SPY REPORT
We saw a grand total of 14 fights this turn. Not counting Dark Arenas, the number
drops to 12. Only USEFUL WEAPONS made any challenges (or at least got any challenges
through). Seven warriors from 3 teams made avoids. The most avoided team? AVENGERS.
3 avoids each from BASH BROS OCEAN and USEFUL WEAPONS.
The title fight saw a lot of gambling action. With the classic Lunger vs Total
Parry, many wanted to make an easy dollar or foresee the big upset against the odds.
LASSO, the total parry, was the favorite. The reigning lunger, of course, was BREXIT.
Would BREXIT be able to get past the defenses of LASSO? More importantly, would
BREXIT be able to last long enough to put LASSO down? The first question was answered
clearly "yes" almost from the moment the fight started. Good news for BREXIT. And it
was not a good day for the LASSO, for the fight didn't even last a full three minutes.
BREXIT remains on the throne to fight another day. That likely sets up a STORM SEASON
vs BREXIT match for the throne next turn. In 50 FE, I'd put my money on STORM SEASON
every time. But while taking the arena so far by storm, aimed blows are still not the
strongest style in basic and lungers have a lot more discretion in design to add
points to wit for those ever important skills. But now that I've built it up, the
fight probably won't even happen.
How often do 6 teams share the awards? I don't know (and to be honest don't care
about the actual answer), but it isn't every day. Today, however, it is a true
statement.
Apparently, I was almost completely off base about tourney results. Yes, we had
poor participation. Yes, we mostly had nothing to speak of other than an Eligible
warrior. However, I did not know about PI CHAMAELEONTIS. PI went 11-3 in Rookies.
Yes, I should have opened up the newsletter to read about these exploits, but I
didn't. I just assumed Chimlevtal had nothing to report as usual. Welcome PI!
Congratulations on the TV (wish you'd be able to finish your fine run, but I get it).
I am too tired to respond to the ads this turn (or maybe too lazy). So you'll have
to settle for this drier than normal report from me.

Our next winter FTF will be held in Tempe, Arizona, January 17-19, 2020. It will be
held at our usual Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Arizona (480-897-7444). Room rates

HALLOWEEN TOURNAMENT UPDATE
It has come to our attention that a warrior, Voodoo Toad 85-14776, was sent to
the Dark Arena and slain in order to be classed as a Dead Challenger in this past
Halloween Tournament. As this warrior is a Zombie, this was against the rules because
immortal warriors may not challenge the Dark Arena. (An exception is granted so a
warrior may challenge the Dark Arena on his very last turn after receiving an
invitation to Advanced Duelmasters, so he can show his prowess with the Dark Arena
monsters, but this may not be used as a method of classing in the dead tournament if
he happens to die in the night fight.)
To correct this injustice, we changed the fight result for all warriors who
lost to Voodoo Toad to a win for that turn. This gave two warriors, Crazy 54 84-11494
of Crazy 88 15 and Sarokith 84-30929 of Dub O Dubs, an ending record of 8-3, which
grants them Tournament Victor status and resurrection.
We realize this is not a perfect solution but hope it will make some amends
for the warriors who lost to this misclassed warrior.
