DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Hail Arvat!
I am Ted D. Seaver, your new, improved Duelmaster. I took the title with an inspired
fight against my alliance mate Gelen. I think Gelen mailed it in a bit, seeing as he
was already packed and headed straight to the Isle from the arena after our bout!
Still, I learned quite a bit from the old warhorse and salute him for his long
career! Though the lack of a Duelmaster's Column is completerly unacceptable. Then
again, he's a basher. Many of them can't read or write...
The challenger champs are very crowded this week and who knows who I will be fighting
this week? There are numerous possibilities here. I am going to let my manager
choose my challenges and avoids as I want to maximize my chances of staying on top!
After all, you need at least 3 turns as Duelmaster before the good advertising deals
start coming in. I could make a fortune in endorsements if I play my cards right!
On a more serious note, it has come to my attention that a false Rumor ot the Week
was posted this turn! I was instructed to warn the writer of these fake rumors that
we have ways of finding out who is responsible!!
As for the true Rumor of the Week, fortunately there were seven deaths in the arena,
not five, and it looks like the Gate will stay closed for a while more, yet.

SPY REPORT
The sages err'd not in their foretelling of a god descending upon ARVAT, for I,
Novgorodny Vir, have returned! RILL'S GCSC2 after a sorry 1-2-0 might want to
consider abandoning the sands and taking up singing the 'Can't fight no more' blues!
What's a move up by 5 you ask? (alright, maybe you didn't ask) Cause for
celebration, according to SARATOGA GLORY. THE REPUBLIC posted a nice gain, to come
in 5th. Everybody loves a winner... Practice pays for MYSTIC MIRAGE, who pummelled
APPIUS, to pocket 25 points. APPIUS certainly had a baffled expression on his face,
after losing to MYSTIC MIRAGE and losing 20 points in the process! VARIUS found out
that ARVAT isn't a democracy. You've gotta be the best to be Duelmaster here! So
who's the team that's been walking into taverns last week and ordering milk? Sounds
like a PR stunt to me.
My mother wished me to avoid conflict, and seek the gentle trade of Spyreporter.
But warriors aren't supposed to avoid fights! Like the noble eagle soaring amongst
the mountaintops, so stand the warriors of ECLIPSE, alone and unchallenged. Like a
pup with its tail between its legs, THE REPUBLIC scurried away from ECLIPSE. Oh, the
shame! If challenges were horses, STRIDER could open up a fast food joint! As a
confidence booster, FRENZY challenged BOLT THROWER, down 27 points. Do you also slay
vicious rodents in your spare time, FRENZY? Warriors of ARVAT! Do you wish your
reputations tainted by the base challenge of FRENZY? Mismatched by 13 points,
MESHARR was bested by BLACKMOON. Is this really worth noting? I thought BLACKMOON
showed great skill and promise when he won victory over MESHARR. All right, so I
slept through it! Big deal!
Ah, the duel! The roar of the oppenent, the smell of the crowd! Never one to
advocate diplomacy and restraint, I was pleased to see THE REPUBLIC retaliate against
CRUCIBLE in bloodfeud! Charity is unknown in ARVAT, and rightly so. DEVIL ADVOCATES
exacted their revenge against ECLIPSE. Questions are being raised about the
disposing of severed body parts in the arena. A certain tavern in ARVAT would I
avoid!
Leave me now, you base fools! More important duties call me. ARVAT, I leave

learn poorly, learn bad things and generally fight poorly, despite the nice numbers.
