Notes from the arena champ.
Well, when someone offers me such an easy Duelmaster throne, who am I to say no?
Heatblast, I'd like to congratulate you on a fight well-fought. But I can't.
First of all, I didn't appreciate you showing up nude to our fight. I mean, come on
man, cover up! Second of all, even nude you barely managed 7 swings before you were
huffing and puffing and asking me for a time out. Finally, you couldn't manage a
single attack that presented any challenge whatsoever. I hope you were taking notes
when I demonstrated proper form. I even did so with each hand to help with the
lesson. I've got to ask: This is what passes nowadays for Lord Protectorship
mettle?! Speaking of which, assuming you were using your favourites, I would
strongly suggest you consider something more appropriate to your inherent skill set,
like working a tollgate, digging ditches or changing out those little mints they put
in the bottom of privies to ease the smell.
Where was I? Oh yes, being charitable.
So I am thinking I would rather not be given Iaye's highest combat honor in such
a fashion. I didn't even think I was in consideration, given we had perfectly good--
using the term loosely of course--Challenger Champions around, not sure why it took a
lowly Champion who was just minding his own business, dodging any potential
challenges from Lenpros, to embarrass the current Duelmaster--again, using the term
loosely--on his way out.
Where was I? Oh, yes, saluting Iaye's best.
So I am going to step down from the throne into which I backed so ignominiously
in the hopes that one more worthy to take it from will arise. And I am going to hope
against hope that whomever does will bother to take the time to enlighten, praise and
encourage the warriors and managers of Iaye, as I have done here.
Until then, as someone or other said, "Not tonight, thanks, I've got to rest up
for my monster."

Well, what are you looking at, IAYE? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens before?
Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see
THE GREAT LAKES win a fight and gain 17 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, THE MIGHTY QUINN
beat THE GOBI and THE GOBI lost 8 points. You're breakin' my heart. Due to absence,
and inability to defend the throne, BABA O'RILEY has lost the Title of Duelmaster.
Start setting that alarm earlier! And it's out with the old, in with the new, as
YELLOWSTONE takes the Title and last week's bar tab from the old Duelmaster. Heh,
heh. Kickbacks and bribes, kickbacks and bribes, how else do you think some of these
guys win their fights? Skill? Ha!
Well, let's take a look at some more misdeeds of you miserable sword-boys.
What's the big D? SERPENTS HOLD was the most avoided team? Bunch of lily livered...
grumble... mumble... curse... And it looks like LENPROS avoided them the most this
turn. What a pack of would be losers, if you ask me. Hmph. GREY MATTER was
challenged more times this turn than the Duelmaster. Now was the DM insulted or
feared? Heh, heh. I suspect either a 21 will or a 21 ego on this one, but JACK RYAN
has challenged up by 31 in an attempt against YELLOWSTONE. And, oof! JACK RYAN saw
stars around its helmet, after losing the fight, and disappointing the crowds, I
might add. I guess I can give a little credit to OUTBACK JACK of ALL JACKED UP for
challenging up by 20 to GREY MATTER. OUTBACK JACK lost to get 82 points of
recognition.
Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. Titanium shields and bamboo daggers, guess
what brave team is developing these kinds of weapons?
There's got to be a better place in IAYE to get a drink than The Wharf Rat! Any
suggestions? Well, I've had enough of this drivel, and I'm sure you have too. Off
