DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Lords and Ladies of Arvat. I, Silver Train, Your Duelmaster, bids you all
greetings. I have retained my title of Duelmaster by defeating Obsidian Golem in an
epic battle that was one for the ages. I consider it an honor to have fought one
that my manager holds in such high regard as you. I am so greatly honored that I
actually was victorious. That fight could easily have gone either way. Luck was
obviously on my side. Since Obsidian Golem was the only Challenger Champion that was
active last turn I TV Challenged him. What is strange is that my TV didn't go
through but my regular challenge did. I wonder if the Icelord has some crazy avoid
power. Regardless it was a heck of a duel.
This turn's TV goes out to Tassalter. He soundly beat my brother Stratostar and
I have beaten him in the past. He is a worthy opponent and I will have to give it my
all if I am to return to the top spot. I also hope that he can aid me in my training
for the upcoming Adepts tournament at the Face to Face. I hope to improve upon my
Runner-Up status that I achieved in this past Apprentices tourney. The Boss said
that he thinks that I am as good as any that he has sent to Adepts tourneys in the
past. I hope to make him and my home arena of Arvat proud. I will be making the
trip with my Proxy manager Soultaker.
That is all the time I have for now. I must be off to train for my upcoming
duel and tournament. I'll have to be at the top of my form. Until next turn.
Your Duelmaster,
Silver Train
SPY REPORT
So why do I have this bag over my head? Because I am The Unknown Spymaster and
I'm going to give you a spy report!. Coming up with a solid 4-1-0 outing, ANGELS OF
PAIN has advanced 3 places in the rankings. Hey everybody, watch out for IZUSU
TROOPER, who flew up 18 points in the rankings after mashing LOGGERHEAD like a melon.
Keep your eye on this beast. Ya know, some days it doesn't pay to walk out on the
sands. GERI was subdued by STRATOSTAR and drops 10 points. Unlike most arenas,
SILVER TRAIN managed to get his challenge off against the 11-32-0 TASSALTER. Going
for the gusto and coming up with aught but bloody knuckles was FISHERMAN'S WHARF's
TASSALTER, who was turned away from the Duelmastership by SILVER TRAIN. Advice to
bashers--never force anything, just get a bigger halberd!
Here is other news that is of note. Did you hear that THE STORMLORDS was most
avoided team this week? Well, knowing the personal hygiene of THE STORMLORDS'
warriors, I'm not surprised! Okay, so I may not be funny, but catch HARBINGERS' act
in the arena. Those acrobats seem to be fairly deft at running from THE STORMLORDS.
Well dang howdy, but if challenges were votes, LOGGERHEAD would be president.
Although it may be a contest he doesn't want to win.
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). Here's some advice: warriors with little
wit and will may encounter problems on the trail to the Isle.
I think I had better cut this one short. It's been nice chatting to those of
you whom I have not offended yet. Well, there goes another Spy Report. Good luck in
next week's fights. See ya next time I'm on this circuit!-- The Unknown Spymaster

PERSONAL ADS
Duelmaster Silver Train -- Congrats on your victory! Obsidian Golem wants a rematch,
though. -- The Stormlords
Personal Legend -- I thought I'd try again. I'm impressed you can carry all that
weight. -- Ulthar Ulsay
Destitute N. -- You wouldn't call The Dark One "a coward, backstabber..blah blah
blah..." because you don't have the guts. I stand by everything I say. -- The
Icelord
The Dark One -- I could be mistaken but it sounds like Destitute N. tried to get in a
backhanded insult. -- The Icelord
Destitute N. -- I hope that insight includes your understanding that what you did was
lame. How would you have responded had the exact same thing happened to you? As
First Mage of The Council of Lords, I should have jumped on you right when it
happened. You can still apologize. -- The Icelord
United -- Nice try. -- Sensoo O Suru
Sinner -- Nice try. -- Freki
Icelord -- I know not why your personals were deleted, I welcome your comments and
thoughts. I had a whole page of personals deleted also, focusing on your comments to
me from the turn before. No matter, we'll both come up with plenty more to say. --
D. Noble
P.S. Only I wrote the "Freki Must Die" spotlight -- Talon did not have a hand in it,
though he knew I was writing it.
Trainer/Mad Max -- Congrats on fooling every one for so long in using your pseudonym.
I'll call you Mad Max from now on here. I don't have any other unbeatens here
currently...but I see that you do. If I weren't so busy trying in vain to get one
stinking challenge through against Icelord I'd be happy to return the favor for you.
As it is, and I've said before, my main focus now is catching and passing Icelord...
I've dug myself a bit of a hole. -- D. Noble
Icelord -- Thirteen turns left, and only one more to bloodfued me. Count on me using
all these skills to wade through some of your lower ranks. -- United
Icelord -- Yes, you do run in primus...I think my current warriors there are 5-1
against you in there. Too bad you don't run in regular AD -- I'd be more than
willing to extend out contest to there also in addition to our skirmishing in 31.
Put all your runnable warriors into 100 or 103 after the next split and let's duke it
out in there also. -- D. Noble
High Lord Bosk -- I salute you, my brother. -- The Icelord
Tassalter -- Congrats on a good win. I was mainly going skill hunting against you.
I thought I'd give you a better fight then I did though. Good job. I'll give you
another shot in a little while. Congrats again. -- Stratostar
Ulthar Ulsay -- Haven't we done this like 3 times before? At least this time I took
you out on damage. I think it's time you tried someone else. -- Personal Legend
Damnation -- Geez! Take it easy with that thing. I've got kids to feed. -- Topiary
The Icelord -- Killing Machine never would have matched Savory's record. One of your
2 boys up there would have thrashed him before he even came close. As it is I would
be willing to wager that both of my veterans would eat his lunch if he ever gave them
a shot. It's just typical bravado. -- the Trainer
The Stormlords -- Thank you for your congratulations. -- Silver Train
"Arvat Challenge 2005" Update:
The Stormlords: 7-4-0
Call The Priest: 4-7-1
Jorja -- I completely understand. We at Saratoga Glory have had to deal with moving
multiple times over the past few years. After this November however we will not have
to go through this kind of an ordeal for at least another 30+ years. We wish you
luck in your endevours. We just want to let you know you would be missed if you were
ever to leave. -- the Trainer
the Dark One -- You weren't kidding when you said that S.Moe Dius was bad.... Killed
by Mordant Deserter?!?!?! That is just embarrasing.... I take my hat off to you for
running someone that bad. -- the Trainer
Destitute Noble -- Very true. I wouldn't have called Stratostar's victory over
Before the Dawn an upset either. The style advantage is definitely in Strat's favor.
Sometimes those spy reporters just need to stir up some controversy. -- the Trainer
Hey, it's what we get paid for! -- Olaf Modeen
Angels of Pain -- Welcome to Arvat! We hope you have a long and prosperous stay.
Except against us of course. -- the Trainer, mgr. Saratoga Glory, President and
official member of Arvat's welcome wagon.
P.S. Here is a cookie. Again, welcome!
Stratostar -- It says here that "strato" is a level or layer sort of thing. This
means you should fall down, yes? -- Tassalter
Killing Machine -- Glad you didn't live up to your name. -- Boatman Ku
Electric Eye -- Ah... you are employed to watch electric sheep, yes? I forget where
the electric sheep were, Kaltos, I think. They use the wool to make electric
blankets, you know. -- Little Rainbow
Charon -- How could you ever row a boat across a broad river if you tire so rapidly?
-- Loggerhead
Silver Train -- This I can survive. -- Boatman Ku
Silver Train -- I'm still alive. THAT makes things a little less painful. --
Tassalter

ATTENTION ALL YOU ALLIANCE-TYPE PEOPLE:
For the purposes of tourney newsletter alliance listings (when I am able to do them),
you may only be listed in ONE alliance. In other words, you have to choose! If you
are a part of Englebert's Alliance and Englebert's Alliance is "part" of Ruthrauf's
Alliance, I will list you EITHER as part of Englebert's Alliance OR as part of
Ruthrauf's Alliance, NOT both. The default would be the top-level alliance,
Ruthrauf's, in this example. If you'd rather be listed separately, let me know and I
will do so, but that will be the only listing you get. -- The Saint, keeper of ever-
more-complicated lists

The Company of Brothers (TCB) welcomes two new members to our alliance...Liam the
Goth and Buddy Lee. We have no doubt that they will prove to be assets to our
alliance and the general dueling community. -- Baphomet, co-founder, T.C.B.
