Many the fights have I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... HOMES showed NIYTYOLE ISLAND what they were made of as they fought with a vengeance to walk off with 4-1-0. NIYTYOLE ISLAND's got someone new to push around. C'mon everyone, challenge GUYS YOU CAN TRUST. Let's see how long they last. What's with CHUBBY? He actually beat NIYTYOLE ISLAND's KHALHUMS DWARF, and walked away with 18 more points from the fight. Laughs were big at HOMES while they watched DABNEY clobber JUBILEE. It lost 10 points and got bruised from objects thrown from the stands. I'm sure NIYTYOLE ISLAND is excited about ORANGE PARK, the new Duelmaster from HOMES. (remember?) But when you've seen as many as I have... Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects to practice on? I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners. Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... NIYTYOLE ISLAND thinks THE WARBIRDS and their 35-63-3 is too much! If at first you don't succeed, give up... In my day, no team with a 34-59-3 would scare me off! What's the problem, SNOTZI'S II? A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters don't accept this. The best do. Is it my imagination, or are fighters getting younger every day? To die so young, so gloriously! Well, I'm pretty much through. You guys need to get back practicing. The end of another Spyreport! That's cause for celebration in my book! I don't want to overstay my welcome...-- Olaf Modeen DUELMASTER W L K POINTS TEAM NAME ORANGE PARK 4322 18 19 0 94 HOMES (342) CHALLENGER CHAMPIONS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME CHUBBY 4302 8 1 1 94 SNOTZI'S II (361) CHAMPIONS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME -MACABRE 3213 14 6 1 80 OBSIDIAN HALL (192) SAMOA 4339 21 16 0 79 GIRL SCOUT COOKIES (343) CHALLENGER ADEPTS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME ZONKER 4337 8 0 0 63 SNOTZI'S II (361) CHALLENGER ADEPTS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME -VEGETIUS 3340 11 3 1 62 OBSIDIAN HALL (192) BLACKER 4445 10 4 1 57 HOMES (342) FIRE AT WILL 4305 8 1 1 57 SNOTZI'S II (361) ADEPTS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME -RYANATOR 3462 10 2 0 48 OBSIDIAN HALL (192) CONDOR 4415 9 11 2 46 THE WARBIRDS (377) TEMPE 4447 6 6 0 41 HOMES (342) OSPRY 4413 8 12 0 40 THE WARBIRDS (377) EAGLE 4414 7 13 0 34 THE WARBIRDS (377) W.T. We apologize for the error. The hotel only takes reservations on weekdays, so be sure to call Mon.-Fri. 2/23/98 I have been putting together a pamphlet about Duelmasters. It is called "The mousetrap" and is aimed primarily at less experienced managers, but I feel it has much to offer everyone. It includes articles by such famous managers as Scrag, Doc LeGrand, Neon Necromancer, Guardian, Shadow, and many others, and a wonderful introduction by our beloved NAIMT. Heck, I even wrote a few articles. It will print some time in March. To order send your name and street address with a check for $10.00 made out to Tom Davis to: Tom Davis, 154 Agricultural Ave. Rehoboth MA 02769, or via diplo to Flatlanders in DM 37 or 104. You can contact me by e-mail at TDavis1753@aol.com. I am sorry I have to charge anything, but this is over 60 pages of discussion by some of the best managers in the game for less than the price of a turn. If I make back my investment, I will produce a follow-up next year. -- mouse, Warden of the Dark Circle 2/25/95 Any Manager who created a team at the January FTF: You need to contact RSI and let us know where you want to transfer that team. The arena (DM 81) they were originally placed in is not an active arena, nor will it be; it is used solely to allow managers to get overviews faster. If you wish to have a choice in where your team is placed please contact us soon. 3/5/98 "The Duelist" This is a (Non-RSI) Duelmasters handbook which represents years of data accumulation, analysis, and experimentation by many managers. It also represents thousands of dollars of investment into worthless warriors, teams, phone calls, and postage. I've tried to compile everything I could about Duelmasters and put it in the handbook with accurate explanations about the various charts. This is the most complete source of information out on the game, as of yet. Everything is 'top of the line' information on topics such as: hit-points, coordination, handedness, intelligence, wit -statements, endurance, damage ability, encumbrance, quickness, activity, skill charts, weapons & armor, along with various other things. This book will allow you to "see" a warrior before you send his roll-up sheet off to RSI. For the newer managers, after sifting through the 60 (sixty) pages, you will be able to see the errors that many of us managers have made, create warriors based on skills, and have the in-depth look inside the game of warrior design. For the older managers, it is a time of reflection about the game, to see the book challenge your concepts with writings from other experienced managers, and find out the degree of knowledge that is currently known. Yet in all cases, this handbook should be able to fill the gaps between the information that RSI has published, and the information you may have already gathered. I have most recently been to the Face-to-Face in Scottsdale, Arizona. I had a chance to bring "The Duelist" to the attention of, in my opinion, some of the most experienced managers of the game. Below are the managers, in order, that have seen the handbook, and verified its contents as 'good information' for any manager to have, especially any new manager: Boss Rat - David Law - Dark Circle Guardian - Steve McDonald - Dark Circle Doc LeGrand - Deke Young Shadow - James Vance - League Arcane Carapace - Joel Breger - NCA Hoffa - Jim Patrick - Legion 7 Soultaker - Craig Mundale - FONZ "many" - Wayne Smith - The Consortium (Thank you, gentlemen, for taking up your own time at the FTF for going through my handbook, and allowing me to use your names in the all-arena-add.) This is how you can get "the Duelist": Please understand that this is not a means for me to gain anything monetarily, nor is it sponsored in any way by RSI. My only benefit is that I will have done all I can do to help keep this game alive, and hopefully by evening out the battlefield, make it more enjoyable for everyone. I have been able to reduce the costs of the handbook to $7 (seven dollars), which includes postage & handling. Just send a check, or money order, payable to me, along with your name and address, and I'll send you the handbook. I know that once you get your packet in the mail, it will be the best seven dollars you have ever spent on this game. Ross Pimentel - Pagan Anthropos Kratos - dm-7 & dm-10 536 Bard Rd. Pt. FAXING IN TURNS If you fax in your Duelmasters turns, realize that most fax machines have a border on the right and left side of the paper where no image is transmitted or printed. When you put your strategy sheet in the fax machine, make sure you allow extra room on the right side, especially if you are challenging that turn. When the ID# of the warrior you are challenging is cut off, we are unable to enter the challenges. There are four possible solutions to this problem: 1) Load the strategies farther to the left, so the Duelmasters dude is cut off, rather than your challenges, 2) Write the ID# of the warrior you're challenging in the space for the name, 3) Load the strategies long-wise (but then you have to be careful about overlapping the sheets, which can also cut off the ID#s), or 4) Face the fact that you won't get all of your challenges through. We'd prefer solutions 1-3, but it's your choice. Also, please be careful that your fax machine isn't transmitting too darkly or lightly. If you write your turn in pencil, some fax machines will transmit the pencil so lightly we can't read it when it gets here. If your fax machine can make copies, it's a good idea to try making a copy first to make sure it's readable, adjust the darkness if you need to, and then fax it to us. Be especially wary of the Advanced Duelmasters Strategy Sheets, because if your fax machine sends the grey shading too darkly, we won't be able to read those lines at all. Good luck! -- Green Eyes
