                             Notes from the arena champ.

Four beers and seven years ago...
No, that's not right. *hic* What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen a
Duelmaster on the floor? No, I'm not drunk! This does wonders for my back. Really.
*hic* So why am I called THIRD BEER? Prolly 'cause I fight better once I've had a
few. Just ask LASSO, who's manager is apparently spending too much time barefoot in
the kitchen these days to manage a full team. *hic*
Last turn, I challenged POOL CUE who must've had better things to do than to get
a beat down from me on his immortal turn. What are you afraid of, POOL CUE? "You
cannot die, MaCleod." You are literally carved out of wood. Blockhead.
     Alright folks. *rattles some paper*
It's time for the obituaries, and even though THAT in itself was plural, we are
(and by "we" I mean "me") just going to talk about the only one that matters:

COPS! 8(1)-15-19-17-9-6-11 BA, Poor Endurance, Great Damage, Can sustain a
Tremendous amount, Master Attack, Ad Ex Init, Expert Decise.

Wow, what was my manager thinking?? Oh, alright, COPS! may have been brutally
executed at the hands of SPECTRUM, but in order to quell the public outcry amid these
lamented calls for justice, I, THIRD BEER, will personally be Bloodfeuding SPECTRUM.
If I win, I will do it again and again. And again and again. If I lose, well, I
guess LASSO will just have to remain inactive for many more turns seeking the warmth
and security of his manager's bosom.

                                      SPY REPORT

It's going to be a short one this week. Someone booked me for some conference or
pleasure cruise. Not sure which, the details are a bit hazy. I sure hope it is the
latter.
First is a surprise. BOOK OF THOMAS was the most avoided team, according to the
bad commission scribes, avoided by AFTER MIDNIGHT.
SPECTRUM was the most challenged warrior and took a bloodfeud from our
duelmaster. My second surprise of the turn is that THIRD BEER is not going to ADM
yet. I don't recall having a long running duelmaster for a while.
And as far as reigns go, WITCHING HOUR continues his undefeated streak. Finally
someone tried to do something about that streak! TABOR SKULLSHOT TV challenged
WITCHING HOUR, but it doesn't matter what you do in tourneys. WITCHING HOUR still won
today!
     Quick facts for the turn:
          BOLO successfully DC'd HANZO.
Aimed Blows were perfect in 3 fights.
Lungers were winless in 3 fights.
          All ten styles were represented.
35 warriors fought from 8 teams.
          20 fights (2 DA's, 1 BF, 1 TV, 5 other challenges)
Nothing really to notice in the team performances.

So with that, I'm off to my conference. I'm sure it will be riveting and
interesting. Though I suppose getting paid to sit and sleep isn't a bad thing!
Thanks for the ads and the DM column as always. I may be the only person to read
them, but I do read them!

                                          -- Belinda

Pool Cue -- I've never played pool, so I had NO IDEA what to do with you. -- Mandin
Orwell

Fourth Shot -- That's asking for trouble. Or does being a half elf give you a harder
head? Inquiring minds wonder idly. -- Lumus Nelp

Braedelon -- Thanks. I had the horrid feeling we were looking at an oh-fer turn, but
you saved us. -- Norison Rose

Third Beer -- That might have been my mistake. Or even the second one might have
been. -- Rondor Sendal

Frog-eye Salad -- Seems like I still haven't got the right dressing. Mustard and honey
didn't do it. Maybe I'll try... hmm, something in the pesto line? -- Panda Ross

Lady Smith -- There've been a lot of pitiful replacements around lately. We've had
some real skunks around Alastari. -- Jorja

After Midnight stumbles into the DM spot? How could that have happened? Oh, well; the
DM Column might prove amusing. -- Lady Smith, Useful Weapons

Hanzo, what would I do without you? -- Bolo, Useful Weapons (Feeling quite useful,
indeed.)

Manden Orwell, so, we go out together. I thought challenging and fighting you, since
we were both leaving, was a good way to leave the arena to the best upcoming warrior.
It seemed nice, you know? But look what we got as a DM? Sad. -- Lord Protector Pool
Cue, useful QWeapons

Y'all wepuns. I be proud o ye. Yup. Dad gum 3-0. Yup -- Smithy

Embezzling Scribe, great! I wanted you. Now, where's the money? -- Poker

Belinda is such a bimbo. I wonder if she is shacking up with Assur? -- Lady Smith (In
a rather snarky moment.)

Bliew, uh, are you calling Jorja a weirdo? That's not nice. Otherwise, then, who is
Weirdo? So, it is good that you have the CIC and are devouring the DM93 NLs. And we
see that you are starting here with the easiest to learn designs. And we noticed that
you seemed to know what you are doing in the past Thud/Rock fight. So, responding to
"help me" is rather difficult. E.g. help you what? Ask some specific questions and
provide some specific info, and you will get some good responses. (Especially if they
are directed to the mentors -- Assur or The Consortium Rep- in DM93. (You can send
persads there, you know?) Or ask them here in DM31; you are likely to get some good
answers. The Consortium Folk

Belinda -- Didn't you know? Week 11 was my bye week. -- Witching Hour

Motherlode and D. Noble -- That's debatable, but will your dinner salad be ready when
the hour is at hand? -- W. H.

Rondor Sendal -- You went down before I could even shift into third beer. -- Third
Beer

Winter -- You can dance around all you want, but can you take a hit? -- Cockfight

Lumus Nelp -- Am I lucky? Or are you just unlucky? -- Fourth Shot

Spectrum -- Cop killers aren't treated very well where you're going. -- Ghost of Cops!

Bliew -- We are all stuck in that "mediocre results" phase. Some of us just look
better doing it. Duelmasters is a lot like poker. You take the hand you are dealt and
try to convince everyone else that it is a lot better than it really is (though
occasionally you get a good hand). Lady Smith is very very good at doing this. While
Assur just seems to be his own worst enemy. ;) However, both of these managers are

far more knowledgeable than I, and if they were to impart some words of wisdom, you
would be wise to listen. -- Weirdo
P.S. Ask specific questions and you may get specific answers.

RUG -- What gives? Apparently, you don't. -- Weirdo

Norison -- Don't knock it 'til you try it. -- Frog Eye Salad
P.S. What, you have something against whip cream and fruit??

Lady Smith -- I actually prefer to think of all your warriors as the 21-17-x-17 type,
then I don't feel so bad losing to them all the time. -- D. Noble
