Notes from the arena champ.
Hail Arvat!
After a brutal battle with our former duelmaster, Roland, I, Ted Ickens, have taken
the title. I have to admit that I am somewhat surprised that I was able to hold out
long enough to achieve victory, but my effort was just enough. I will not avoid
Roland this turn, should he seek a rematch. My goal was to claim the title and since
I was able to do so, I have no need to keep it. I just prefer a good fight. I will
give one of my challenges to Peter P., as he recently defeated me. I am certain I
can do better.
The Devil Advocates are proud to announce that I am the 29th warrior of our
Guildhouse to hold the title in Arvat! It is the goal of our stable that every one
of us should hold the title at least once during our careers. Unfortunately, there
have been 3 or 4 of us how have not managed this feat, the last being our friend I.
M. Ceytin just recently. I dedicate this victory to all of them!
This past weekend the tournament took place. With luck the warriors form our arena
were very successful and we managed to bring home some awards. I suppose we will see
by next turn. May you all have a safe journey home.

SPY REPORT
Welcome ARVAT. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights have I
fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... Up 'n down. Up 'n down.
Rankings always change. Up 'n down. I think I'm gonna be... Well, ANGELS OF PAIN's
5th moved them up to 4-1-0 place. It seems so recently people were saying LUROCIAN
GUARD was washed up, finished. But 4-0-0 moved them up 3. I guess they're washed no
more... What's with DREAD? It actually beat TEAM SYMBI's UNSER STALLWART, and
walked away with 21 more points from the fight. Laughs were big at ANGELS OF PAIN
while they watched DREAD clobber UNSER STALLWART. He lost 9 points and got bruised
from objects thrown from the stands. Try as he might, ROLAND wasn't good enough at
persuading TED ICKENS to step down from the Duelmaster's throne... I suppose you
want to hear some rumors and dirty gossip about your fellow fighters? Tough!
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports. ARVAT
thinks BIG LAKE NOMADS and their 79-77-6 is too much! If at first you don't succeed,
give up... The bums at TEAM SYMBI couldn't face the challenges from BIG LAKE NOMADS!
No excuse for that! What do people see in PETER PIQUIN? His 20-11-0? FISHERMAN'S
WHARF ain't talkin', but he's got 81 points. Maybe ANGELS OF PAIN's DEFIANCE is one
of those guys who likes pain, or something. That's what he'll get next week, after
challenging up 40 to PETER PIQUIN. DEFIANCE subdued PETER PIQUIN (DEFIANCE getting
27 points, too!)--Ooh baby! Now dat I likes! Taunt your opponent HERON! That was
my lucky charm when I was unfairly challenged. (and by 23 points!) BELLE ZEYBUL
should have an easy win. BELLE ZEYBUL defeated HERON. DEVIL ADVOCATES calls this
fighting? In my day... Fighting is a better craft than farming, FILLIS BOUY, but
you have to pay your dues. Being challenged by ANGUISH, 17 points above you, is
dues. ANGUISH defeated FILLIS BOUY. I bet ANGUISH could beat two-year-olds, too.
Well, FISHERMAN'S WHARF knows who to set their sights on.
A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters
don't accept this. The best do. GRU THE HATED larned his lesson (CUTLER BATES
taught it well), and we right likely won't be seein' 'im fight any FISHERMAN'S WHARF
members with the same gusto. How long have I been here? I got people to see, places
to go...
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.

Certificate. Only certificates will be accepted for entry. All certificates
submitted will be used during the course of the contest as prizes.
*RU certificates must be received on or before the first turn of the contest which is
Stormcrowe Turn 263 (running approximately December 4, 2007).
RULES and SCORING
Rules and Scoring information for the Slaughterhouse will be posted every turn in the
Stormcrowe newsletter beginning with Turn 260 and in a final all arena ad in
November.
PRIZES
ENDURANCE AWARD: One (1) +1 Bonus Potion will be given to every team that competes
in 60 of the 65 contest fights.
KILL MASTER AWARD: The individual manager with the most kills will receive a Limited
Immortality Potion. This potion may be applied to one (1) warrior. He/she will be
resurrected ONE-TIME if they are killed in Basic D2.
TOP TEAM AWARD: Each manager on the winning team will receive the following prize
pack for their Slaughterhouse Dominance:
*One (1) +1 Bonus Potion
*Favorites Knowledge for one (1) Warrior
*Undisclosed amount of Team RU Certificates
Special note from RSI on prizes: All contest prizes must be used within three
months. All contest prizes may only be used on a living warrior on the participating
contest team in DM 45. The immortality potion may resurrect a warrior one time,
after a death in DM 45 only, after which time the potion disappears.
