TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Players old and new!
Some of you may know that at one point last year, RSI tried to pull together an
arena in which role-playing in the personals and in spotlights would be a significant
(and rewarded) feature. Though it didn't work out, the idea remains an appealing
one. I would like to propose that we, the players, sponsor such an effort. No
rules, no prizes, just players getting into the spirit of role-play.
I suggest Telorinthe, arena 83, as a place to try this. Telorinthe is the slow
no-tourney arena, and it seems like a good place for this experiment. There is no
large body of entrenched players with other interests. Although some background work
has been done, there is no great, creaking, edifice of old spotlights to deal with.
Very little in the way of vested interests. Perhaps if all goes well, the idea might
catch on in other arenas.
In keeping with the "no rules" idea, I won't say, "Begins on turn ###!" Just
show up when you feel like it and jump in. We'll keep a seat ready for you.

P.S. And I'll try to have at least a short piece each time. No major adventures,

You elder fighters surely remember me. The younger ones may call me Olaf
Modeen. I return to MORYA once again! Ya gotta be quick on yer feet! Keep your
elbow off the table! Thrust! Block out the pain! SONS OF MARS is now ranked 5th
with a 5-0-0 turn. What's with PUBLIUS CLAUDIUS? He actually beat THE DEATH LORDS'
AHRIMAN, and walked away with 15 more points from the fight. Major screwup at THE
DEATH LORDS. AHRIMAN lost 15 points to PUBLIUS CLAUDIUS. Some new strategies,
perhaps? Maybe AHRIMAN will provide more easy wins... VETERAN MERCENARY was
reminded on the sands why PATTE DE SAGUAR is Duelmaster. I suppose you want to hear
some rumors and dirty gossip about your fellow fighters? Tough!
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... MORYA thinks MY
GENERATION and their 26-13-1 is too much! If at first you don't succeed, give up...
Management must be dealin', as the boys at THE DEATH LORDS ain't reelin'! MY
GENERATION's mad! How well I know the feeling of being the most challenged warrior,
AHRIMAN! Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to haunt you. SAMEDI of THE
DEATH LORDS knows how to pick 'em. He challenged MADELINE of DODGE BULLETS who is up
by 19. Now was this a wise move? SAMEDI perhaps got his just desserts, seeing as he
was bested by MADELINE and ended up with 25 recognition points.
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. Do you want the fighters
to walk away, or not? CAPEX larned his lesson (DRUJ NASU taught it well), and we
right likely won't be seein' 'im fight any THE DEATH LORDS members with the same
gusto. Many a warrior has met his fate in a hungover stupor. You young
rapscallions, take note!
Many other cities have retirement homes for aged warriors. Any plans here? All
work and no play makes Olaf a dull fighter. Work and play no fighter dull Olaf.
