (1) time bonus of 25 15 points. This bonus will apply EACH time a warrior(s) wins such status. 3. Tournament Champions won during the course of the contest will gain a one (1) time bonus of 50 25 points. This bonus will apply EACH time a warrior(s) win such status. 4. Points awarded for tournament participation are 5 for any entrant, (15 total for a TV and 25 total for a TC.) However, death in a tournament will result in a -5 score for that tournament. (If a warrior TV's and is subsequently killed in a tournament the points scored are -5 for that tournament.) 5. Points for TVs and TCs and tournament deaths will be applied the Turn after RSI posts tournament results in the North Fork (DM 47) newsletter (i.e., if the results post on North Fork turn 275, points will be credited on North Fork turn 276 to the applicable teams). Special Considerations: 1. Each alliance begins the Turf War with zero (0) points. 2. There will be NO alliance or team changes once the contest has begun. If you begin the Turf War with Alliance A, you must end the Turf War with Alliance A. If you begin the Turf War with Team A, you must end the Turf War with Team A. 3. There will be a maximum of five (5) teams allowed per alliance for the Turf War VII. 4. The Dark Arena may be used on the first turn only, of every warrior, without penalty. Prizes: The Turf War is normally a "winner take all" contest. However, for TWVII, a prize will be awarded each of the twelve turns to the individual team/manager that fights five fights and has the best w/l record that turn. (Tiebreakers are in order - kills, recognition points earned.) All prizes and 100% of the Gift Certificates will be awarded to the Captain of the winning alliance at the end of the competition. It is the responsibility of the Captain to distribute Gift Certificates. Moderators will submit a list of each manager on the winning alliance to RSI at the completion of the contest for the non-Certificate prizes. All entry fees (rollup certs) are awarded to the winning alliance, except for the twelve reserved for the individual winning manager each week.) The following prizes have been secured from RSI: 1. Renaming of the North Fork (DM 47) arena; 2. Renaming of all Dark Arena Monsters (two for each manager in the winning alliance); 3. Known Favorites for one warrior on each team of the winning alliance (warrior must be ranked Initiate or above, must be alive, and must have at least one DM47 arena fight to receive this award). 4. +1 Skill bonus potion for each manager on the winning alliance. Bonus potion must be applied to a living warrior from (DM 47) 5. +1 Skill bonus potion (one) for each and every individual manager who fights in all 12 rounds AND 54 fights of the Turf War. Bonus potion must be applied to a living warrior from (DM 47) These RSI awards will be listed by the Moderator for claiming from RSI (Lee) within 4 turns of the end of TW VI. The certs will be mailed to the winning alliance by the Moderators within two weeks of the end of the TW. Moderators: The Moderators for this event will be Oz and Master Darque. They will arbitrate all dealings during the course of the contest. Their decisions will be final. All questions, comments, and scoring disputes may be directed to Land of Oz or Darque Forces via diplo in DM 47. Managers with internet access may send a private message to [The Consortium] or [Darque] on the Duel2 Forums. Lastly, you may also email questions, comments, and scoring disputes to rebelnerfherder at yahoo dot com or wfms101 at aol dot com. Please note there have been rule changes from the last Turf War.
