ON COUNCIL BUSINESS
(part 3)
Once again, The Icelord and High Lord Bosk walked the streets of Chimlevtal.
They, along with the Elven Druidess Polar Bear, had recently battled and defeated the
undead being known as The Revenant. The conflict had raged on the streets of
Chimlevtal, to an old mansion outside its walls, to the great planet of Polaris. It
had been a war of steel and spell. Their vengeance having been enacted, they
returned to Ghea to continue plans few knew about.
It was long past sunset. A few sputtering lamps gave off a sickly light as the
duo walked upon the cobbled streets. The Icelord, a human wizard who stood about
6'1, kept his cowl up and over his head. His silver and gold-trimmed robe fairly
glowed and the tapping of his staff on the street was steady.
High Lord Bosk, a Polarian Gnome Fighter, stood just over 5 feet tall. He
bristled with weapons, most magical and a sparkle of cunning and mischief was always
in his steel-gray eyes. His beard was nearly to his waist and he took a draw from
his wine-skin as they walked along.
For many minutes the blood-brothers walked in silence on the winding back
streets. The salt air from the Storm Sea was brisk. Without warning, The Icelord
pointed his staff to a shadowy corner and uttered a word of power. With a shriek, a
small, repulsive being was caught and held in a yellow globe. The creature snared by
the spell was an imp. The small being, barely 3 feet tall, had the appearance of a
small devil. Claws, leathery wings, sharp fangs, small horns, huge nose and even a
pointed tail. It shrieked and hopped about in the globe, looking for escape.
"I was about to lop off its head." grunted Bosk as he drew a dagger and
approached the globe.
The Icelord replied, "This rat is a spy for our enemies. I wish to send a
message."
The Icelord waved his staff and the globe disappeared. His other hand shot out
before the imp could react and grabbed the creature by the throat. The helpless spy
gurgled, "I...helps...ifs..." to which the mage spun and threw the imp against a
brick wall with a sickening thud.
The imp lay on the ground, head spinning and gave a small cough. The Icelord
walked up to the fiend and smashed its hand with the heel of his boot. "Tell your
dark master we are back and have not forgotten the slights and provocations against
The Council while we were occupied by bigger fish." The mage then whacked the imp in
the nose with his staff. The creature groaned and blubbered "just doing as
commanded..."
Bosk walked up to the horrid minor-devil and kicked it in the ribs. "Aye, we've
been dealing with much bigger fish, The Revenant. Now tell your pathetic master
that, unfortunately for him, we are back and focused on all that transpires in
Chimlevtal. Go!"
With that the imp leaped up, blubbering "yes, master" and took flight. Out of
the shadows, a huge human, dress in red-dragon scale armor appeared. He grabbed the
imp with his right hand and came very close to the gibbering creature's face. "Tell
your pathetic master I will kick his teeth in if he crosses my path. Unlike these
two, I will not obey the laws of Chimlevtal if it doesn't suit me." He tossed the
imp against the same brick wall with an even more bone-crunching result.
The trio turned and began walking down the alley. "That was rather rude."
chuckled Bosk.
"Just so." growled Raoul. "I am having a problem following your wishes. I want
to kill every one of our enemies and put their heads on pikes on the city wall."
"No doubt you could with ease, my friend." replied The Icelord. "But our plans
stand and we support and will obey the laws of our friends Lord Kinnishan and
Shau'nin Snowbeard. If we were to catch the whelps outside the city walls, then, all
is fair."
Rauol, who had Efreet in his blood-line, growled, but remained quiet. After
many moments, The Icelord stated, "I have a mission for you, harbinger."
"What do you command?" Raoul replied, sensing action.
The trio stopped and The Icelord turned. "I wish you to go across the Trier
Sea, to one of the Gargoyle Islands. There is someone there I wish you to see and
conduct a business transaction."
Bosk chuckled. Rauol rubbed his chin and nodded. "Some action, good. Are you
talking about the old crone?"
"I am." replied The Icelord. "Don't kill her. Take flight on your giant
warhawk and carry out the mission. I think you will like the results."
"I am sure I will." replied Rauol. "I accept this mission. Maybe I'll get to
kill something on my travels."
"I have no doubt you'll somehow find the opportunity to do so, my friend. Good
luck and we will see you in a couple weeks."
With that, Rauol the Rude disappeared into the darkness once again.
DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Hello, all. I am honored to be the Duelmaster in the great city of Chimlevtal!
I am also honored to now be a Lord Protector! Once again The Council of Lords hold
the title, much to the chagrin of Master Dork and his flunkies at the Crying Cartel.
I want to thank Polar Bear. Though she is back on Polaris, her training and
management are why I am here. I also thank The Icelord, High Lord Bosk and Rauol the
Rude for their guidance and leadership.
Though I doubt my challenge will go through, I will blood-feud Blond Moment this
turn.
Before I depart, I give you this recent history fact: I am 8-4 against the
Crying Cartel. (If you saw my stats you'd DA yourselves, Criers.)
May all have a great 2005.
Lord Protector Napulak of Stormwatch

SPY REPORT
You elder fighters surely remember me. The younger ones may call me Olaf
Modeen. I return to CHIMLEVTAL once again! Woof! WHAMMO & THUDDA 4 U! were a bunch
of dogs after WHY DID I DO IT got through with 'em! 4th ain't so sweet as 1st!
Phhbltt! Too much drinking and too little dodging gave KOSMOS'S MATRIX a 0-0-0! I
got a good laugh out of it! Ya gotta be quick on yer feet! Keep your elbow off the
table! Thrust! Block out the pain! MILITARY MAYHEM is now ranked 2nd with a 4-1-2
turn. NUMBERS GAME showed CHIMLEVTAL what they were made of as they fought with a
vengeance to walk off with 4-1-0. A team with purpose! A team with the skill to
back up their boasts! Getting a 5-0-1 their first time out is VENDETTA HAMMERZ.
What's with COMMANDER SPUD? He actually beat THE STORMBRINGERS' DASKON, and walked
away with 24 more points from the fight. Major screwup at THE STORM REAVERS.
VENGEANCE lost 15 points to SALEM. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe VENGEANCE
will provide more easy wins... CHIMLEVTAL has a Duelmaster who doesn't sit back and
get lazy. She Bloodfeuded WHY DID I DO IT's BLOND MOMENT (9-3-3), which should prove
(ahem!) interesting. I can barely restrain my enthusiam for WHY DID I DO IT's
outstanding member, Duelmaster BLOND MOMENT. I suppose you want to hear some rumors
and dirty gossip about your fellow fighters? Tough!
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports. How
well I know the feeling of being in the most avoided team! Don't fall out of
practive, STORMWATCH! The bums at NUMBERS GAME couldn't face the challenges from
STORMWATCH! No excuse for that! What do people see in KIRKEN TUORNIN? His 16-16-2?
THE NIGHTHAWKS ain't talkin', but he's got 87 points. Keep challenging up 26 points,
ABYSSINIAN, and I won't have to write about you much longer. CHERRY 2000 always
accepts those kind of challenges... As I expected, CHERRY 2000 won ABYSSINIAN. Not
to start anything, but, ABYSSINIAN, now that you've faced her and seen his style, you
might try it again! Taunt your opponent A BET! That was my lucky charm when I was
unfairly challenged. (and by 27 points!) ARYXIMARAKI should have an easy win. Just
who can ARYXIMARAKI beat? I mean, the last matchup with lesser-ranked A BET shoulda
been a piece of cake!
Warriors of CHIMLEVTAL unite. You have only your games to lose! Hmm... More
surprises must remain in store for me, if GENERAL PUBLIC can return from the Dark
Arena. Sending a warrior to the Dark Arena reminds the others they'd better shape
up. Tough beans, HARALD FAIRHAIR. That's what a 4-8-0 gets you. DASKON of THE
STORMBRINGERS didn't know when to quit. When you've got a 15-22-1, that's a good
sign. Now he's dead. A BET of WHY DID I DO IT got 31 points for removing another
young punk. Tough luck, OVERLORDS! Tut, tut. How well I know and share OVERLORDS'
grief over the loss of ARYXIMARAKI. How well I know A BET's pride at killing a
higher-ranked! MAGOG was plum wore out after HELM HAMMERHAND pounded 'im silly in a
Bloodfeud. DARQUE FORCES'll have to get a little better before going after HELM
HAMMERHAND again! Here's some advice: study your opponent, master many skills,
fight dirty.
Well, I'm pretty much through. You guys need to get back practicing. The end
of another Spyreport! That's cause for celebration in my book! Remember--a good
fighter needs both good skills and good luck. Until next time,-- Olaf Modeen

Magog -- Ouch! I forgot to dodge. -- Mani
All -- Godspeed at the tournament and have a Happy Halloween! -- Bobby Bigfoot and
Sol Invictus
RTR -- No BF??? Napulak afraid? Oh well, Blond records yet another victory against
COL. See ya. -- Fizban
Updated -- Fiz 17-5-3 vs. COL. 7-1-0 on my challenges. Just keeping the record
straight. -- Fizban
Greyscales -- Heh. Heh. Heh. -- Blond
Mendal -- Well fought. -- Hammered
Donna -- Oh Donna, why?! Why must you vex me. -- A Bet
Napulak -- Well done on taking the title! I see Raul the Rude is keeping you
Stormwatch warriors in line! Hussah! -- High Lord Bosk
Fizban -- Shhhh! You talk too much, whelp. -- High Lord Bosk
Duelmaster Napulak -- Congratulation on taking the title and your invite! Well done.
I salute you, Polar Bear, and yes, even that rogue Rauol. -- The Icelord
RTR -- It is great to have you in Chimlevtal. 600, all in Chimlevtal, is my goal.
Crip might have a team pretty close too. If you're buying the keg, I'll be there.
May The Golden One guide you as you head for the Gargoyle Islands. -- The Icelord
High Lord Bosk -- The bet was made and your mighty Stormbringers win, making it to 25
kills first. Ironic that it came against one of my warriors, but Polarians
understand this is the way of the realms. I owe you a keg. Let us return Ragnar to
Polaris with honors. Salute. -- The Icelord
In Crysalis, on turn #150, The COL sponsored "Crysalis Craziness," an all-out bare-
handed brawl. 156 warriors fought, almost all unarmed. It was an historic event.
Many thanks to those who participated. -- The Council of Lords
Dis Tractions -- Welcome back. -- Overlords
Any Thieves World fans out there? The latest book "Enemies of Fortune" should be out
in December. A must read for all rogues, ruffians and gladiators. -- The Icelord
Kirken Tuornin -- Brilliant move. Let's do it again sometime. -- Zarendargar
Mercurial Madman -- Bona Na Croin (which means: "neither collar nor crown") has been
returned to Polaris with honors. We will bloodfeud. -- The Stormguards
The COL presents Chimlevtal History Facts: On turn #142 on 11/30/96: The DM was:

REC LDR: Diablo of Dark Heart Inc. POP LDR: Elvish Parsley of The Spice Pack.
WEEK'S FAV: Poledouris of The Stormbringers. CURRENT TOP TEAM: Black Plague. #1

Brits. BA: Diablo of Dark Heart Inc. There were 24 listed teams. The most popular
style was LU with 16.
Fizban of the Crying Cartel -- Here are some recent history facts for you. In 2003
The Council of Lords went 73-49-3 against your cartel. Every member of The COL had a
winning record against the cartel. As of turn #245, in 2004, The COL has a 66-59-1
record against the cartel. If your numbers are correct, you have saved Manager
Darque's bacon in 2004. He and Jimbo have recruited Firehawk, Prophet, Justice,
Conrad, Dr. Mabuse, Goat, Klown, Voodoo, Slaughter Priest, Sensei Jan, CFH, Abraxis,
Phat Pat, Hammer, Crimson Zit and yourself to fight their battle. There have been
more, but those are the ones I remember right now. No one has done Darque's bidding
and run The COL out of town. No one. You are making a difference, and I am sure
Darque is thankful. After your decent warriors graduate will you be here for the
long haul? Things can change quickly, deluded one, so beware. -- Braglane Bluethumb,
Chief Scribe, COL.
Polar Bear -- It is great to see Napulak take the title and graduate. Good job,
noble lady. -- RTR
Fizban -- I'm not impressed yet. I'll stop by the CHOIR and toss you out a window,
if you don't run as fast as Master Dorque. Blades high! -- RTR
The Icelord -- I stand ready for my mission to the Gargoyle Islands. I will return
victorious or on my shield. -- RTR
Jimblow and Crimson Zit -- Cowards. -- RTR
Anna Bolic -- Catabolize me for a pussycat. Ouch. Various other words and phrases
of chagrin. -- Les Nayle
Got Hammered -- (scowling) Doesn't that mean YOU should be the loser here? How
about if we cancel this fight and do it over? The right way. With ME winning. --
Mendal Omshil
P.S. And I'd be glad to hammer you to perfection.
Wulfgar -- I think your problem is in your choice of totemic animal. I know the wolf
has a fierce reputation, but they're actually decent, reliable, community-oriented,
peaceful fellows. You can see where that would pose a problem for a gladiator. --
Kambard Murh
P.S. And also, of course, my greater experience put you at an added disadvantage.
But that, surely, was a minor factor.
It Felt Good -- The heck it did! You broke my finger! -- Norgen Pelh
Aryximaraki -- But what if I don't WANT to be buried in the sand? What if I would
rather be seated at a bar quaffing ale? Have you thought of THAT? -- Kolum Marod
Unfit to be Orcs -- I offer my condolences for the loss of Florid Psycho at the hands
of Mani. I hope that his replacement will serve you well. Mani will accept a
bloodfeud challenge. -- Bobby Bigfoot, mgr. Sol Invictus

Youngblood's Three and Out Contest
I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what
I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before,
here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a
chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see
fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules
(like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later).
1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only.
2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.)
3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts.
4. All warriors will run until they lose three times, after three losses they are
eliminated.
5. If a warrior sits out a turn, they are accounted with a loss in the contest.
This is to keep warriors with winning records from sitting out until the end of
the contest.
6. If a warrior is killed during the contest, the replacement cannot enter the
contest.
7. If a warrior is killed, bloodfeuding is allowed, but only by a warrior that is
active in the contest.
8. If a warrior is run after being eliminated, the manager is disqualified from the
contest, no questions asked.
9. Challenges are legal, up or down.
10. Contest will keep going until 1 warrior is left without three losses, and that
warrior, of course, is accounted the winner.
11. All managers participating will be asked to purchase a rollup certificate, to be
awarded to the winners of the contest.
<<<PRIZES>>>
As I have already said, and according to participation, rollups will be awarded
to the first and second place managers. So the majority and minority of the rollups
will be determined when all are accumulated.
Contest Champion--2 Faves prizes, and majority of rollup certificates
Contest Runner-up--1 Faves prize, and minority of rollup certificates
So once again I invite all managers old and new to participate in what should be
a fierce and challenging contest. <<<REMEMBER, FIRST OFFICIAL TURN OF THE CONTEST IS
DECEMBER THE FIRST, AND AS I SAID BEFORE, THE TURN BEFORE (NOVEMBER 17TH) YOU MAY
DARK ARENA CHALLENGE ONLY!!! ANY WARRIOR WITH ANY FE (FIGHT EXPERIENCE) WHEN THE
CONTEST STARTS WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE CONTEST.

All you alliance-type people, I'm trying (again!) to get my alliance listing correct
and up to date. Either send me a diplo (address it to The Saint) or send your
updates to me directly at Sue at solberg-mathews.com. As you may guess, replace the
at with @ and you're good to go (I do hate spammy mail and this will end up on the
web).
I have information on the following alliances: ADIO, Allied Axis, Armada,
Brotherhood of Justice, Brotherhood of the Blade, Cadre, CDC, Chaos, Inc., Circle of
Order, Company of Brothers, Consortium, Council of Lords, Couple Good Guys, Crimson
Vengeance, DOA, DOOMcorps, Enigmafia, Eurosquad, Fascist Federation, FONZ,
Frothingslosh Syndicate, GAPPDA, Homeland Alliance, IT Alliance, Jingoists, kLk,
Knights of the Covenant, LBA, League Arcane, Legion6, Living Essences, Lords and
Ladies of Darkness, Manic Union, Midnight Foundation, Minions of Diana, Monarchs of
Montezuma, NCA, NIMROD, R.A.G.E., Seventh Sons, The Firm, The French Connection,
Vendett@ United, and the Vendetta Cartel.
If you are a member of one of these alliances, let me know. If you are a member of
some other alliance that isn't listed, let me know. If you were at any point in your
past a part of one of these alliance but are now independent, also let me know.
Going inactive doesn't mean you get removed from this list; people are assumed to
still be in the same alliance when they return. Even having everyone in an alliance
go inactive doesn't change anything. If an alliance is officially disbanding, that's
another thing you have to let me know....
The Saint, keeper of lists
P.S. If you already responded to my online plea (and I replied), you can ignore
this.

Hammer 500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups
Hosted by Hammer
Niytyole Island DM 33 has dwindled to the point where as of T-482 [duedate
November 3, 2004] there were only 2 active stables listed with 3 inactive stables in
a once thriving and lively regular arena.
During the past 40+ cycles Hammer has been hosting the Hammer Run for the Roll
Ups in DM 33.
Thus far only the Ripper and Slasher categories have produced winners to claim
the 5 New Team Roll Ups Prize for being the first declared Style Master of their
respective categories to graduate.
Every contending stable has gone inactive for one reason or another, including
CASINO HAMMERZ, over the past several months.
Now DM 33 faces the harsh reality that if RSI chooses to close any arenas due to
little or no interest, Niytyole Island could very well head the list of endangered
regular arenas!
In an effort to preserve his beloved island, Hammer is announcing the
continuation of the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups; combined with the Hammer 500 which
will conclude both contests on T-500 [duedate July 13, 2005] should DM 33 continue to
remain open in the coming months.
Attention Hammer Runners!
The Hammer Run is for 0 FE Basic Arena Warriors ONLY. Participants MUST Be
Declared in the P-ads On or Before their First DM 33 Basic Arena Fight to Qualify as
a Hammer Runner! Winners of Each Category will receive 5 New Team Roll Up Gift
Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! [On the condition that they
Graduate on or before T-500; see amended rules below!]
The following Style Master categories remain open with a listing of how many
declared contestants are still entered and their W/L recognition record at the time
of their disappearance from the Hammer Run competition:

500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups contest!

SHOULD RSI CHOOSE TO CLOSE DM 33 PRIOR TO T-500 ONLY THE HIGHEST ACTIVE DECLARED
STYLE MASTER CONTESTANTS WILL BE AWARDED TWO (2) GIFT CERTS AND ALL OTHER PRIZE
CATEGORIES WILL BE DECLARED NULL AND VOID BY HAMMER!!!!!!!!!
The purpose of this contest is to restore DM 33 to a lively and entertaining
arena!
Hammer is willing to foot the Prize bill in a last ditch effort to save Niytyole
Island from deletion if RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission decide that more arenas
need to be closed due to lack of participation and interest.
Should this effort fail to spare DM 33 from deletion, then Hammer is prepared to
transfer CASINO HAMMERZ to another arena if Niytyole Island is closed by RSI and the
Gladiatorial Commission.
