                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

Howdy ya'll,

I'm Kid Rodelo, new Duelmaster and after this fight will be heading on into ADM.
Sorry Lioness but I couldn't stand seeing that 0 in your loss column. I think it
looks better now with a 1. Well Screwface, you're the only one there for me to fight
so you're who I'm challenging this my last turn here on this fine Island.

Adios all, it truly has been a pleasure.

                           Kid Rodelo

                                      SPY REPORT

Good day, friends and fiends, welcome to your friendly neighborhood spyreport.
I doubt NIATOLI ISLAND will ever be the same. It seems the training can make the
difference, as HALCYON DAZE is pushed out of top team by SACKETT'S & CO., who came
from 2nd with a 2-1-0 this turn. Now keep the taverns open late tonight, for there
are sorrows to drown for HALCYON DAZE, whose 0-0-0 this turn dropped them by 4 into
5th. PHILANTHROPISTS stable has parlayed this turn's 2-1-0 into a 4 space move up
the rankings. This brings them up to 3rd place. Good work, guys! And let's see,
PANDORA fought VETERAN MERCENARY and gained 17 points and contributed to OBSIDIAN
HALL's 3-1-0. SPRYTE has lost to LIONESS, falling 10 points, while helping make
OBSIDIAN HALL a 3-1-0 turn. This week's Duelmaster bout was between SCREWFACE and
our Duelmaster KID RODELO, making a challenge. Defending his title for another turn,
KID RODELO kept PHILANTHROPISTS' warrior, SCREWFACE, from claiming the throne. By
the way, was that our Duelmaster that I saw last night, cramped under the table at
The Don't Drop Inn?
I tell you, a green quarterstaff lasts longer than a seasoned sapling. A basher
friend of mine assures me this is true. I also notice that the DARK TOADS II stable
was the most avoided team this turn. Come on NIATOLI ISLAND, what are you afraid of?
And avoiding DARK TOADS II more than any other team we find PHILANTHROPISTS. NIATOLI
ISLAND, are we going to accept, or respect this sort of thing? The most challenged
warrior this turn was THE SEWING CIRCLE's warrior THIMBELL. More fighters challenged
him than challenged the Duelmaster! LONIGAN of SACKETT'S & CO. had better have a
good reason for challenging down 12 points in a challenge which he won. I thought
LONIGAN showed great skill and promise when he overcame THIMBELL. All right, so I
slept through it! Big deal!
We only live a short time in this world, so why not take a sharp blade, and
shave it close? We'd like to remind certain teams not to rob the graves of their
enemies. You know who you are; and it's considered rude.
I like this place, NIATOLI ISLAND, the taverns have old wine, and young serving
girls. Who could ask for more? It's been nice chatting with you, until we meet
again, keep your swords sharp and your hammers heavy. Until you see my quill in
NIATOLI ISLAND again, farewell-- Alarond the Scribe

Screwface -- Man, I must be getting old, with all these extra fights I have over you

Barnabas -- To paraphrase one of my old rivals in this very arena, "Keep your mouth

Superior Baggins -- Hmm. THIS is a superior baggins? No interior compartments. No

Why don't we just make the Convicted Thief swim to the mainland? -- Korienellen

Ed. -- Well, it SHOULDN'T grow in trees, but the "biogenetic research and

Kid Rodelo -- I am told that so long as the ship is there to meet you at the shore,

A few notes about e-mailed personals:

You may submit personal ads, columns, spotlights, etc. electronically, either via e-
mail to ads at reality dot com (which doesn't need any more spam, thank you) or on
the web at http://www.reality.com/duel2/modules.php?name=Ads. When you submit
something, you should get back a receipt from HAL at RSI. If you do NOT get a
receipt, your ads may have gone astray (not all e-mail makes it to its destination
any more than all snail mail does). If you DO get a receipt, it should, in the body
of the message, tell you what arena your stuff was filed in. Check your receipt to
make sure your submission made it to the intended destination. Also check to see
that everything you sent made it to the same place. Sometimes HAL, who is rather
simple-minded in some ways, will send half your stuff to another arena if the name
or number of that arena shows up at the beginning of a line. So if the word Ti
appears at the beginning of a line halfway through your ads, all the ads after that
may end up in Ti, which is closed and doesn't need ads. As a side note, sometimes
things move slowly, so don't wait until the last minute to send your ads and all.
If they get held up along the way, they may not show up until next turn. Happy
writing! -- Ed.

To all those lookin' for some easy pickins: I, Elfwine, manager of The Shallowship,
the most feared team in all of Jhelum, invite all who seek wide open spaces for pubs
and other such establishments of limited debauchery, to visit this deserted city and

help me clear up some of the dust. I'm just about ready to have my guys face off
against each other to get some new action. Guess I'd better join a tournament or
something...hmmmm, there's a thought.

                                  LAST WEEK'S FIGHTS
