DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Oops, we, as a team, forgot to submit personal ads last time, and as a result, have
been punished with taking the throne and having to write a Duelmaster's column.
Thankfully, Colonel Klink has decided to abandon Hogan's Heroes, and is off to the
Isle, so I can take this opportunity to tell you just what a horrible Kommandant and
teammate he really was.
Herr Klink started his career as an overgrown 11-11-18-17-5-11-11 Striker with Very
Little Endurance and doing great damage. He left us with Advanced experts in Decise
(-1) and Riposte (-2), Experts in Attack and Initiative (both mode). The commission
has revealed his favourite weapon is the almighty whiffle, with a Low/Low rhythm, and
using the Bash Tactic. He also had a favourite learn of riposte skills. How he ever
won a fight, let alone left here with a winning record is beyond me. All Heil 5
Will!

SPY REPORT
The story beings with a minor one point up challenge, likely looking for an easy
win and some skills. TANTRUM has been active in challenging of late, challenging in
each of the last three turns. However, after two unsuccessful challenges in a row, he
went back to the one that worked. This time, however, he eliminated any possibility
for a future challenge. RED PEPPER's career and life are over.
There was a second killing, but this one was much lower in the rankings and
happened in a matchup. And clearly the arenamaster was influenced by the crowd.
ANIMUS was put to death by CROW BAR in a 3 minute beginner's duel. Perhaps one day
CROW BAR will take the popularity leader award which HURRICANE took over today from
Lord Protector HANZO.
I would recommend you all put out the welcome mat for HOGWART'S STUDENTS. This
team is managed by Agent R and I am almost certain he will introduce himself very
soon. The transfer program from Hogwart's to Alastari is in its infancy, so far just
a successful trial run in DM 93. They now will finish out their studies here in
Chimlevtal. You all know what to do!
Some really pretty down challenges were issued this turn! All were successful in
getting cheap and easy wins! All also involved a single team, CARTOON NETWORK, with
one issued and two received. HARPOON: -11 recognition, -4 fights to MAMMOTH. ANAIS:
-18 recognition to NELLIE PURR, only getting 2 recognition in the process (5 more of
the same?!?). EMERGENCY ROOM: -20 recognition, -5 fights to CRAIG OF THE CREEK. Hmmm.
Apparently, CARTOON NETWORK has made some 'friends' with all the recent challenges.
That is one of the other dangers of challenging a lot. You make 'friends' who then
ask your warriors to special dances.
AFTER MIDNIGHT was once again the most avoided team, this time by a landslide. 11
warriors (including one twice) avoided AFTER MIDNIGHT, with ASSASSIN NATION sending 4
of the avoids. Don't worry, though, the scribes were not without work as 26 of the 43
warriors put in 47 total avoids. Challenges were flying, too. 11 of the 22 fights
were challenge matches.
CRAIG OF THE CREEK was reported as the most challenged warrior. Friends... The
only noteworthy team performance (well, not counting 0-fers by veterans such as Assur)
was by the AVENGERS. 4-1 and 55 recogntion gained. Look for them in 2 more turns as
the Current Top Team. Funny how that works. You have a stellar turn and you
suddently compete for the Current Top Team award.
As is too often the case, I am pressed for time and do not have time (right now)
to read all the fine (and not so fine) personal ads and dm column. Thanks for writing
them. They are sitting in files on my hard disk and I'll read them when you all do in
the newsletter. It'll be a nice diversion from an otherwise boring day later this
week.
