The pretty, petite brunette whimpered audibly as the dark, hulking mass of an
orc rolled over her naked form and out of bed. He pulled aside the drapes and
momentarily bathed the room's inhabitants in cold white light before quickly closing
them again. His eyes adjusting once more to the dark chamber, he felt for his
trousers on a writing desk in the corner. Finally grasping what he was searching
for, the muscular orc hurled the small money purse at the sleeping girl's head.
She screamed. "What in hell what that for?" she groaned, having been so rudely
"Count it," the orc muttered. "It's your pay plus a nice tip." He gathered her
underwear and shoes and dumped them on the bed.
"I'm NOT a whore, you filthy orc!" She was yelling now, standing, her lady
parts jiggling with rage. "You said you wanted to marry me!"
"All women are whores, and I'd say anything to bed a human girl." The orc was
grinning now, enjoying watching the woman dress quickly. "And since you say you're
not a whore, I guess I can have my money back?"
The attractive, half-dressed wench scowled at the orc and threw a pillow at him.
"I'll keep the coins to help mend my broken heart, you evil bastard!"
After another heated exchange, the burly orc finally resorted to manhandling the
whiny prostitute and dumping her onto the front porch by her soft, curly hair. She
made the mistake of spitting on his feet which earned her a brutal kick to the ribs
that landed her half a block away from the orc's townhouse amid a pile of silver
"Don't come back here," the dark, deadly orc warned before slamming and bolting
the door...stupid prostitute.
Like every day since he became a professional fighter, his day began with a
high-protein breakfast of ten dead rabbits, fur heads and tails included. A local
hunter would deliver ten more by noon, giving them plenty of time to spoil by the
next morning. He hurriedly gobbled up the rabbits and washed them down with a gallon
of sweet mead.
His daily workout was simple, but effective: 5,000 pushups and 5000 sit-ups.
Arrows would bounce off his chest or abs.
Next on his to-do list was the voiding of the bowels and bladder. He looked out
the back door of the townhouse carefully, stepped out on the back porch and began
tiptoeing to the outhouse. Now was a bad time for another run-in from that angry
prostitute. He swiftly made his way to the outhouse and made it unholy for 30 full
Back inside his townhouse, he went to check the calendar Ikaun had made him.
"Damn," he cursed to himself after realizing it was the first Monday of the month.
"Stupid bath day." He hated his monthly visit to the bathhouse with every fiber
of his being, but Ikaun insisted.
With a resigning sigh, the brutish orc squeezed into a tunic and sandals and
made for the front door. No longer worried about the lingering wench, he flung the
door open and was surprised at what he encountered.
Beneath the porch steps were six city guards armed with scimitars with leather
armor and helms. Atop the steps stood an aged, thin city constable with a scar down
the side of his face and a fedora tipped to the right.
"Can I help you?" the orc croaked, knowing he must be in trouble.
"Are you the orcish gladiator known as Bazthrax?" The slim constable's voice
was dry and whispery.
"I am," Bazthrax answered. He knew he hadn't given the prostitute his real
The elder constable removed his hat to expose a shiny bald head. "Do you have a
gelding-drawn bronze chariot?" He eyes searched for truthful information.
"My boss bought me a chariot like that when we moved here." Bazthrax was
worried now. Three days earlier, his new friend and ally, Scarecrow the Golem, had
asked to borrow Bazthrax's chariot. Even not having known the Golem Scarecrow for
very long, Bazthrax had agreed to loan him the chariot and its gelding for one day.
Now it was three days later and the cops had come calling, asking about the chariot.
"May we inspect your chariot, Mr. Bazthrax?" The slim constable's eyes
penetrated into Brazthrax's brain.
"No, actually, sir, the chariot isn't here." Bazthrax struggled to keep his
"Not here?" The constable rubbed his bald head. "Ah, well, if it's not here,
then where might it be, Mr. Bazthrax?"
Bazthrax instinctively assumed a defensive posture, his feet spread wide, his
arms folded in front of him. "On loan to a friend."
The constable had faced down lots of muscle in his day, and read the orc's body
language clearly. He drew a slip of paper from his inner coat pocket. "Mr.
Bazthrax, this is a warrant to search your barn and these men are here to enforce the
warrant." He placed the fedora back on his hairless pate.
"I have no problem with that," said a relieved Bazthrax. It looked like he was
off the hook.
The group made their way to the barn in the backyard and Bazthrax handed over
the key.

"Good gad," Senator Sedalia muttered, panting along in Stepharoo's wake, "the
wench is tireless!"
"I have an elixir--" Old Doc Circ began.
"No! I don't need your potions, you quack!" More quietly, he added, "It's only
two miles. Less than that, we must have come half way already." He looked ahead,
where Stepharoo and Gissanniah were vanishing over the crest of the peninsula. "And
the rest of it will be downhill."
"Unless you're going to roll down the hill," Circ pointed out, "it won't be any
Sedalia scowled at him. The old alchemist seemed disgustingly spry, and
continuing the argument would take too much breath. He and Circ were almost at the
top themselves, and it would be an obvious move to stop there and survey the
situation. Any minute now.

The two veterans stopped side by side and looked down on the town of Point.
"Not one of Point's better days," Old Doc Circ murmured.
An explosion over the nearer edge of Krael shook the air and the land, and dust
blasted upward in a fountain.
"Not one of Krael's better days, either," Sedalia added, pointing into the
distance. "Parts of it are being flooded again!"
"Good! But where have Gissanniah and Stepharoo gone?" The alchemist fumbled in
the pockets of his robe. "I have a telescope here somewhere...."
Sedalia ignored him and scanned the town below. One part of it had burned a
year or so ago, he remembered hearing about that. What he hadn't heard was that the
burned buildings had been abandoned, no effort made to clean them up or clear the
sites for new building. The jumble of blackened walls and tumbled, half-burned beams
was depressing. All the outlying areas were depressing; the population, what
remained, had withdrawn to the core of the town around the empty arena and the mound
of the Ogre's Tomb. A broad lane ran down from there toward Krael, or at least,
toward what had once been Point's harbor. People were gathering on that path,
holding weapons, and even from this distance, the senator could hear the mutter that
warned of a crowd fast becoming a mob. Stepharoo and Gissanniah had almost reached
the rear of the mob.
And in front of it, coming up from Krael, was a group of four people, with a
confused mass of Kraelians in pursuit.

"We won't be able to stop those Kraelians coming up from the ruins," Old Doc
Circ said. "That's work for an army, backed by magicians."
"Fat lot you know, you old quack," Senator Sedalia responded automatically.
Then he frowned and studied the situation more carefully. "That mob might stop them.
They'll take a lot of casualties doing it, though. Not a good thing, if it can be
Circ opened his mouth to snap back, closed it again, stared at the nascent mob,
then back at Sedalia. "You could harness that mob and prevent the worst losses," he
suggested. "Manipulating people is what you do, after all."
It was the senator's turn to contemplate a clever, argumentative response and
think better of it. "Maybe," he admitted. He squared his shoulders, his white linen
suit catching the sunlight like a beacon. "I'll try." He started down the slope.
"And I'll help you any way I can," the old alchemist said, falling into step
beside him. He raised his telescope again and studied the Kraelians, and the party
of four lurching up from the ruins ahead of them. "Bless my alembics! That's
"What? The Consortium magician from Ardivent?"
"Yes, I'm sure of it. I'd know him anywhere," Doc Circ said. "This is the best
of luck! I was just thinking that we needed him."
"It may be luck," Sedalia growled, puffing and striding faster. "It may be a
disaster. What are the survival chances of anyone caught between two mobs, you old
"Better than ours would be," Circ replied. "He's a mage, after all."
"Can't cast a spell on the fly," Sedalia said. "Even I know that! Who's with
"Nobody I know. A woman...might be that Aruaki manager, Adeolar? I heard she's
a redhead. An Adantri. And a man in armor."
They had nearly reached the back of the forming mob of Pointers. Sedalia
Circ ran on a couple of steps and then stopped also, looking back.
"Can't harangue a mob if I'm out of breath," the senator said. He puffed for a
few moments, took a deep breath, and nodded. "Now...." He drew himself up.
"Citizens of Point!" he began.

"We might escape the mob behind us," Adie said breathlessly, "but what about the
mob in front?"
"Can't blast 'em" Fandil panted. "Good guys. Us. Them. Can't turn on 'em."
"If they'll just give us a chance to explain--"
"Ma'am," the gladiator Eclipse said, "that isn't going to happen. That's a mob
up there, and you can't reason with a mob." He hefted his sword and his dark shield.
"We'll probably have to fight them."
     "No," Adie said.
"Not if we can avoid it," Fandil added.
"We have to fight the Kraelians now," Cho said. "They're closing too fast.
Younger legs and lungs."
Eclipse stopped immediately and turned, weapon ready. "For an old codger,
you're doing well," he told the Adantri, grinning. "You up for any kind of spell?"
The old Adantri took a position beside him. "The only quick and easy spells are
usually the most destructive," he said. "But you'll have to keep that shield of
yours away from my line of projection."
Fandil took up a position on the gladiator's other side. "Now we look like
we're leading the mob from Point," he noted. "If Adie can persuade them of that, we
may be okay."
"Let's hear it for fast-talking women! I wish Steph was here, too, though."
Eclipse squinted at the approaching Kraelians. The leading edge was all golems and
golem-ized Aruaki, some of them half-changed to werecat form. Behind that...it was
hard to tell. Probably some of the Kraelian mages. "Even if we don't have to fight
the Pointers, we've still got this lot to deal with."
"Let's deal, then," Fandil said. He shifted his grip on his staff and growled a
word that turned it to lightning.

When Gissanniah saw the four fleeing Krael turn to fight their pursuers, she
heaved a sigh of relief. "Good, now maybe these people can see which side they're
on. But we've still got to get these guys organized...." She looked around,
wondering how one organized a mob. That had not been a part of her training.
Beside her, Stepharoo raised her golden shield over her head. A beam of light,
clean as sunlight, hot as a forge fire, shot from it over the heads of the crowd. "A
rescue!" she shouted. "Point to the rescue!"

Good times must come to an end, with that I wish you all farewell and the best
of luck! Like my brother Garcia, I was born of a switch stat prize. Though my stats
may not be as impressive, my bases and learns are much more! LU 12-8(1)-6-21-15-6-

PR -- learned 5, no rating, DF -- 80/100 and last but not least, AT -- 105/190.

                                      SPY REPORT

Well, what are you looking at, IAYE? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens before?
Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. HELLSWORN turned their 2-3-0 turn into a 4th
place rank in the listings this turn. Any better than this, and you get put on hit
lists. Gee, I'm impressed, a 4-1-0 is nice, but don't get cocky, LENPROS, the Fates
teach humility, and the Fates are proud. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to
see THE BOY KING win a fight and gain 17 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, SARJSKI beat
WINDY WIND and WINDY WIND lost 11 points. You're breakin' my heart. And if variety
is the spice of life, IAYE may be getting bland, as SUNLIGHT SPLATRZ stays top dog in
the city. The Dragon's Blood Inn, humph! I've tasted better ale at mortuaries.
Where do they get this stuff? From IAYE's trash dumps?
My mother always told me, 'If you don't have anything nice to say, start
talking.' I loved that woman. What's the big D? HELLSWORN was the most avoided
team? Bunch of lily livered... grumble... mumble... curse... And it looks like
LENPROS avoided them the most this turn. What a pack of would be losers, if you ask
me. Hmph. LADY HUNTSMAN was challenged more times this turn than the Duelmaster.
Now was the DM insulted or feared? Heh, heh. Looks like time for laurels or
hemlock, SLEEPS ALL DAY was challenged by VRANCELLE, who was ranked 27 points below
her. My sides still hurt from laughing about SLEEPS ALL DAY losing and giving
VRANCELLE 25 points of recognition. Ha ha ha ha!! I guess I can give a little
credit to BAZTHRAX of HELLSWORN for challenging up by 20 to EARTHQUAKE EXCUSE.
BAZTHRAX lost to get 43 points of recognition.
Death and Taxes. The less death I see, the more it taxes my patience. Let's
see if anyone's dead or dying. I could say I saw this coming, but so could anyone
else. Anyway, this turn it came. RAINY RAIN's 13-6-0 has earned him the Dark Arena.
And sending RAINY RAIN to the Dark Arena was supposed to be one of your better ideas,
CRYSTAL PALACE? We're all going to die in the end, so why worry if the fate catches
up with you sooner that later?
What does the IAYE arena have in common with the inns? It's just as comfortable
to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Just wait 'till next time I show up here, I
won't be so nice! So nyaaah! Glad to see the back of this place-- Snide Clemens

Iaye -- Good to be here. I have been told you have a real history and I am honored
to be part of your present and future. May our warriors clash with honor and
sportsmanship. -- Ikaun, mgr. Hellsworn

Ringmaster -- Thanks for inviting us here. Hopefully the gladiators here will offer
more challenges than did those on Noblish Island. Know this! Your enemies are my
enemies, and we will fight tirelessly to defend the honor of Circus Maximus. -- Ikaun

Lenpro -- Your reputation is widely renowned. It is an honor to have the opportunity
to learn from the mighty Consortium. Well met! -- Ikaun, mgr. Hellsworn

Fence Post -- Chopping wood is considered an excellent work out method for the
Family. -- Don Francis

Snowy Snow -- That will teach you to filter into my kingdom. -- Lady Huntsman

Maorakith -- What can I say? Welcome to my superiority. -- Sgt Schmid

The Scribe -- And to think I thought there were NEVER Commission errors? -- Lenpro

Dr Trinaire -- With the rapidly faltering economy, I have found that most personnel,
including experts and high-borne, will work for peanuts or the paltry pittance I am
willing to pay for warriors. Lately that has brought a few Lords, Ladies, Cardinals
and Dons, plus a lone Sgt. to my employ. (wink) -- Lenpro

Sunlight Splatrz -- Congrats on your title. Ripper Duelmasters are rare. We salute

Sgt. Smith -- I never had a chance. -- Maorakith
P.S. Nice rating.

Dr Trinaire -- You and that pesky riposte. -- Vrancelle

Ringmaster -- Congrats on Garbo. Sorry they keep losing your DM Columns. -- Ikaun

Don Francis -- Just between you, me, and, well, me, you're too short for a Fratsfan.
What happened? Did you wash in really hot water and shrink? Or, hmm, I've heard

                        Fusion Confusion Delusion Revolution
                                     as told by
                                Hammer the WordSmith

SomeWhere Beyond ElseWhere and ElseWhen a hooded figure brooded upon the
lingering wisps of memory from days gone by.
From the howling sands to the sanding howls the streams of thought bubbled and
flowed, winding endlessly entwined within the darkest recesses and lightest resources
of the learned and unlearned disciplines of managerial mayhem and manipulation.
Nameless faces and faceless names floated in the swirling mists of madness
embalmed within the memories of one who knew he did not know how far reaching the
influences [both positive and negative] had rooted and flowered in the march of time
and energy expended in the historical markings of gladiatorial essence and excellence
The tamed and the untamed coupled with the named and the unnamed resources that
spilt their sweat and blood on the sands of arenas both known and unknown had
metamorphosed into the dreamings and the schemings of the fadings of jadings and
paradings [in both public and private] amongst the elite and the indiscreet
posturings and babblings of managers becoming legends in their own minds and times.
Hammer pondered upon beginnings and the seemingly endless myriad of endings
possibly possible among the interspersed and intertwined impossible possibilities
presently past and future.
Echoing and reechoing in the vast depths and countless compartments along the
corridors of his mind, Hammer played and replayed the glories shared and dared in the
sixty-plus stabled arena on fabled Noblish Island DM 93.
The training had been all too brief, but the competition generated by the multi
faceted personages inhabiting DM 93 and the sheer multitude of numbers had forever
instilled themselves in the heart and soul of the veteran manager [Hammer]; insomuch
that the migration to Niatoli Island DM 33 triggered the desire to emulate the glory
and the grandeur of the spectacle of stables vying for recognition from among the
virtually numberless no-name newbies making names for themselves as they numbered
their stables and accomplishments for all to see and behold, to the song and the
sound of the sight of clashing cold cruel steel simmering the flesh of gallant
gladiators consumed by the gory and the glory of crossing blades with the superior
and the inferior within the interior of Greywand's Global Gladiatorial Galaxy.
Far far ago and long long away had many abandoned hope for a return to the
reminiscences revered by so many managers; predating even the generations of
gladiators graduating from Noblish Island and the years of yore and gore and
gallantry before.
Rumblings and mumblings of a renovation rejuvenating the reflexes of managers
numbed by the numberless trysts of tourney tarnished stables began revolutionizing
the very fabric of time and space and time-honored tradition throughout the ranks of
visionary newbies and volatile veterans alike and dislike.
History was being shaken to the core of the gore as glory and grandeur responded
to the revelry reverie revelations and reveille revolutionizing the creation of a new
arena in the making; populated by No-Tourney Warriors and Full Stable Participants
pledging to forge a new vision version of "The Fiercest and Best" for crossing blades
and crosser banter in the personal ads and team spotlight tomes.
Now was the time for Hammer to emerge and once again merge his talent among the
gifted and grifted; answering the call to assemble the drifted [and to directly
divulge and converge with the dozens] for the destiny of destructive denizens
determined to build a new legacy upon the all-but-forgotten ashes of the old and
olden legends of times lost.
         [TIME JUMP]
Hammer sifted the sands in the dead of night in the desert reaches [located
SomeWhere BeYond ElseWhere and ElseWhen] to discover 5 gladiators not tourney worthy,
yet interesting enough to begin their careers in a No-Tourney Arena!
"They need not be dispatched to the Dark Arena," the veteran manager mused as he
sorted through paperwork long discarded and vaguely forgotten, "because there is
nothing like a good Blood Feud to provide inspiration for writing personal ads in the
arena newsletter! Besides, there are times when the replacement for a warrior wounded
mortally on the arena sands fares much better than the one exchanged from Torch
Fights by Torch Light were certainly deemed unnecessary as Hammer had already
deduced that a number of determined stables would undoubtedly congregate with High
Octane Warriors under the guidance of Higher Octane Managers to populate and
depopulate the new No-Tourney Arena currently under construction in DM 81.
Fortunately his feeble foray into the desert would yield somewhat suitable
candidates for the newfound purposes Hammer had in mind.
From among the candidates to be found Hammer would be rewarded in time by
Deep into the night Hammer searched and searched until five not-so-promising
stables were uncovered in the waning hours before dawn.
Ripper discards were scattered far and wide, but this was not the time or the
hour to let sentimental views cloud the issue at hand. Future events would lend
themselves to a suitable Ripper replacement, especially with the prospects Hammer was
now sorting for his selection decision to dispatch to the Gladiatorial Commission for
Most managers have the luxury of selecting the best group [or discarding the
worst group!] Hammer had the novelty of rounding up the castaways from the New
Stables paperwork accumulated long ago from Maximillian's Morya Madness contest in DM
28 that were deemed below inferior as contest prizes [and thus banished from sight!]
Hammer scrutinized and agonized over which group of gladiators were worth the
sacks of gold coins he was prepared to release to the Gladiatorial Commission for
fees to MAINTENANCE his new stable in the No-Tourney Arena.
After what seemed like long hours passing by, Hammer discarded one and then
another group of hopefuls. After lengthy debate a third was cast aside. Deciding
between the final two groups found Hammer going back to interview the rejected
candidates time and time again [until a final decision was made that Hammer could
live with and his new stable could die with!] before the final quirks were hammered
out and pen put to paper to process the prospective puny stable with the Gladiatorial
The only solace gained from the painful process was the knowledge that other
managers would be less tempted to run stables in DM 81 populated by their tourney-
worthy warriors [under the penalty of death imposed and enforced upon tourney
experienced gladiators by the Committee being formed to police and regulate such
matters!] as sworn to and signed in good faith by each registering manager.
         [TIME JUMP]
Hammer had worked long and hard to find suitable candidates for his stable and
now it was time to begin their training. The paperwork had been dispatched for
registration with the Gladiatorial Commission and now was the hour in which
preparation was paramount!
Dispatch riders had arrived with the news that Considerable Bounty was being
offered as incentive rewards to those managers sending new stables to the No-Tourney
Hammer realized this would Up the Ante [causing greater pause in the managerial
community for selecting suitable stables!] as the creative competition was certain to
escalate and produce Serious Sword Slinging Stables Staining the Arena Sands Red!
Obviously a serious upgrade in the quality of competition migrating to the No-
Tourney Arena in DM 81 would definitely work in favor of Hammer; enormously
increasing the death toll percentage potential amongst the ranks of his new start-up
stable in DM 81 [Sands Running Red and Blood Feuds Running Rampant as Undoubtedly
Hammer observed the futility of his new warriors training [as well as they could
for what they were made from!] while recent memories came to the forefront of his
When the paperwork was nearly completed and names were selected for each
Gladiator, Hammer decided to name the stable according to what he had discovered in
the darkness while searching during the dismal hours of the desert night.
These warriors would probably be more well suited to fight by Torch Light had
they fallen into the possession of most other managers!
Paper Warriors better suited to confronting Dark Arena Monsters [rather than
being fed to the Gladiatorial Lions certain to be populating the regular No-Tourney
Specimens blatantly better suited for feeding upon agitated armadillo ants than
for striving to attain recognition and fame in the No-Tourney Arena [or any arena!]
Thus was AARDVARK HAMMERZ birthed and born for Greatness or Disgrace!
         [TIME JUMP]
Dispatch riders on winged steeds brought the news Hammer had been awaiting!
Not since the days of training on Noblish Island in DM 93 had Hammer encountered
such collective enthusiasm for crossing blades in a selected arena such as DM 81
[recalling the time Hammer generated a gathering of newbies to transfer to Niatoli
Island in DM 33 to match wits and cross blades with the assembling veterans upon
The Consortium had represented the veterans well in DM 33 with the SWEETNESS
stable managed by Sweety Pie. Now the good news had arrived that The Consortium was
seen registering a stable named LIFE IMPACTS in the No-Tourney Arena!
Former alliance mates Darque and Kat had reportedly registered DARQUE AGES and
KATHOUSE with the Gladiatorial Commission.
Morya Madness combatant LePentarque from DM 28 had registered LA PENTARCHIE and
longtime fixture Drake in North Fork DM 47 [recently returned from a lengthy hiatus]
had been lured by the competition to register DRAKE'S HARDWARE.
Deke [at the helm of DOC LEGRAND'S LAB] was instrumental in promoting the No-
Tourney Arena by repeatedly negotiating terms with the Gladiatorial Commission.
Others had laid the groundwork before him, but Deke raised the banner and carried it
the final distance [Supported by Countless Managers too numerous to mention!] Salute
Yourselves for Your Efforts are Most Graciously Applauded throughout Alastari!
Apex had signed in with CAROLINA BLUE as had Ghab with ASSASSIN NATION.
Another familiar name was found on the rolls as DeGotti registered CULT OF
BACCHUS followed by DOOM KNIGHTS managed by Blackstorm.
Also on the rolls to be noted were AS SEEN ON TV II managed by Indimar and
RAGNAROK'S WOLVES by none other than ragnorokwolf.
Nomad had signed on with PHANTOM REGIMENT and Silas followed suit with
Another notable signature was that of MasterBeru with CHILDHOOD HEROES and a
penchant for scribing Team Spotlights [A Plus in Any Arena!]
Detective Kellumbo had followed the clues and was observed enroute to
registering a yet unannounced stable [such are the ways of sleuthhounds and such!]
Rumor had it that the manager known as Roadkill was on his way to register a
stable after his namesake and Slugbait was close behind [obliviously lost in
Finally [in no particular disorder!] managers Grimm, Woody, Terminator, Den and
Bill were also seen elbowing their way through the gathering registration crowd to
officially announce their participation in the No-Tourney Arena.
COUNTLESS OTHER MANAGERS were known to be pondering the consequences of sending
stables to a No-Tourney Arena and had yet to make the commitment public knowledge as
to their intentions.
Howbeit the Gladiatorial Commission was reportedly swamped with requests for New
Stable Registration Forms [whether for the Tempe Facer or No-Tourney Arena was
anybody's guess at the present time!]
Judging from the furtive figures darting and ducking in the shadows and
alleyways throughout Alastari [as well as those huddled in taverns or communicating
with one another by various means available!] the success of such a No-Tourney Arena
was Ballooning far Beyond the Expectations of the Promoters and Petitioners Bar None!

rivaling the numbers of Noblish Island from days gone by!

6 December 2006

As an American I honor my cultural heritage by stealing any good idea. This idea was
originally proposed by Lord Xiang in November 2005. RSI will be opening the arena
(81) for teams willing to sign the following pledge:

* I pledge that I will not send warriors from this arena to a Tournament, nor will I
use a Tournament prize on a warrior from this arena.
* I pledge to run a full team when I run turns in this arena. If circumstances
preclude my running less than a full team I will notify the Player Committee.
* I agree to abide by the decisions of the Player Committee.
* I understand that any warrior that participates in a Tournament shall be sent to
the Dark Arena until they are dead.
* I understand that any warrior that receives a Tournament prize shall be send to
the Dark Arena until they are dead.

The following are the rules for joining this No-Tournament arena
1. No tournament play for warriors in this arena (Dead tournament or otherwise).
2. One team per manager.
3. Teams start with new rollup (or a zero fight equivalent team is transferred into
    this arena.)
4. No tourney prizes allowed to modify warriors in the arena.
5. Twenty teams required, per RSI.
6. Waivers are required to allow self-regulation on tourney ban, granting RSI
authority to Dark Arena any warrior that participates in a Tournament (until the
    warrior is dead).
7. Rotating council to enforce tourney ban and maintain arena integrity.

The main purpose of the Player Committee is to maintain fair play in the arena:
* Warriors that participate in Tournaments will be sent to the Dark Arena until they
are dead. This means that the Player Committee has the power to send another

player's warrior to the Dark Arena
* Managers that abuse the rules of the Arena may be banned/transferred from the

The player with the fourth most votes overall will fill slot 2 and that term expires
end of May 2007.

During the month that the chairperson's term expires the Player Committee will select
one of the remaining 4 players to be the next chairperson. During the month that any
member's term expires the arena will vote for a different player to join the Players'

3. Send a Diplomatic Note to Doc LeGrand's Lab [ARENA 81]

There are 4 steps to joining this arena
1) Send in a new team rollup to RSI with the following pledge taped/stapled to the
rollup sheet, or transfer a ZERO FIGHT EQUIVALENT TEAM to Arena 81 and send RSI the
following form.

No-Tournament Arena (81)

3) [Optional] send an e-mail to DekeYoung@Comcast.NET with your team name
4) [Optional] Send a Diplomatic Note to Doc LeGrand's Lab in Arena 81 with your team
name and intent to join Arena 81 and abide by the Arena rules.

RSI will be processing overviews for this arena as soon as you send them into
The first turn will run in January 2007. This will be a normal speed arena.
While I am encouraging everyone to use TEAM MAINTENANCE it is not mandatory.
The intent is that players that run turns will run a full team. One warrior teams
are discouraged and will a topic for the Player Committee to resolve.
I also encourage players to join the Duel2 Yahoo Group for faster updates and
feedback. http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/duel/
