SPY REPORT
Someone who is unworthy of the attention she craves wrote ads this turn. I
apologize to those who must read those ads. If I were editor, I'd show bias! That is
probably why I am an unpaid spy reporter, huh...
Our departing, unloved Duelmaster showed his own 'unlove,' this turn,
bloodfeuding down 75. It was pretty incredible. The crowd wanted more, but that
pesky Arenamaster stepped in and stopped the fight before the crowd (including myself)
got what they want.
That left the throne wide open. And what did all our challenger champions do?!?
They sat out! You know that phrase, "Going for the Gusto?" Our challenger champions
depicted the opposite of that this turn! CAPTAIN JACK challenged up a whole bunch of
points. Not sure what he was thinking. I'm sure he claimed things went exactly as he
planned them. I say he looked horrible and made ODACHI not only get the throne, but
look like he deserved it.
That was one of the ONLY two challenges (besides the bloodfeud). Not
surprisingly, there were only 15 total fights (and two of those fights were Dark
Arenas) from 7 teams. The only team that stood out was the AVENGERS, winning 4 awards
on the turn.
I laughed a little when I saw the final tallys for the turn. Lungers and Aimed
Blows collectively went 1-5. Always a pleasure to see the 'power' styles have a bad
day. And as is often the case in our fine city, no Parry Lungers, Parry Striker, or
Parry Riposters fought.
What we lacked in fighters we made up for with avoids! A full thirteen warriors
issued two avoids each. The computer whose job I replaced claims that AFTER MIDNIGHT
avoided THE CANUCKS the most. Normally I check this claim (because that computer
isn't very good at adding - I know computers are supposed to do that well, but
translating what it means into text is something computers do not do well), but this
turn I just report it as is.
To close, I report on my favorite topic, killing! There were two kills this
turn! Not shockingly, these fights involved two of the worst warriors in the arena.
SERGEANT SCHULTZ (perhaps he deserves the nickname of klutz for continuing to come to
the sands every week and usually losing) came in with a 3-8-1 record. He challenged
STOLEN DANCE formlerly undefeated at 3-0-1. I know what you're thinking. It is what
I thought, too! The klutz won and STOLEN DANCE will after this sentence be forgotten
forever as one of those warriors who came in with flair but died on his first loss.
Next up was TAIHO KOKI, coming into the week at 2-8. Facing a .500 warrior, perhaps
he thought he had a chance to win. But it was quick and ugly and TAIHO KOKI will be
buried next to all the rest of the dead AVENGERS. Hmmm, I didn't notice it until I
was actually writing this sentence. MILITARY MAYHEM got both the kills! Good job!!!
Let's see a couple more next turn!!!
Until next time!
