SPY REPORT
Busy, busy, busy, lots of things happening in LAPUR this turn, and let's start
with a look at some of the teams. Now keep the taverns open late tonight, for there
are sorrows to drown for BLUNT FORCE, whose 1-3-0 this turn dropped them by 4 into
6th. OPEN HAND stable has parlayed this turn's 5-0-0 into a 6 space move up the
rankings. This brings them up to 4th place. Good work, guys! And let's see,
STORMRIDER fought PRIORE and gained 17 points and contributed to CARDOW HUNTERS'
3-2-0. PRIORE has lost to STORMRIDER, falling 15 points, while helping make MID
EARTH a 2-3-0 turn. This week's Duelmaster bout was between DARIUS and our
Duelmaster DR. STRANGELEAF, making a challenge. And not without some honor, DARIUS
now claims the title and throne of Duelmaster of LAPUR. Can someone confirm a rumor
for me? I hear the top team makes their losing fighters do dishes at The Burning
Tree until they win. Maybe?
He who challenges well, fights well. He who avoids without cause, shall lose
for good reasons. My mama told me that one. EQUESTORS has cause to stand tall, as
they were LAPUR's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team to beat.
And guess who avoided EQUESTORS stable the most? Believe it or not, it was METAL
MINCERS. Anyone surprised? The most challenged warrior this turn was OPEN HAND's
warrior BAHRAM. More fighters challenged him than challenged the Duelmaster! STEEL
SHARPENER of METAL MINCERS had better have a good reason for challenging down 10
points in a challenge which it won. I thought STEEL SHARPENER showed great skill and
promise when it beat SOUR DIESEL. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
The Dark Arena is for those who cannot win, not who cannot lose with grace.
Dignity in life or death is the warrior's creed. Is it really true that LAPUR has
more dishwashers per capita that fighters? Just thought I'd ask...
I like this place, LAPUR, the taverns have old wine, and young serving girls.
Who could ask for more? Always good to rest in LAPUR, but never good to wear out my
welcome. Look for me in future turns. Until you see my quill in LAPUR again,
farewell-- Alarond the Scribe

Gratters, Dr Strangeleaf! Champeen! Good'n. Aye! -- Ora
Spartacus -- DON'T GO, you hunk! You are not the only one in this game getting
Social Security checks. Papa Bear is the oldest in our game. He and elderly
Consortium discussed just that fact at The Milwaukee Face. Old is omnipotent!--
Ora, Metal Mincers
Ah, something to look forward to, then.
Darius -- You cretin! That hurt. Cut it out! -- Inconel Indenter
Hardwood -- It was close, but metal triumphs over wood every time. Yes! -- Bismuth
Bender
Sour Diesel -- I trust that my victory made you sourer? Har, har. -- Steel Sharpener
Visionist -- When we apologized for Menhoir's demise, we forgot to mention that B.B.
is maxed for the Mailer. Indeed, he abdicated. We apologize for the blood feud
inconvenience. Maybe we can make it up to you somehow later? -- The Metal Mincer
Publicist
P.S. Neither Ora nor Oremaster could respond as they just left for their counselling
session.
Bahram -- Good spotlight, and good to see you back. -- Jorja, Cardow Hunters
Bismuth Bender -- When we have to be, yes, of course. Besides, anyone who will bend
bismuth will bend the rules, so we need to get you OUT of here. -- Sweet Birch
Spartacus -- Indeed, we wish you all the best. And acknowledge that when the time
comes to cut a connection, it's best just to do it. -- Jorja and the Cardow Hunters
Managers and gladiators of Lapur -- I *think* I will be able to write short
spotlights / episodes on a semi-regular basis. If anyone is interested enough to
volunteer--either manager persona or gladiator--that would improve the odds of
spotlights getting written. Let me know. -- Jorja aka Scribe
P.S. Mind you, if I get socked with the tourney spy report, all bets are off.
Pappadeaux -- Ah, that was a good one, for me, at least. And to think I could have
been a mere canoe instead! -- Sweet Birch
Priore -- That was completely embarrassing, but it was a good fight on YOUR part. --
Stormrider
Bismuth Bender -- They should call you the Pot-metal Pretzel-maker. Nah, too long
for the forms. Oh, well. I survived, so all is acceptable. But you really need a
loss on that record. -- Hardwood
Ulphor -- You doused my flames. Ouch. -- Grassfire
P.S. Good skills! Thanks.
Parthenius -- Huh, that makes me look bad! Uh, worse than I did before, I mean. --

it and that we will see you there!
