Platinum Peener, who had far too much ale celebrating the DM Title and Lord
protectorship has asked the manager to write the column for him. Since the old goat
can hardly write or speak legibly, the task has fallen to me, Ora. Doesn't it
always?

SPY REPORT
Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly LAPUR games. The proverbial rising comet can only
hope to compare with CROC FILES' team record! A 5-0-0 week and now a firm grasp on a
2nd place ranking. My praise to VENUSIANS for their 4-1-0 week this time out.
Indeed, it was a skillfully fought round deserving of notice! STARRY NITE caught the
eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as she skillfully bested CLOUDSHADOW and
was awarded 21 points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels,
SCRUFFY PUFF put down COPPER COMPACTER, causing it to lose 17 points of recognition
in the process. Unwilling to wait upon the will of others, Duelmaster PLATINUM
PEENER challenged CELADUS last week in a match to decide the fate of the throne. Not
for nothing has PLATINUM PEENER in the past laid claim to the Duelmaster's throne,
and this week it's proven its combat skill yet again. Informants "close" to the city
champion have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor.
Watch out!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city LAPUR. I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when this week's
challenge seeking began. STREET WALKERS is feared. This much I can say. Methinks
more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the better part of last
week avoiding STREET WALKERS. Indeed it was METAL MINCERS. Loose talk at the arena
has reached my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many fighters are after
GLURB. Watch your back! At the gambling halls I have started to bet money on CHROME
CRIMPER. He has got the courage it takes. Witness his challenge this turn against
RED BULL! Truth to tell, CHROME CRIMPER did not come out of the fight a winner, but
he managed to capture much attention, gaining 1 in recognition. I can not but
mention with disdain the name of DEATHWIND FORGE who this week posted a challenge to
a warrior a full 15 points below in the rankings. I thought DEATHWIND FORGE showed
great skill and promise when he was bested by MORDUH. All right, so I slept through
it! Big deal!
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Some say a warrior is judged by the way
he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!
If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times
already in LAPUR. Nice atmosphere you have here! Ahh, but I can hear the spires of
a far off city calling to me. I must away! Till next we meet remember - the pen is

The complexion of things has changed for The Metal Mincers. As recently as three
turns ago, we had three warriors at "the very top" and two nearing. On top of the
world in Lapur. Shortly, the three will be gone to graduation, and we will be
virtually starting all over again with new borgs. It is sad to see our long time
warriors go, but exciting to consider what we can do with new recruits. Such is life
