Notes from the arena champ.
Yes! I won my fight, retained the title and then received my papers and
invitation to join the ranks of the Lord Protectors. That invite comes with either
land or cash, so I took the gold.
Ten minutes later the money changed hand again and I was given the title to the
property on which the Cry Murder! Bar and Grille will be built.
We decided to go all new, as many of the sites we looked at were overrun with
wharf rats. It's hard enough keeping a quality eatery clean without having to
overcome existing issues. As we had already completed the demolition work,
construction is already underway. They have the foundation in and are working on the
framework now.
Even with full ownership of the building and property, I did have to take on
some backers to assist in buying the furniture, kitchen items, inventory and the
like. Most of them will be off site, leaving me in full control of day to day
operations of the bar.
I'm hoping that some of the guildhouses will contribute memoribilia from their
arena glories to our Wall of Honor, which should be a fun way to honor great arena
champions.
I'm off now to oversee some of the construction and sign off on some zoning
paperwork, but Cry Murder! should be open by the end of next month.

SPY REPORT
If you were disturbed from your beauty rest only to have to watch a bunch of
ARVAT brutes like you, you'd be grouchy, too. Now keep the taverns open late
tonight, for there are sorrows to drown for GOING APES, whose 0-0-0 this turn dropped
them by 8 into 11th. Ha! ASSORTED turned their 2-1-0 turn into a 7th place rank in
the listings this turn. Any better than this, and you get put on hit lists. Now
let's all watch LUROCIAN GUARD's heads swell from their 3-1-1 this turn. Haa ha ha
ha! Big shots, big talk, big deal. Tsk, tsk, THOMASO beat HANNANNA and HANNANNA
lost 9 points. You're breakin' my heart. And if variety is the spice of life, ARVAT
may be getting bland, as MURDER stays top dog in the city. Kickbacks and bribes,
kickbacks and bribes, how else do you think some of these guys win their fights?
Skill? Ha!
He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day, the coward. What's
the big D? LUROCIAN GUARD was the most avoided team? Bunch of lily livered...
grumble... mumble... curse... And it looks like SECRET SQUIRRELS avoided them the
most this turn. What a pack of would be losers, if you ask me. Hmph. Ooh, I'm
frightfully impressed, HEAVEN was this turn's most challenged warrior. Watch that
ego swell, sports fans. I guess I can give a little credit to MISS TEARY of SECRET
SQUIRRELS for challenging up by 21 to HEAVEN. MISS TEARY won to get 23 points of
recognition.
Some people like volunteer work in the hospitals. I volunteer for ARVAT's
morgue. More variety. We're all going to die in the end, so why worry if the fate
catches up with you sooner that later?
There's got to be a better place in ARVAT to get a drink than The Swinging
Aardvark! Any suggestions? Well, I've had enough of this drivel, and I'm sure you
