Thinking about all that had passed in between, he had been so young and obnoxious back then. For a few months he had even fought in the arena on his wife's team before the commission ordered him to move it. He remembered the great war against Allah and his minions. Those were the days; what warriors today could stand against the likes of Kurd, Earth Elemental, Elmer Fudd, or Blood Mary-- the list could go on and on. For too long his focus has been on the tourney, perhaps it was time to find his roots, and relight the flame that once burned? He reached for the bell and rang it. Shortly a servant appeared at his side. Without taking his eyes off the city below, he said, "Assemble them here for me, and make sure he attends this time. I have a surprise for him." Four warriors were relaxing in the common area of the guildhouse when the servant arrived. "He would like for all of you to attend him in the study." He looked around for one more and not seeing him, asked, "Where is he? His presence is also required." The youngest of the group said, "Why bother him? The last time he was allowed to fight in the arena, I was still in diapers. Leave him in peace, he's out back practicing for the tourney." "It is not for me to decide. Tell the master that I will bring him. Now off to the study before I get Speedy, Huey, and Sam to help you on your way." said the servant. In the study five waited on one. Four of them sat in chairs and couches around the room. One still sat staring out the window with his back to all. The door burst open, half splintering off its frame. Standing in the doorway was a warrior clad in scale, carrying a steel cap in one hand and a longsword in the other. His hair was white, his skin appeared weathered and aged. There was a gauntness about him, and his eyes seemed empty and black. "How dare you demand my presence at one of your cluster @#$% meetings! I am not one of your little minions, running around kissing your feet and doing your bidding." He gestured to the four other warriors in the room. He walked across the room and drove his longsword through the top of the desk and into the floor, shouting, "FOR THE LAST FOURTEEN YEARS, I HAVE FOUGHT FOR YOU! I HAVE BLED FOR YOU!! I EVEN DIED FOR YOU!!! AND WHAT DO I GET IN RETURN? AM I ALLOWED TO BECOME DUELMASTER AND ASCEND TO THE THRONE, NO!!! AM I ALLOWED TO RECEIVE MY RIGHTFUL PLACE ON THE ISLE, NO!!! DO I EARN ANY OF THE GLORY THAT YOU ALLOW THE OTHERS TO HAVE, NO!!! AND WHY IS THIS? BECAUSE OF YOUR OBSESSION WITH THE TOURNEY!!! BECAUSE OF THE TOURNEY, YOU HAVE ME THROW FIGHTS!!! BECAUSE OF THE TOURNEY, I AM NOT ALLOWED TO FIGHT IN THE ARENA AND EARN GLORY!!! BECAUSE OF THE TOURNEY, I AM ONLY ALLOWED TO FIGHT FOUR TIMES A YEAR, AND EVEN THEN I'M NOT ALLOWED TO WIN MORE THAN SEVEN FIGHTS!!! ONLY ONCE DID YOU LET ME TRULY FIGHT, AND THAT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS THE ONLY WAY YOU COULD GET ME BACK FROM THE DEAD!!!" As the echoes died down in the room, he slumped into a chair and began to sob into his hands. A voice was heard from the chair behind the desk. "Over the last few months I have found my interest in the arena waning. I had considered retirement, but that didn't work last time so why would it work now? In an effort to revitalize my interest in the games, I have decided to go back to my roots and reactivate the first team I managed in Alastari. This affects all of you because I plan on managing a team of five warriors not four." A head came up in hope. "Furthermore, we will be going on the warpath, and the only manager that I still have any grudges with is Firedork." A few chuckles were heard. "So we will be going to war against the Lamehawks, which will probably mean the VC will join in also, since Loserhawk belongs to their alliance" For the first time in the meeting, Rascally Rabbit turned from the window and faced his team. "Now gather round so we can talk strategy. Loony Toons is going to war." * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * THE HARBINGER ARRIVES The giant hawk came out of the clouds like a speeding arrow. So quick was its descent that few in Chimlevtal saw it. It landed with a clack of talons on the roof of the fortified guildhouse of The Stormguards. A door to the roof promptly opened and two Lord Protectors appeared. One, a human, Ciaran Ap Gryffyydd, the other a Minotaur, Kaz. Both placed their right fist upon their hearts and slightly nodded. "Well met, M'Lord." said Ciaran. Sliding off the giant brown bird of prey was a towering figure. He quickly unbuckled the saddle and placed it on the roof. He did the same with his saddlebags and lance. He looked the great bird in its eyes and said something in a language the two Stormguards did not understand. With that the great hawk let out an ear-piercing scream and leapt into the air with a rush of wings. Within seconds it had flown up, over and out of Chimlevtal. The figure spun and returned the honor to Ciaran and Kaz. "No need to call me Lord. True, I was knighted by an Earl, but then again he probably would revoke that title since several months later I was forced to usurp and put his nephew in charge." He chuckled to himself and then refocused. "It's good to be here and meet the mighty Stormguards as friends." They then shook hands. The man stood well over six feet tall. He was 285 pounds of solid muscle. His looks were somewhat unusual. This was because his Grandfather had been an Efreeti. All his other lineage was of the Dervish race. His skin was slightly red in color and he had a malevolent look in his black eyes. His black hair was tied in a ponytail and his beard was neatly trimmed. A large scar was across his left cheek. He wore red dragon-scale armor, red trousers in the style of the corsairs and red cape. Black boots of fine quality, a necklace of red dragon teeth and a circlet of red upon his head finished his wear. He drew his magical broadsword and spoke a word of command; it quickly transformed into a sword of flame! "I salute The Council of Lords, my sword is yours to command." With that he again spoke the command, the flame went out and he resheathed the weapon. "Well met." smiled Ciaran. "Your quarters are ready." As they gathered up his gear, the warrior stated, "I'll stow what I got here but I plan on heading out to a certain area of town. I hear there are lots of rats in this town that talk tough. Let the rats try anything with me and I'll bust their faces in." "No doubt." chuckled Kaz. "You'll find that the cartel scum that run their mouths are cowards and nothing more. It is an insult to one's blade to slice them." "Maybe so." grunted the man. "But I always play by MY rules. Anyone who lips off to my face will be dealt with. There is a new player in Chimlevtal." * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * THE REVENANT (part 20) The Revenant looked out upon the battle and carnage before his crumbling keep. Fires blazed everywhere. The great Druidess, Polar Bear, flew by yet again on her giant Snowy Owl and cast yet another fireball into the ranks of his Goblin allies. Their ranks had been decimated by her spells and High Lord Bosk's sword. The berserk Gnome continued to hack and destroy any and all Goblins or Worgs that he could reach. Unbelievably, the Centaurs had entered the fray! Chief Oakclub had answered Polar Bear's summon and his clan were now tearing into the Goblin army with arrows, clubs and hooves. Only the Goblins' abject fear of The Revenant prevented them from fleeing and that would only last so long. Now, being hit from all sides, the rout was on. The Revenant was a most powerful entity. Returning from the negative material plane, its sole purpose was to wreck havoc upon those that caused an end to its previous evil life. Bosk and The Icelord had brought its human existence to an end, right here, so many years ago. Its evilness in its past life carried over to the afterworld and it willed itself to return to Polaris. So great were its powers that the undead being traveled to Ghea to pursue and attack the two heroes. It attempted to kill their beloved friend, Polar Bear, to harm them. That attempt failed and they nearly destroyed the undead being. It escaped back to Polaris, here, to make a final stand against their retaliation. The Revenant had been confident. None had ever stood against his dark powers. Now, after the battle on Ghea, seeing his Goblin army being torn asunder and being unable to stop The Icelord from destroying the magical barrier about his keep, The Revenant knew doubt...and fear. The Icelord walked with a grim determination toward the mansion. The Arch-mage was not pleased. He despised evil and this undead being that continually ran and hid behind his minions angered him. He knew now who it was and why this being had come. He knew its only purpose was to strike at those who had ended its evil life. The Icelord was determined to end his evil unlife and send this Revenant to Niflheim for good. The Icelord had destroyed the magical barrier and entered the keep's ground. No more death and wounding spells assailed him. He knew his foe was regrouping and waiting his arrival. A dozen ghouls charged him. With a wave of his hand he incinerated them with magical flame. Dozens of hands clawed out from the earth and the wizard found nearly three-dozen zombies surrounding him. Without hesitation he made a slow circle, pointing his staff at the advancing horde while chanting a spell. An enormous wall of fire turned the zombies into ash. He then quickly cast and forked an enormous lightning bolt that killed two gargoyles that were flying to attack him. He continued forward, intent on ending this battle once and for all. The screams of the Goblins were less now as so many of them were dead. Bosk saw his target, the great Goblin Chief, who had been waiting for him. Bosk's sword cut down two more Goblins and he then sprinted toward the Chief. The Goblin Chief, Agsnarf, raised his giant club and spurred his jet-black Worg forward. Bosk sprang to his left just as the tearing maw of the great wolf prepared to meet him. His sword sliced the right side of the beast's neck and then continued into Agsnarf's right leg. The Goblin snarled, the Worg yelped, a great club swooshed over Bosk's now ducking head and then rider and beast tumbled to the ground. Agsnarf groaned as the ground pushed the air from his lungs and the club flew from his hand. He quickly scrambled up though, ignoring the pain in his leg. Bosk dispatched another Goblin that charged him and then turned toward Agsnarf, who pulled a Gnomish hooked-hammer from his belt. He stepped over the dead Worg, a look of pure hatred in his eyes. Bosk, seeing the foul being wielding a weapon of his people, charged forward roaring a curse, sword held high. * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * }%|[-----+O+-----]|%{ * HAMMERZ HERALD Death Fest Dada Data Edition/Diabolical Delarq Declaration by Hammer Behold, they belch out [insults] with their mouths; swords [of sarcasm, ridicule, slander, and lies] are in their lips, for who, they think, hear us? -- Psalms 59:7 Amplified Bible Sensational News about Hammer negotiating the Re-Opening of Delarq Tor DM 58 as a Slow Arena "Prize Package" for the DM 59 Death Fest Illis Iron Stable Award Winners was spreading all across the Delarq Federation quicker than Dragon Fire!!!!! Man, I thought I'd never get to the top of this nearly impossible arena. I don't expect to stay here long, but am happy to be here now. I salute my master, High Lord Bosk and The Icelord for perservering with me all this time. Ever since I tore a ligament in my sword arm, I've been mediocre at best and that does NOT cut it in Chimlevtal!!! I salute my fellow gladiators! Nemo mi impune lacassite! Hail to the Council of Lords!!! -- Vili SPY REPORT I can't believe the violence in CHIMLEVTAL! I still haven't told Mom I'm writing Spyreports. She'd have a cow! Well, here we go... I couldn't believe it. Did MILITARY MAYHEM really go up by 18? If only those guys didn't have so may missing teeth... Gross! Cut this out and put it in your scrapbooks, SOL INVICTUS! 'Cause they got 5-0-0 and moved up to 5th! MVP award for BUSTER BUNNY? LOONY TOONS' proud of him after beating TRASHIUS and getting 46 points. Talk about yer big time losers! TRASHIUS got smashed by BUSTER BUNNY, and lost 22 points! Like, LUCKY 7 must be pretty gutsy! She challenged the Duelmaster from LORDS OF VALHALLA. Does this gal have a death wish or what! And I was just getting used to the ex-Duelmaster's habit of...(!) Oh well, welcome LUCKY 7. Aren't NUMBERS GAME proud. (Oh, my.) Who was the wiseguy that said CHIMLEVTAL's Duelmaster was paying for drinks at The Mourngrym Inn and Tavern? Don't look at me! Look, you guys stick to fighting, all right? The warriors of THE STORMBRINGERS must be getting lonely. They were the most avoided team. Do you guys know something that I don't? Hhmph! What kind of warriors are SRETSAMLEUD? THE STORMBRINGERS, an easy team to beat if I ever saw one, can't get them to accept an invitation! Like, is CALYPSO popular, or what? He was challenged the most in all of CHIMLEVTAL! He's got a 8-6-0, is that good? TIGBASA is being unfair. He's challenged down 33 against TOBIAS HAWKWIND. I don't know why they let this stuff go on. (I'd better shut up) I was sorry to see such an unfair "fight" in CHIMLEVTAL. TIGBASA got 9 points after beating TOBIAS HAWKWIND, 33 points below him. Speaking of challenging 32 points above did you hear about RYU-KISHIN of OVERLORDS vs. LOONY TOONS' DIXIE SCUM? (And how was that intro!) Like, was that some fighting on RYU-KISHIN's part, or what? And he got 26 points out of it! (besides getting in my report) Poor DIXIE SCUM. See if I ever talk to FERNANDO again! VALKYRIE was so low when He challenged he. Hhmph! If FERNANDO can't beat a warrior 21 points below himself, that he CHALLENGED, he oughtta be selling food in the stands! Ooh! Did TAZ really know what he was doing when he challenged DAMHAIN THE SATYR? A 2-2-0 speaks volumes. (Zontoni said that. I don't know what it means.) TAZ lost to DAMHAIN THE SATYR, but he got 1 points. DAMHAIN THE SATYR won, and got 4 points. I don't get it. What does a fighter fight for? I mean, the crowds don't give a hoot if someone gets killed. Not after four more fights. I hear WILLBENDERS sent SIR PELLEAS to the Dark Arena. What, is that like not well-lit, or what? Fight, fight, fight. Is that all you guys can do? I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be a famous Spyreporter? I gotta leave. CHIMLEVTAL is like such a dump, and you guys smell too much! Hussah! Fengar is nipping at his heels. Well managed, My Brother! I'll be seeing you in a couple days! -- High Lord Bosk Firehawk -- Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be back in the Arena full time and plan picking up where we left off many years ago. The only way to avoid it is to admit defeat, and explain why you started our war in the first place. -- RR VC -- My issues with Firehawk extend to long before he was a member, if I remember correctly. So I have no issues with y'all. But I understand that he is in your alliance, and you may be honor bound to have his back for him. -- Rascally Rabbit All -- Buster Bunny will be running full time from now on. I haven't ran him in arena in over ten years (tons of bagging and stat training). Since I have no clue what will happen, I will be aiming for non-vitals, and even though I don't believe in KD (at least in the way most do) I will be running a low KD also. -- Rascally Rabbit Tripwire -- Nice to see you here. -- RR Icelord -- The old war was great; here's to the latest one. I just wish some of the old-timers that you mentioned would come back also. -- RR Icelord -- The Looney Toons you noted on turn 20, was, I believe, a different team (note the spelling). I first started here during Bloody Mary's undefeated run. -- RR High Lord Bosk -- It has been along time since we last talked; nice to see you. -- RR Crip -- Hope to see you at the FTF. -- RR COL -- If the VC decide to step into the tussle between Firehawk and myself, then you can count me in with y'all. Otherwise I'd prefer to keep it between myself and Firehawk, until he cries for help from his VC buddies. -- RR Spatha -- Nothing like a good old fashioned upset. Now it's time to decide if I should go into the Inits tourney or not. -- General Purpose Les Nayle -- We meet again. I like this result significantly more than last time we crossed paths. -- General Electric Mani -- As with Purpose, nothing like a good old fashioned upset. Of course, I'm not pleased this time around. -- Psych Major Faolan Ap Gryffyd -- Much better, and I really like both the north and south trains. -- Commander Spud The Icelord -- As always, well said. -- Polar Bear & Stormwatch Vili -- Well done on taking the title! You and High Lord Bosk bring pride and honor to The Council. -- Polar Bear & Stormwatch Tobias Hawkwind -- You sure are frail, but then all cartel criers are! So far, I am 7-1 against the Crying cartel. HA! -- Lord Protector Tigbasa Crimson Zit -- Hiding? -- Stormwatch Duelmaster Vili -- It is great and grand that you hold the title in glorious Chimlevtal! We salute you and High Lord Bosk on this accomplishment. Well done. -- The Icelord, The Stormguards and Overlords Lord Protector Tigbasa -- Congrats, mighty warrior! Your record is most impressive! The Criers will be glad you are gone since you kicked the snot out of so many of them! Hats off to you and Lady Polar Bear. -- The Icelord High Lord Bosk -- It was MOST hussah to swill some ale and attend the Rush concert with you, my brother! The power trio was awesome! What a great show. (Hey, those Texas ribs weren't too bad either!) -- The Icelord (If anyone has a chance to catch Rush out there now on their 30th anniversary tour, you should; good stuff.) Manager Darque -- Bring in about 10 more teams. I yawn at your attempts to run me out of town. -- The Icelord Manager Dorque -- Be silent, you sniveling boot-licking lackey. Continue to polish my boots and speak not or I might just cut out your tongue, peon. -- Lord Protector Uncas Ghab -- I noticed your downchallenge with Malice. I normally could care less about downchallenges, HOWEVER, you stated on the RT that a "downchallenge is ALWAYS cowardly." Did you mean "always, always" or "always, unless...." You also attempted to flame me on this topic. If it is because of me that you now have justification to downchallenge then I am glad to have changed your thinking and your codes. Welcome to the club, hypocrite. Fire away. -- The Icelord Imelda -- Like Goatgirl, you're pathetic! -- Damhain the Satyr RTR -- The Crying Cartel bellow and blather but run like rats when confronted with a blade. I didn't see Crimson Zit or Jimblow this turn; did you already dump them in the bay? I know you'll make this a most interesting summer, harbinger. TOP CAREER HONORS-CH TEAM: The Stormguards. UNCH TEAM: Violent Hommes. There were 30 listed teams. The most popular style was LU with 12 fights. Tigbasa -- Quite the impressive record! Well done. You've done the Council of Lords proud! -- High Lord Bosk The Icelord -- Was most great and grand seeing you and watching the Bards play for our pleasure! Hussah! -- High Lord Bosk Mice Lord, Gerbil King -- First of all, nice warrior with "Damhain the Satyr." Second, I wonder even if you know how to read since all you really are is a loser lipped wench who can't even make a decent living in his/her own bar. Go and get "Ricky" to read the newsletters to you so that you now know I fight with the red and white and black banner of "Vendett@ United." Since the editors miss my p-ads most of the time, I wonder how much that is costing your council of fools? Back to the facts, your data base of 800 enema warriors only makes each victory even sweeter to me, knowing that I am going against such a machiavellian of the game. I will make sure that all the water will be dried off my ears, so that your armor will not rust while I am butting you around your guildhouse. By the way, your "fools" have five stables here in my home arena. Oh, I forgot about your newest "fooling" "Ricky". Six to one that sound fair to me. So blow smoke at someone else. Bring it to the sands, has been. -- Goat RTR -- Sorry to read that you are even claiming any association with the council of fools. A sharpened pole with your name has been added to the field of sorrow. As for your purpose, I see you have not even claimed your stable, typical fooling behavior. Are you sure you even remember who you are? By the way I am not involved with the V.C. and fool's war anymore. They are such easy marks I have decided to nail them every chance I get. -- Goat Vendett@United -- Pound the fools into the sand. -- Coup D 'Tat Mendal Omshil -- One Hit's will was always a sticking point for me. He was a blessed "average" warrior who came to me with a 3 WL, which I made 9. He was a classic dixie cup slasher who I held onto too long due to his propensity for killing when he won. His replacement made his sacrifice well worth it. -- Ghab/Assassin Nation Terrible Two -- That was a terrible two minute bout for me. I'll look out for you in the future. -- Foreshadow Why Not -- Ok, that makes it all five of my arena fights against warriors from your stable. The other teams are starting to get jealous! -- Tombstone Wow, quite the purge of warriors graduating to ADM. Congrats to all the graduates. -- Ghab/Assassin Nation Vili -- Expertly done! What a great comeback after I got off to a strong start a knockdown, you hung in there, got back on your feet and finished things. -- Inmar Toledo -- I wasn't expecting that challenge. I'll have to keep my eye on the Sretsamleud guild. -- Rauni General Purpose -- That kind of an upset gets me considered for the night fights. -- Spatha Psych Major -- I'm not sure how that happened. -- Mani Skuld -- Well done. I'll see you out on the sands. -- Horagalles Icelord -- Salvatore writes the best fight scene in the biz. You also need to check out the Dark Elf trilogy. Another writer I recommend is Sara Douglas. Her Wayfarer Redemption is the best trilogy I've read since Icewind Dale. -- Abraxis All -- Sir Tristan is history! I guess I need to work on Parry Strikers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -- Abraxis Got Hammered -- You were ready for me, I see! I like that in an opponent. Along with humility, poor aim, and so on. But I wouldn't have minded if you had also been ready to TEACH well. I could use some more skills. I really want to reach double- digit wins, and they tell me skills will help with that. -- Norgen Pelh Kirken Tournin -- Perhaps you'd have done better if the sun hadn't been so bright? I never thought before what a handicap that must be to a night hawk. -- Kambard Murh P.S. But I really appreciate the way you go around eating up fling insects. Great work, keep it up! Uracca Evenstar -- I think you put up a good fight there, but I really wish they'd print these fights with a larger, blacker typeface.... -- Mendal Omshil General Electric -- When you hit me the first time, it was shocking. When you hit me the second time, it was re-volting. -- Les Nayle Jarl Forkbeard -- More of a trident than a simple fork, if you ask me. -- Kolum Marod Icelord -- I have been RSI gaming since '96 and I hold a completely different view about Forgotten Realms than Abraxis. If you are into useless details, increasing turn cost and a horrible combat system, then Forgotten Realms is indeed your game. But, if you are a serious war gamer, then Hyborian War is your best bet. 36 different countries, each with their own unique characters and troop types. Turn rates are fixed at 5.00, 7.00 or 9.00; no matter how much territory you acquire. I played for four years and ran countries like Pictland, Asgard, Aquilonia, Zamora, Kusan, Vendhya (and more) to top ten finishes. The only weakness in the system is their rankings. Some countries vault to first very easily and it is difficult to dislodge them unless you attack them directly. For example: I was running Asgard and had over 40 provinces, I was ranked in second. The leader was Cimmeria (a friend of mine) and he only had 17 or 18 provinces. Instead of attacking him, I dropped. But I'll admit I had over 200 Wolfraven Reavers ready to smash him at command. Damn my conscience! -- CFH P.S. The only reason I quit playing was because I couldn't be beat. No competition. That's why I play DM now. Icelord -- Salvatore is indeed a fine writer. No one describes melee combat like he does. I admit that Drizzt is a bad-ass, but Artemis Entreri is the man. -- CFH P.S. To really appreciate the character Drizzt Do'urdan, you must read the Dark Elf trilogy. P.P.S. The "Death Gate cycle" by Hickman and Weiss is the best fantasy I have ever read (7 books). Check it out. Blows their Dragonlance stuff away. Firehawk -- Your flames were sooooo close, bro! -- CFH P.S. Maybe next year! P.P.S. Anyone but the Redwings! Now we turn our attention to baseball. Some of us get teams like the Blue-Jays (sorry Brett), some of us get the Astros. For those of you who like the ride on the bandwagon, there's the Yankees. -- CFH P.S. Football is the sport of sports.... Go Cowboys! 16 June 2004 Death Fest Begins July 29/DM 59 T-172 "You drive a hard bargain Hammer," responded Lord Lian Ki Na-Sul, "but the Gladiatorial Commission has agreed to re-open DM 58 Delarq Tor as a Slow Arena exclusively for a period of six months to those Death Fest contestants who fight their stables at least 67 times out of a possible 75 during the 15 rounds of Death Fest; on the condition that at least 20 stables qualify for the Illis Iron Stable Award at the conclusion of the Death Fest and those qualifying managers send a New Stable to DM 58 Delarq Tor without Cannibalizing their participation in the other arenas where they have active stables!" Hammer felt a certain sense of satisfaction as he studied the ghoulish grin spreading across the face of Lord Lian Ki Na-Sul; proud Arena Master of the once dying Illis Arena, as the DM 59 Arena Authority signed the Gladiatorial Commission papers authenticating the arrangement agreed upon by the two parties presiding. "You and the Gladiatorial Commission also drive a hard bargain," Hammer replied as he reflected upon the prospects of Delarq Tor DM 58 being re-opened as a Slow Arena with at least 20 New Stables by the Managers who fight their stables at least 67 times out of a possible 75 during the 15 rounds of Death Fest. "I also notice the clause that for Delarq Tor to be open Exclusively for 6 months to the New Stables managed by the Illis Iron Stable Award Winners that there must be at least 15 stables Active each cycle. That is a fair bargain for the opportunity to battle for the Duelmaster Throne each of those six months before Other New Stables are allowed to enter Delarq Tor." This was a Golden Opportunity for both Veteran and Newbie Managers to pave a new frontier of Delarq history by qualifying their Death Fest stables in DM 59 with 67 fights out of a possible 75; then for the price of running a stable in a Regular Arena, continuing to be Active in DM 59 and sending a New Team Roll Up to be a part of "History in the Making" when Delarq Tor would re-open for its First Turn as a Slow Arena on November 3rd, 2005. Death Fest would conclude on T-186 August 25th, 2005 allowing the Illis Iron Stable Award Winners enough time to be registered with the Gladiatorial Commission; whereupon they would be able to submit a New Team Roll Up to the GC to start a New Stable in Delarq Tor; be able to fight those New Gladiators in the Rookies 2005 Fall Mailer Tourney; then begin competing for the DM 58 Duelmasters Throne in Delarq Tor right out of the gate with the November 3rd 2005 T-1 Debut Opening Round. Hammer of the First Part had also negotiated with Lord Na-Zul of the Second Part an agreement that All 10 Dark Arena Monsters and 17 NPCs Characters be re-named by the Top Ten Death Fest Finishers. [See DM 59 T-171 Newsletter Team Spotlight by Hammer for the complete listing of Dark Arena Monsters/NPCs and the Official Death Fest Designation for which Top Ten Finishers re-name which characters!] Lord Na-Sul could not hide his delight at the prospects of Death being re- delivered to his once dying arena during the Delarq Death Fest; the DM 59 Arena Master agreed that these Death Fest Prizes were but a Small Exchange in Comparison to the Profits to be made by the local Illis business merchants and surrounding community from the Anticipated Influx into Illis by the Veteran and Newbie Managers/Gladiators/Stables seeking to make History in the Delarq Death Fest. Nor could Hammer conceal his jubilation regarding the Call Across Alistari being Answered to Cross Blades and Match Wits with the Devious, the Diabolical, the Dangerous and the Down Challenging who were being drawn to the Delarq Death Fest to Fulfill their Delarq Dueling Destiny!
