SPY REPORT
I spent several hours in the commission office this week, trying to get an
audience with the grumpy old man who sets the fight matchups. What a bureaucracy that
is!!! I finally got to see him and spent the 23 minutes I was granted (23 minutes...
really?) lobbying for the STORM SEASON - BREXIT match. I told him the arena needed it
and was desperately in need of more than just another turn of fights. I told him the
throne should be something of value and should pit the best warriors in the arena. I
told him there were no other eligible Challenger Champions that could fight for the
throne. I told him he could make a name for himself by making the fights more
exciting. He sat their eating his danish and sipping his coffee without a word,
staring blankly at me. At 22:30 into our visit, he thanked me for my interest in the
gladiatorial commission and invited me to make another appointment if I so desired.
I've gotten more respect from Lady Smith. I have no clue if my lobbying made a
difference, but we did get the fight I wanted.
BREXIT 2016, former TV, 13-4, with a 4 turn reign of the throne, having won 11 of
his last 13 fights, matched against STORM SEASON, the young AB whose only loss to date
was against 1-800-VICTORY, 11-1 in the arena. Lunger vs Aimed Blow. As expected the
oddsmakers favored BREXIT. I might give a slight managerial edge to Assur, but only
because he is more active currently. Both managers are veterans and know what they're
doing. As I mentioned last turn, I give the style advantage to BREXIT. Aimed Blows
don't become super dominant until later on in their careers. The experience edge also
clearly goes to BREXIT. 28 FE vs 16 FE. One assumes that the development edge would
also be BREXIT's, given that BREXIT has fought in every available tourney while STORM
SEASON skipped both Apprentices and Initiates.
The fight itself was quick, but that doesn't make the significance less. I wanted
this fight becuase it was clearly the best thing for the arena and the best possible
matchup for the title. BREXIT 2016 reigns for turn #5 and inches close to both
graduation and a potential Champions run (or perhaps Destitute Noble will send him
this time with 29FE). Meanwhile, STORM SEASON's day is not today. Loss #2 drops him
down to the champions class. Next turn will likely see one of the veteran AVENGERS
fighting for the throne. BREXIT has beaten both before, but offensives are known for
being inconsistent. It is all about their ability to put together a string of good
attacks, which varies from fight to fight. It will be interesting if SPECTRUM were to
win because that would leave the throne open, as SPECTRUM is heading to ADM.

2 x 4 extended its winning streak to 5 with a challenge to TANKEN. Well done and
a most beautiful down challenge! BASH BROS OCEAN was the most avoided team with
USEFUL WEAPON being the most avoiding team. AVENGERS managed a 4-1 record and 3
awards. Sure all four wins were against stand ins. But I'm also sure the AVENGERS
won't be giving any of those wins or awards back! Bashers with the top ten turn
record? Inconceivable! The Embezzling Scribe also struck again. JORJA should know
better than to name a warrior CREAMPUFF, though. That is like asking for an
Embezzling Scribe accident. TANKEN may have been the most challenged warrior. That
was what was reported, but when only 20 warriors fight, I question if anyone received
more than 1 challenge.
Finally we get to the personal ads. Lady Smith's makeup was completely ruined by
all the slobbering she did. Assur got some in, sort of. Plain text please!!! You
know the drill. And Jorja's crew (including a very funny one from the late
