Notes from the arena champ.
Brine Suspect, I am glad you survived, their has been to much death in the arena
lately. For those that did not notice our former nemises Cancer of Avoid Me! TV'd in
the recent tourney, only to die in the run-offs. Bloke while we all hated him, I am
sorry he died in such a unfortunate way.

SPY REPORT
Welcome back, Lapurians. First off, we are honoring Lord Protector Warius, who
received his invite last time. He finished with an about average record, though he was
well above average in size being six and a half feet tall, unusual for a lunger. But
still he stuck in there and became Duelmaster and heads off to the Isle. Now with him
leaving, we will have a new warrior at the top this week, who will it be? Three TP's
and a Striker and an Aimed Blow in the top of ranks. The odds favor Zagrid, but the
challenges and matchups can be fickle. Who knows, it could be a scumfest or someone
challenging up from below, so let's find out, shall we?
Eleven teams in the ranks, with two new ones and Obergon and his War Party resting up.
A warm welcome to the new teams, Tripwire and his Of Wolf and Men guild and an unknown
manager and Covey 19. From those teams we have 23 fights on the lists, which include 4
fights by torch light, one bloodfeud, 7 challenge fights, and the rest random
matchups. With our Duelmaster leaving, let's get the title fight out of the way. DROP
THE SOAP of ALMOST EXACTLY challenged ZAGRID of MID EARTH, with Vlad's clumsy warrior
overpowering Visionist's zombie warrior in a 1 minute duel. All Hail the new
Duelmaster, DROP THE SOAP!!
In team news, Visionist and his Mid Earth crew rose to the #1 spot after a 3-2-0. Vlad
and his Almost Exactly jumped from 5th to 2nd after a 5-0-0 result. Rounding out the
top 3 is POKE' MON, who moved up from 4th after a 4-1-0 showing. The Team on the Move
is Vlad and ALMOST EXACTLY, who gained an impressive 61 points collectively. The Most
Avoided goes to the Bloke and his lone AVOID ME! warrior, who received 11 avoids with
8 avoids coming from one team. The 2nd best has 3 avoids.

APOSTATE POSTMAN of ARMY OF DARKNESS challenged PRETTY ALRIGHT of BLUE HERRINGS, with
Master Beru's postal warrior being viciously subdued by Blue's attractive warrior in a
2 minute competition.
ERRATIC EDUCATOR of ARMY OF DARKNESS challenged KUHRIS (17-24-0,89) of MID EARTH, with
Master Beru's unpredictable warrior being viciously subdued by Visionist's under
achieving warrior in a 2 minute Challenge duel.
SUE CHEF of ARMY OF DARKNESS challenged GRAKUS of MID EARTH, as Master Beru's culinary
warrior was viciously subdued by Visionist's upstate in a 1 minute Challenge duel.
POX of AVOID ME! challenged LITTLE FISHY of BLUE HERRINGS, with the Blokes crabby
warrior overpowering Herrings' minnow warrior in a 1 minute one-sided Challenge melee.
WINDLESS WHISPER of ALMOST EXACTLY challenged SALAZZLE of POKE' MON, with Vlad's
mumbling warrior demolishing Poke's lizard warrior in a 1 minute Challenge
competition.
FELONIOUS FRUNK of ALMOST EXACTLY challenged ELHAD of MID EARTH, with Vlad's criminal
warrior besting Visionist's struggling warrior in a 2 minute novice's Challenge
battle.
My "Fight of the Week" goes to the 2nd -- or is it 3rd? -- Bloodfeud match between
WAGON DRIVER 3 of BLACK KELTS and END OF BIDET of ALMOST EXACTLY. Purple Sage
continues to send his scum against Vlad's upstart Aimed Blow. A terrible style matchup
that looks very suspicious to me, but who am I to not give Vlad's porcelain warrior
his due. I just hope someone doesn't kill him being ranked so high, so young. Ohhh, by
the way, the fight lasted 8 minutes.

The Biggest Winner is WINDLESS WHISPER of ALMOST EXACTLY, who gained 14 points in his
win.
The Biggest Loser is MAEVE MANIAC of Black Kelts, who lost to a DANGEROUS CRIMINAL and
it cost her 9 points and the embarassment.

Broke Bloke (after paying your golf debts) -- I think the saying "In vino, veritas" is
apropos here. Like you, it has been around a long, long time. The Greek poet Alcaeus
used a similar saying meaning "in wine, truth". Roman author Pliny The Elder referred
to it as a common proverb around the turn of the milennia. The exact wording first
appears from Dutch scholar Erasmus in his 1500's collection of proverbs. But it was
