To: Sheila, Lady of the Grey Wand
From: Darkwolf, Arch-Wizard of Stormcrowe, High Advisor to King Brynnjolf
Hello dear lady,
I trust you are in good health and you find the struggle for peace less
demanding.
This is my yearly report of happenings of your ancestral homeland of Stormcrowe
and Glacks Keep. Your cousin, my King, sends his best wishes.
T'was a rather quiet year this year. The weather was mild this year, which
spurred more shipping than usual. There were actually LESS rainy days than sunny
days, something that has not happened in my 27 years. Perhaps this will be a
continued trend.
Talks continued with the Karnhorn Empire for a more open relationship between our
two countries. We are hoping to buy the Durukar Canal in the near future. I hope we
can strike a deal by the end of the summer, but I'm told I am too optimistic.
I am still trying to get the Satrap and King Brynnjolf to meet. I think if the
two could talk face to face without middlemen, that much animosity between the two
could be cleared. I cannot believe that the Satrap is as closed minded as I've heard.
I spoke with the High Shaman of Blacks Keep early last spring. Quite a
remarkable man. He predicted the unusual weather that occured. I shall have to
consult him before the trading season begins again. You should be pleased to hear
that all is well on the Island. You should try to take time out of your busy schedule
to visit your ancestral home. They would love to have you, as would Stormcrowe.
There was a disturbance in Kurukar last Jadeflower that supposedly involved some
Stormcrowe citizens. My sources have not confimed this, nor have they denied this.
The Kalif will not allow us to assist in the investigation. If the reports of his
idiocy are ture, there mmay be trouble between us. The last thing any of us need is a
war between Stormcrowe and Kurukar. If that happens, may Elyssindal have mercy.
Disturbing news. In the wild swamps on the northern edge of Stormcrowe Bay, we
discovered what I believe to be the remains of a Chaos Gate. I have been studying it
to determine if it could be reopened. So far my findings are inconclusive. I have a
round the clock guard on the site until I can determine what we are dealing with. If
you feel it necessary to investigate yourself, I can give you the coordinate.
On a more positive note. Do you remember the man who designed our beautiful
arena? A man name Hooper? He has invented a flameless lantern powered by the energy
found in lightning. No magic involved whatsoever. It is not a bright light, but I
believe that with a little work, he could make it powerful enough to be seen in
Aljafir. I tell you the man is a genius.
I shall end this now, since you have much to do. We in Stormcrowe are ever
indebted to you. Should you ever need us, just call.
Yours in magic,
Darkwolf of Stormcrowe
SPY REPORT
Greetings, Warriors of NIYTYOLE ISLAND. Allow this humble servant Novgorodny
Vir to give you a respite from the fights in the form of this Spyreport. The boys at
GIRL SCOUT COOKIES left the arena dejected, after being kicked out of the top spot by
SNOTZI'S II. Good show! Practice pays for OSPRY, who pummelled FIRE AT WILL, to
pocket 18 points. FIRE AT WILL certainly had a baffled expression on his face, after
losing to OSPRY and losing 15 points in the process! SCOT TEA successfully staved
off a grab for the roses by MACABRE of OBSIDIAN HALL. Does NIYTYOLE ISLAND have no
one talented enough to dethrone it? Word has it one team in NIYTYOLE ISLAND is using
psychics to predict wins. They lead a charmed life!
So much to report, so little time! Like the noble eagle soaring amongst the
mountaintops, so stand the warriors of I'M DAN, MAN, alone and unchallenged. Like a
pup with its tail between its legs, SNOTZI'S II scurried away from I'M DAN, MAN. Oh,
the shame! If challenges were horses, JUBILEE could open up a fast food joint!
Is there life after death? Pragmatics (and warriors) know there is death after
life! Ask not for whom the sword slashes; it slashes for thee.
Do not think spyreporting in NIYTYOLE ISLAND is the highlight of my life. Keep
those sands bloody and the buzzards fat! Like a mixed metaphor, and an overtaxed
simile, I now bid NIYTYOLE ISLAND farewell-- Novgorodny Vir

Gods, no dead at ALL? You didn't have to cease killing each other, you know. In
fact, I would recommend it--clear the ground a little. -- Arenamaster Kaghal
Kaghal -- I just would like to point out that Gerelin is not an elf at all. He's
an orc. How could you make such a fundamental mistake? -- Terreg, a fan and
holder of a season ticket for the Niatoli arena
Terreg -- Well, why do you think he's a renegade? His father was an orc, and his
mother was a Monuntialese elf. He had to leave home when his tusks came in, but
he was RAISED as an elf, he THINKS of himself as an elf. -- Kaghal
P.S. Don't mention it to him; it's a sore subject.

All -- I have decided to make some changes for the new year. The first one being a new
manager name. From now on I, formerly unknown as Sweetness, will answer to Hipster
Dufus. That was easy enough, I don't know what the big deal about New Year's
resolutions is. "Get busy living or get busy dying." The Shawshank Redemption -
Hipster Dufus
All -- Hail Mongo!!! I, Blackthorn of Sibhikas, have graduated thanks to his wisdom.
My manager would have sent me away had not Mongo intervened, and suggested a way to
make me a most formidable opponent in Basic: WS, 17(2)-17(1)-13-9(2)-17(2)-5-15(2),
Ex +1 attack, Adex +4 parry, GS favorite. My record stands now at 27-8-1, with my
last fight a loss in the DA, ending my career. -- Blackthorn of Drunk Before Noon

All -- If you are attending the Face to Face, send a note to Customer Service so we
can have a record of attendees, and hold those last couple of turns. Your turns will
arrive at the Face to Face on Friday, you can pick them up there and get any reprints
you need.
1/14/98
ATTENTION GOLFERS!! If you are interested in playing golf on the Friday before the
FTF, contact The Neon Necromancer as soon as humanly possible. I have reserved some
tee times, and I want to fill them. This is not exclusively for serious golfers, but
for golfers who are serious about playing at the Face. In other words, you don't have
to be a great player, but I want a firm commitment that you will show up and play that
day. Maybe doesn't cut it. The cost will be about $110. So, if you are willing to
try to wrest away my title of Golf God of Alastari, contact me ASAP. Arrangements
will be finalized on Monday, January 26th. E-mail: NeonOne@aol.com, phone: (310)
