TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Mid Earth votes for the Lapurian Awards.
As usual, I will not vote for any member of the Mid Earth guild. There is no rule
saying you can't, it is just my choice.
Best Duelmaster -- There were some good Duelmasters to choose from this past year,
but in my opinion it came down to Snowdrop and Killian McGuines. Hmmm, tough choice
between the two, my vote goes to Killian McGuines.
Worst Duelmaster -- Easy choice here since only one had a losing record, Deathwind
Forge.
Favorite Manager or Team -- This year my vote goes to Owsly, because even though he
wasn't able to participate in the Summer FtF in Orlando he took the time to stop by
and meet some fellow DM addicts.
Most Disliked Manager or Team -- This one is easy...ECHL-EAST, for jumping into the
arena with a tourney Lunger that took the throne from Lhisson.
Most Avoided Team -- Tough decision between Serpents Hold and Clubs 'n Clones. They
both are new teams in Lapur that have some really impressive warriors. Because of
Trinket and other warriors getting TVs in recent tourneys, my vote goes to Serpents
Hold.
Most Challenged Team -- I don't set challenges every turn, but it seemed like every
time I did this past year a warrior from the Equestors was ranked above my warrior.
Best Team Name -- I can't explain why, but I kinda like Clubs 'n Clones.
Worst Team Name -- They weren't around long, but my vote goes to Open Hand.
Best Warrior Name -- She came back from the dead this past year... Miss Conduct
Worst Warrior Name -- My warrior Zerro was pretty bad, but I knew he wouldn't be
around very long. This warrior may be the same type, but B. Furious is below your
normal naming standards, Roadkill.
Best Personals Writer -- My vote goes to the ye' ol borgs Ora and Oremaster.
Best Spotlight Writer -- Jorja once again this year, despite the break.
Marcus Award -- Deathwind Forge would have gotten my vote, but he got his invite.
Butterfly would have as well, but she met her fate. The next possible choice is
Misty Rain, but I don't think she has truly earned the title yet. So I am not
casting a vote in this category.
Ahringol's Apprentice -- Maybe it's just me, but it seemed like Trail of Tears name
was listed in the dead a lot.
Bonnie Award -- This one, my vote is based off of incomplete information. It comes
down to Trinket, Snowdrop, and Killian McGuines and without knowing if Trinket is
fist favorite or not, my vote must go to Killian.
Stylemasters
Aimed Blow -- Three to choose between, Deathwind Forge, Trinket and Quark.
Based on performance against my guild, Trinket gets my vote hands down.
Basher -- Slim pickens here, Inconel Indenter.
Lunger -- Comes down to Julianus and Killian McGuines. If they fought right now
I would have to put my money on Killian McGuines.
Parry Lunge -- Easy choice. Snowdrop.
Parry Riposte -- So sad to see her fall, but Pinky had something special about
her.
Parry Strike -- I don't see any worthy of receiving my vote.
Slasher -- Comes down to Mr. Spock or Silver Saw. This probably isn't logical,
but my vote goes to Mr. Spock.
Striker -- Three to choose from, Salamander, Iron Impacter or Carnage. Carnage
is very impressive but 2011 will be his year, so based on turns on throne, Salamander
gets my vote.
Total Parry -- Only one was Duelmaster and that was Makados.
Wall of Steel -- I would pass on voting for this one if I could think of a good
reason. <Cough> <gag> Lucky Eireann. Damn, that hurt.

SPY REPORT
I can't believe the violence in LAPUR! I still haven't told Mom I'm writing
Spyreports. She'd have a cow! Well, here we go... Too bad, STREET WALKERS, but
CLUBS 'N CLONES was just too good to be stopped. Uncool, EQUESTORS. I mean 0-5-0 is
bad. Will they will be allowed to fight? I say use 'em for training practice!
DAGGERS DEEP like really fought hard to move up to 6th from 12th. Way to go! One
team deserves special mention 'cause they moved up 3 after going 4-1-0. Keep it up,
TREKKERS! MVP award for ULPHOR? MID EARTH's proud of him after beating MARY WANNA
and getting 32 points. Talk about yer major upsets! STORMRIDER's match with VIEDRAS
cost him a loss of 17 points! Like, INCONEL INDENTER must be pretty gutsy! He
challenged the Duelmaster from TREKKERS. Does this guy have a death wish or what!
Don't you think the Duelmaster is being unfair? I think QUARK should let INCONEL
INDENTER be Duelmaster for a while, without fighting about it. Who was the wiseguy
that said LAPUR's Duelmaster was paying for drinks at The Warty Toad? Don't look at
me!
AAARRGH!!! I HATE SPYREPORTING!!! Sorry. I just had to say it. SERPENTS HOLD
was the most avoided team. Is a 51-48-4 record really that scary? Is there some
deep dark secret why MID EARTH's been avoiding SERPENTS HOLD so much? Or is it just
that they're too scared? Can CARDOW HUNTERS' HARDWOOD be more popular than me? He
was challenged the most, but is that really the same? I'm not so sure NERO knew all
the facts when he challenged HARDWOOD of CARDOW HUNTERS. I saw NERO stumbling and
dribbling at The Warty Toad last week... Like, was that some fighting on NERO's
part, or what? And he got 19 points out of it! (besides getting in my report) Poor
HARDWOOD.
Man, all these warriors dying and killing each other! Don't you guys ever give
it a break? What a bummer! MARY WANNA got wasted by ULPHOR! But with a 11-12-4, I
guess STREET WALKERS aren't too bummed. I was so shocked when ULPHOR killed MARY
WANNA I just about swallows my gum! And do you think MID EARTH really wants a
Bloodfeud from STREET WALKERS? Fight, fight, fight. Is that all you guys can do?
I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be
a famous Spyreporter? I know how much you like reading this stuff, but I really
should stop. Its been really albendranius! Later, guys-- Debby Tonte

Congrats on your graduation, LP Quark! Well done. BUT, Deep Thought, you have to
stay. Yes, you do. The recruits are just simply too interesting. Besides, we like
you. And we need you. (You know what I mean.) -- Ora
Aye, what yon Lady said. -- Oremaster
Mary Wanna -- I enjoyed very much having my way with you. -- Beryllium Buffer
Lo' Gosh -- You were there. I wanted you. Just like I planned it. -- Bismuth Bender
Yo, ye Street Walkers. Nice'n "spot." Aye. But this'n ole miner likened ye all
better as Ladies 'o yon night. Aye. -- Oremaster
Oremaster -- You are so shallow. -- Ora
Roadkill and Street Walkers -- Glad you aren't in what I am told is a difficult and
mostly unrewarding line of work. Good to know where you ARE coming from. -- Jorja
P.S. As to spotlights... I'm trying to make a niche in my schedule for a Lapur spot
now and then, but the fact that it runs on the same days as Sunset and Shadowspire is
giving me a problem. Although I will say that I wish ALL arenas were this active.
Then I'd actually have MORE time to write!
Our congratulations to Quark. -- Jorja and the Cardow Hunters
We salute all the tourney participants, with special cheers for Kalimac, Champion in
Freshmen, and Bonnie and Carnage, both tourney victors at their levels. -- Jorja and
the Cardow Hunters
Danya -- Ow! I wish you didn't drive that dagger so deep into me. Figuratively
speaking, you know. -- Sweet Birch, dripping sap--
Sap? Wait a minute! Jorja! I am NOT a tree! -- Sweet Birch the Rirorni gladiator
Casimir Pulaski -- You see how it is, I'm better than my record suggests. Plus, of
course, the fans love me. This gives me an edge. Whereas you are in the unfortunate
position of having a record good enough you probably are NOT better than it, and you
just have to deal with stuff as it comes, no hidden advantages, hmm? Tough. I could
maybe buy you a drink, but only one! I'm saving up for new pair of boots, and good
boots aren't cheap. -- Stormrider
Dr. Strangeleaf -- Huh, probably mistletoe or some other arboreal parasite. --
Hardwood
Jeter -- Why did the fans hate me? What did *I* do? You set me up! -- Claybank
P.S. And you didn't teach me anything, either. Stingy.
Yyttria -- You must be a natural at Scrabble. -- Grassfire
P.S. There was so much back-and-forth in that fight, I got dizzy. Really! That's
my story, and I'm sticking to it.
