Notes from the arena champ.
An empty bottle is never wasted. True, Chimlevtal? Though, I prefer my bottles full
and in front of me. Truth is, you can tell a lot about a man from the bottle that he
drinks. Why, one time while on a drunken bender I got ta thinkin' 'cause, ya know, I
think too much. All philosophical and introspective like nobody's business and I
started reading these labels... on bottles no doubt! Now, I don't wanna give away
nobody's secret but one read like this:

Parry, can sustain a Tremendous amount, does Good damage, normal endurance.
Favs: War Fail, Low/Very Low, Learns Parry.
So the Lady Smith regards SPECTRUM as a real one. Well, then, I have never seen a
better example of when keepin' it real goes wrong. We also have the Consorted Folk
overcomplicating the simplicity of it all while they do some soul searching or fact
checking. I should really hire them folk as a proof reader like when I can't see if
this bottle says 180 proof!?!
And then we have Belinda who believes it's okay for spy reports to read like bad clip
shows from 100 turns ago. Ah, yes, the clip show, the tried and true cure for
writer's block. You know what? I'll take my chances with that computer generated
mess!
Anyway, I'm off the Isle of the Eye. Weirdo expects another craptastic replacement so
the After Midnight crew might take a little vacay and get some well deserved R and R.
So it might be a while before you hear more of our ridiculousness. Remember this,
Chimlevtal, may the blood on your sands never dry out!

SPY REPORT
Important news is obviously in the eye of the beholder, but usually the more
unique the news, the more interesting it is to the greater audience. Lady Smith
actually said something sort of nice to me. I did not know she had it in her.
Granted it is only half nice, but I'll give her credit. It is certainly rare!
At the same time, I am hurt by the accusations and taunts by that drunk, THIRD
BEER. Show a little respect for those who labor for hours upon hours to do their best
to improve the state of the arenas. Ok, so maybe my filing system could use some work
and after a stack of reports falls on the ground, I should probably check that I'm
submitting the right one, but to lower me to computer generated mess?!? Oh, the pain
and suffering. I'm not sure a third beer will be enough. All right, I'm not kidding
anyone with the victim routine. Plus I can always use this space to humiliate AFTER
MIDNIGHT (btw they were too afraid to show up this turn after insulting me).
I'm not sure if COLONEL KLINK was sandbagging, truly lacks confidence, or was
trying to make some bad backhanded insult to THIRD BEER, but there was clearly another
warrior he could beat. Challenging RONDOR SENDAL, he came out on top (literally) and
that was enough for the commission to award him the throne. Rest assured that the
only celebrations being had for his victory are over hard liquor (and the celebrations
have nothing to do with COLONEL KLINK). I suppose Crip might have celebrated the
successful bloodfeud, but I question even that.
28 warriors participated in 18 fights this cycle. 8 of them sent avoids. There
was a 4 way tie for most avoided team (no computer generated spy report will give you
that kind of reporting). AFTER MIDNIGHT, BASH BROS OCEAN, JUST DESSERTS, and BOOK OF
THOMAS all received 3 avoids each. MILITARY MAYHEM sent 7 of those 12 avoids. HANZO
was reported as the most challenged warrior, but it is anybody's guess how many
challenges that entailed.
The most fascinating team-wide news is NUMBERS GAME returning to action. They came
back with a solid 3-2 record which included two Dark Arena challenges. USEFUL WEAPONS
also went 3-0 in regular fights, but without the Dark Arenas.
As was mentioned earlier, WITCHING HOUR protected its undefeated record by not
fighting. STORM SEASON drew a lucky matchup and took out HEAT WAVE to rise to 6-0.
All warriors of note survived and no down challenges (though there were only 4
challenges total, 3 successful). On these two items (three if you count the total
number of challenges) I truly am sad. I'd prefer to see vicious kills from huge
mismatches in style and recognition. Isn't that the win at all costs way? By killing
your opponent, you also ensure that they will not come back and ruin your day later!
