DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Just checking in on my favorite island in the land of Duelmasters and noticed
that Roulette Hammer has ascended to the View at the Top of our beloved Niytyole
Island.
I send everyone greetings from my favorite island in the Philippines, namely
Cebu.
Will have to continue running Roulette Hammer on maintenance until I return to
Qatar in the Middle East and then check on my new rollups and get them competing in
the Hammer Run for the Rollups.
May the New Year prove to be the best ever for all of you wherever you may be!

the reigning Duelmistress while Hammer went off and got himself married overseas. He

SPY REPORT
Busy, busy, busy, lots of things happening in NIYTYOLE ISLAND this turn, and
let's start with a look at some of the teams. SACKETT'S & CO. stable has parlayed
this turn's 2-0-1 into a 5 space move up the rankings. This brings them up to 6th
place. Good work, guys! And let's see, HEY, ZEUS! fought JOE FRIDAY and gained 13
points and contributed to WHEN DOGMA FAILS' 3-2-0. DA SPINS has lost to LONIGAN,
falling 10 points, while helping make JOYS OF BOOZE a 0-2-0 turn. KEOKOTAH
challenged for the Duelmastership this turn, attempting to dethrone CASINO HAMMERZ's
warrior. Somebody's not going to like this, (then again, somebody will), but our
Duelmaster, ROULETTE HAMMER, has died, and KEOKOTAH has killed her. Can someone
confirm a rumor for me? I hear the top team makes their losing fighters do dishes at
The Don't Drop Inn until they win. Maybe?
I tell you, a green quarterstaff lasts longer than a seasoned sapling. A basher
friend of mine assures me this is true. CASINO HAMMERZ has cause to stand tall, as
they were NIYTYOLE ISLAND's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team
to beat. And guess who avoided CASINO HAMMERZ stable the most? Believe it or not,
it was OBSIDIAN HALL. Anyone surprised? The most challenged warrior this turn was
PETS ON FIRE's warrior PUT OUT THE CAT. More fighters challenged her than challenged
the Duelmaster! In a brave attempt, SPRYTE from OBSIDIAN HALL challenged up 24
points to fight LIGHT DA' PYRE from the WHEN DOGMA FAILS stable. SPRYTE perhaps got
his just desserts, seeing as he subdued LIGHT DA' PYRE and ended up with 104
recognition points.
A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man only once. Wise men know this to
be true. We'd like to remind certain teams not to rob the graves of their enemies.
You know who you are; and it's considered rude.

ZalCon2 Updates (1/9/04)
The contest will be starting on the turn due February 23rd, 2004 and run for 20
turns.
Only one team will be allowed for each manager in the contest, regardless of
whether additional teams are announced as contest entries. No exceptions for any
reason.
The Style Master points should read that there is +1 point for beating a member
of your own style even if the warrior is not registered for the contest.
Rolling points for consecutive turns as Style Master means that your warrior
gets the extra point every turn after the first 3 that he continues to hold the
title.
The points for Quality Wins should be clarified to read the winning warrior is
ranked below by the number of recognition points needed for each bonus point at the
start of the fight. For example, Warrior A (3-2-0, 17) beats Warrior B (4-1-0, 35)
and receives 2 bonus points under Quality Win for the 18 point difference in the
ranking.
I believe that is all the clarifications for the moment, please feel free to
