Notes from the arena champ.
Every day Assur tells me something different. One day I'm preparing for a
tourney. The next I'm trying to earn land and a title. The next I'm going to sit
out and try to be immortal in a tourney. He can't seem to make up his mind with
regards to what he wants from me. I've decided to start ignoring him and concentrate
on training. That way when/if he does make up his mind, I'll be ready for whatever.
My challenges this turn go to Take Your Lumps. He is the top contender and
Assur believes I can beat him. Plus, he wants to see just how good I am. Beating
the best the in arena is the best way to determine that. And no offense to Psirena,
but her record does not suggest the best in the arena.
It is fun to be back, dueling again, and even more fun to have success and sit
in this fine throne!

SPY REPORT
Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly ARVAT games. Fortune did not smile upon CALL THE
PRIEST this time out who this turn suffered a fall into 16th position in the wake of
a 0-0-0 round. Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner!
Witness how this week THE WALKING DEAD went 3-2-0 to move up 5 in the rankings.
FATTY BOLGER caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully
bested FAMINE and was awarded 21 points in recognition. In one of the week's more
notable duels, FATTY BOLGER put down FAMINE, causing her to lose 18 points of
recognition in the process. Not for nothing has EMPTY BOTTLE in the past laid claim
to the Duelmaster's throne, and this week he's proven his combat skill yet again.
Would you believe that over half of the old women in ARVAT seem to feel that they
could fight better than you gladiators?
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city ARVAT. My inside sources tell me that the team to beat in ARVAT these
days is NOTORIOUS. At least, most blades in town are looking to avoid them.
Methinks more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the better part
of last week avoiding NOTORIOUS. Indeed it was PAINFUL THOUGHT. Mighty fighters
cannot but expect competition from those below. UNDERCOVER LILY take warning! You
have more than a few enemies in ARVAT. For some warriors honor is not
important--only empty victory. See, gladiators, how TIA MATTE of DEVIL ADVOCATES
challenged down 17 points to CATFISH ANNIE. Few would not have guessed the outcome
of the bout as CATFISH ANNIE was overcame by TIA MATTE. Is this what passes for
courage in ARVAT?
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers
the miserable with fortune but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember this!
If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times
already in ARVAT. Nice atmosphere you have here! Sadly warriors, now longer can I
