DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Look, people; I am the boss here. (Well, legally Smithy is, but since I am his
wife..... I am boss here.) And I am taking over this DM Column for Pool Cue. He is
barely educated, anyway, and I don't want him embarrassing my (and Smithy's) stable
any more. Besides, he is probably already on his way to The Isle, where somebody else
can pay him and take care of him. I'm tired of it; maybe the Useful Weapons will
receive a decent replacement recruit for once. (Sadly, that is probably untrue,
because that witch Belinda has some influence on The Commission, and she makes sure
our replacements are semi-filth. Hate that bimbo!)
I want to harp on that a little. If it weren't for MY terrific management, and
Smithy's powerfully built weapons, this collection of misfits, called Useful Weapons,
would be at the bottom. (Even lower than that pimpledink Assur's team or those After
Midnight baby-faced harlots.) Sad.
Why? Look at this:

25-15-2!! Great management, obviously.
So I want to thank, first, The Lord Protector Selection Committee for taking Pool
Cue off our hands, and, secondly, Book of Thomas for eliminating R.R. Spike from our
payroll. Realize that there are three others that we are willing to contribute.
With that, I would advise you all to listen to The Lady Smith and Smithy podcasts
so you can all improve your D2 results. (Throws everyone a semi-heartfelt kiss.)

SPY REPORT
8 teams fought this turn. There is a bright side to that, though. It is 8 and
the average number of warriors fighting per team was 4.5. I don't know what half a
warrior looks like, but I'm sure some of you experienced managers can give me his
exact stats and style. JUST DESSERTS easily had the top result of the turn, winning
all four fights outside the dark arena. That was good enough to earn 3 awards as
well.
Our all-time popularity leader is LUMUS NELP. That particular award is not
necessarily a good award to be winning, since it usually means you're a non-scum
dinosaur. His time is coming to an end. According to my scribes, he will get his
invite to ADM if he survives 3 more fights here. His history is not pretty. His
streaks going backward: L5, W2, L6, W1, L5, W1, L2, W1, L1, W1, L7, W1, L1, W1, L5,
W2, L1, W1, L1, W1. My scribes must have been lazy, because the data stops there. 3
of the wins were against stand-ins and 1 of the losses. True story: That last two win
streak was against COPS!, who this very turn challenged and died to SPECTRUM. If the
Avengers manager was going to join the personal ads, next turn would be a fine time to
do it.
I did find POOL CUE's challenge entertaining: POOL CUE bested MANDIN ORWELL in a
popular 1 minute veteran's Challenge contest. The outgoing Duelmaster challenged the
outgoing MANDIN ORWELL.
THIRD BEER was the top warrior left after half of the challenger champions sat
out. Congrats on a hollow title! (Though it is still the title and a free fight)
What became of the WITCHING HOUR?!? I know that is what I look to early. I saved
that for later in my report because it was a bit of a let down. AMBITIOUS GUARD?!?
With match ups like that, lots of warriors could go 11-0. Ok, WITCHING HOUR does have
9 fights against warriors, but this turn was not my favorite. I look forward to next
turn, I guess. The streak is alive!
No downchallenges turned into a 4-6-0-1 record. I'm still utterly convinced that
not downchallenging limits your choices as a manager and those Andorian pansies who
think it is dishonorable are mostly hypocrites. I've seen some of the most outspoken
of them make repeated nasty challenges and probably think they are honorable because
the warrior making challenges in question is lower ranked. If they truly think that
winning 3-4 times against the same warrior is honorable, they are using a different
definition of honor than the rest of the world. That doesn't mean, if you want to
fight by honor that any downchallenge is acceptable. Just that recognition is not a
good way to measure warriors (and an even worse way to measure honor).
And just so you all don't feel cheated by having a person write this report
instead of a computer, the information you're looking for:

SUMMER FACE-TO-FACE IN TAMPA, FLORIDA
We have planned our summer FTF for July 19-21, 2019, in Tampa, Florida. It will be
held at the Embassy Suites Tampa Airport Westshore. Room rates are $125 per night,
1-2 occupancy. There's free wireless throughout the property as well as a fitness
center, outdoor pool, and business center, as well as a resturant and bar inside the
hotel. They have the usual Embassy Suites amenities we know and love: complimetary
cooked-to-order breakfast and evening reception, plus there's a free airport shuttle
and parking is only $4/day. The rooms are blocked -- ask for the Reality Simulations
block (RSS). Reservations must be made by 6/20.
