SPY REPORT
Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! And this turn, the personals brought
such beauty as I cannot remember previously. It is too bad that more managers don't
participate in the personals, columns, and spotlights, but I understand that after
many years of managing, putting in a little extra work to write something original
might not be a high priority! No matter, I'll take what I can get from you all and
give you the best I'm able!
What happened you ask? I recommend you read for yourself, but the bottom line is
that after the working class made a statement last turn and cut that corporate necktie
in two, the Smithy couple (personally I think it was Lady Smith and that she is
pulling all the strings of Smithy; he has made it clear with every word, few that they
are, that he doesn't have the intelligence for it to be the other way around) took
offense. Anyways, they want revenge! And what does DESTITUTE NOBLE do?!? He
deactivates the team. Classic! I greatly look forward to their future exchanges,
because DESTITUTE NOBLE did activate NUMBERS GAME back up! And the fight of the turn
was without a doubt
1-800-VICTORY (31-6727) (5-0-0,57) of NUMBERS GAME fought UMBRELLA (31-6765)
(9-7-1,54) of USEFUL WEAPONS.
1-800-VICTORY was devastated by UMBRELLA in a 1 minute mismatched match.
Yes, the USEFUL WEAPONS did get some measure of revenge, breaking up that beautiful
5-0 start.
AFTER MIDNIGHT and MILITARY MAYHEM hogged up 7 of the 14 wins available this turn
(there were 3 Dark Arena fights that I don't count as an available win). That was
also good enough to earn them 4 of the awards for the turn. Meanwhile, PATRICK BATEMAN
took over the old man awards (though he himself is really not that old, but more than
once those three awards HAVE been taken by an old time warrior). He deserves the
credit, though, because he did beat ODACHI, the outgoing Lord Protector and former
Duelmaster.
The only kill of the turn was against AFTER MIDNIGHT. The dangers of rising 'too
fast' is that you can have your 6-1 warrior face some loser 12-20 killer dinosaur. I
understand the theory of wanting to beat these dinosaurs. I've heard the learning is
fantastic. But challenging a killer with almost 5 times your experience and 3 kills
IS a recipe for this kind of outcome:
SECOND BASE was dealt death by ADIOS AMIGO in a 1 minute one-sided Challenge fight.
I almost dread next turn. I can hope, but I must set my expectation low. To
expect entertainment such as this turn brought is a recipe for disappointment.
Perhaps it will come, perhaps not. But I will not set myself up to expect
interactions like this every turn!!!
