It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the clash and bustle of the weekly MURSKA games. Former top team BLITZKRIEG was unseated this week as BUSY, BUSYTOWN moved up from 2nd ranking to take the top spot with a 3-2-0 record for the round. BANANNAS GORILLA caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested MORPETH and was awarded 17 points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, BANANNAS GORILLA put down MORPETH, causing her to lose 10 points of recognition in the process. Due to his absence and inability to defend the throne, BARRISTER has lost the title of Duelmaster. This time victory fell to the grasp of the usurper. All hail MEGALODON, Duelmaster of MURSKA! Informants "close" to the city champion have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out! But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades that is city MURSKA. My inside sources tell me that the team to beat in MURSKA these days is CHILDREN OF LLYR. At least, most blades in town are looking to avoid them. Apparently the stalwarts of BUSY, BUSYTOWN are catching the bulk of jests down at the challenging board for their large share of the avoids. Mighty fighters cannot but expect competition from those below. OISAN take warning! You have more than a few enemies in MURSKA. I can not but mention with disdain the name of RAZZLE DAZZLE who this week posted a challenge to a warrior a full 9 points below in the rankings. I thought RAZZLE DAZZLE showed great skill and promise when he defeated OISAN. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal! Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more than its fair share of red in recent times. Dark alleys may hide both secrets and assassins. In the arena there is only the brightness of steel. Keep vigil always! A thought before I go. Each warrior practices one style, but must not the wise manager learn the secrets of them all? More than a sharp eye must I keep, indeed a stout pair of legs must I keep as well! The endless paths of Alastari await me! Till we meet again, remember: a turtle walks slow, hides head in a shell, and harms no one; a lion runs to slay its prey.-- Zontani Sharp Eyes DUELMASTER W L K POINTS TEAM NAME MEGALODON 3838 10 2 0 87 DEVILS OF THE DEEP (358) CHALLENGER CHAMPIONS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME -BARRISTER 3817 10 3 2 133 BLITZKRIEG (357) CHAMPIONS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME DARLING NIKKI 3842 8 1 2 83 BLITZKRIEG (357) KAMA KAZI 3859 8 0 1 82 BLITZKRIEG (357) CHALLENGER ADEPTS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME O'MALLEY 3816 8 6 1 64 BLITZKRIEG (357) RAZZLE DAZZLE 3863 6 0 0 64 BLITZKRIEG (357) ADEPTS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME BLUE EYES 3845 10 2 0 53 THE BEARS (253) TAKE COVER 3870 4 1 2 49 THE BEARS (253) OISAN 3794 8 24 0 48 CHILDREN OF LLYR (141) BANANNAS GORILLA 3876 3 0 1 42 BUSY, BUSYTOWN (360) CHALLENGER INITIATES W L K POINTS TEAM NAME CU-CADAL 3848 6 12 0 30 CHILDREN OF LLYR (141) MR. THE DEAD W L K TEAM NAME SLAIN BY TURN Revenge? PERSONAL ADS Murska -- Just to show what a true team player I am I will sit out this turn so one of my team-mates has the opportunity to fight for the throne. -- Barrister Papa Bear -- Hmm...see that Tom Thumb disappeared from the CC's. This must mean he met a terrible fate in the tourney. You may wanna check Rascally Rabbit's guildhouse. I think he made a voodoo doll of Tom after the F2F. -- Polarius Papa Bear -- Hmm...I guess I need to read all of the NL before I assume Tom died in the tourney. Congrats on the grad and the TC! -- Polarius P.S. I guess I can just be proud that Barrister actually beat Tom (a 2 time TC). Polarius -- Hail and well met! Name's Huckle Cat and I'm managing Busytown here. Just returned after 10 years away and thoroughly enjoying it and kicking myself for ever having left. I used to go by Spectrum back in the day. I'm a mediocre manager at best, but the stand ins are keeping my w/l record high for the moment. I'm sure that'll change when they start going head to head against human opponents. Best regards. -- Huckle Cat O'Malley -- (wincing) You should be called "O'Mallet" for the way you hammered me. -- Oisan Razzle Dazzle -- Quite blinding. And confusing. I hate being blinded and confused. Please don't do that again! -- Morpeth the blinded and confused It isn't the Merchant's Usery I mind so much, it's his insufferable smugness. -- Cu Cadal P.S. And I suspect that he's dealing treasonously with the Karnhorns, besides. Mr. Frumble -- (recoiling in horror) You're nothing but a stealth Aruaki! -- Dallow Huckle Cat -- I must admit that I'm surprised to discover that you are NOT an Arena Feline. -- Kai P.S. And many thanks for my first win, too. Actually, I kinda liked Doomcorps. They added a certain something to Alastari. -- Jorja Polarius -- To answer your question, I am Huckle Cat, manager of Busytown. I just rejoined after 10 years away. If you knew me back then, I went by Spectrum. I'm not a manager of any note or fame, but have been involved in D2 since '85/86. My main teams were/are Lords of Chaos (11), Avengers (31) and As Far as Siam (40) I've still never made it to a F2F, but would like to make one the next time it's on the East Coast. Best. -- Huckle Cat Polarius -- I just realized I replied twice to your question, once last week and once this week. I'm getting senile in my old age! Doh!! -- Huckle Cat 22 October 2004 Youngblood's Three and Out Contest I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before, here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules (like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later). 1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only. 2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.) 3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts. 4. All warriors will run until they lose three times, after three losses they are eliminated. 5. If a warrior sits out a turn, they are accounted with a loss in the contest. This is to keep warriors with winning records from sitting out until the end of the contest. 6. If a warrior is killed during the contest, the replacement cannot enter the contest. 7. If a warrior is killed, bloodfeuding is allowed, but only by a warrior that is active in the contest. 8. If a warrior is run after being eliminated, the manager is disqualified from the contest, no questions asked. 9. Challenges are legal, up or down. 10. Contest will keep going until 1 warrior is left without three losses, and that warrior, of course, is accounted the winner. 11. All managers participating will be asked to purchase a rollup certificate, to be awarded to the winners of the contest. <<<PRIZES>>> As I have already said, and according to participation, rollups will be awarded to the first and second place managers. So the majority and minority of the rollups will be determined when all are accumulated. Contest Champion--2 Faves prizes, and majority of rollup certificates Contest Runner-up--1 Faves prize, and minority of rollup certificates So once again I invite all managers old and new to participate in what should be a fierce and challenging contest. <<<REMEMBER, FIRST OFFICIAL TURN OF THE CONTEST IS DECEMBER THE FIRST, AND AS I SAID BEFORE, THE TURN BEFORE (NOVEMBER 17TH) YOU MAY DARK ARENA CHALLENGE ONLY!!! ANY WARRIOR WITH ANY FE (FIGHT EXPERIENCE) WHEN THE CONTEST STARTS WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM THE CONTEST. YOUNGBLOOD of WENSINWASIN 11 November 2004 All you alliance-type people, I'm trying (again!) to get my alliance listing correct and up to date. Either send me a diplo (address it to The Saint) or send your updates to me directly at Sue at solberg-mathews.com. As you may guess, replace the at with @ and you're good to go (I do hate spammy mail and this will end up on the web). I have information on the following alliances: ADIO, Allied Axis, Armada, Brotherhood of Justice, Brotherhood of the Blade, Cadre, CDC, Chaos, Inc., Circle of Order, Company of Brothers, Consortium, Council of Lords, Couple Good Guys, Crimson Vengeance, DOA, DOOMcorps, Enigmafia, Eurosquad, Fascist Federation, FONZ, Frothingslosh Syndicate, GAPPDA, Homeland Alliance, IT Alliance, Jingoists, kLk, Knights of the Covenant, LBA, League Arcane, Legion6, Living Essences, Lords and Ladies of Darkness, Manic Union, Midnight Foundation, Minions of Diana, Monarchs of Montezuma, NCA, NIMROD, R.A.G.E., Seventh Sons, The Firm, The French Connection, Vendett@ United, and the Vendetta Cartel. If you are a member of one of these alliances, let me know. If you are a member of some other alliance that isn't listed, let me know. If you were at any point in your past a part of one of these alliance but are now independent, also let me know. Going inactive doesn't mean you get removed from this list; people are assumed to still be in the same alliance when they return. Even having everyone in an alliance go inactive doesn't change anything. If an alliance is officially disbanding, that's another thing you have to let me know.... The Saint, keeper of lists P.S. If you already responded to my online plea (and I replied), you can ignore this. 17 November 2004 Hammer 500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups Hosted by Hammer Niytyole Island DM 33 has dwindled to the point where as of T-482 [duedate November 3, 2004] there were only 2 active stables listed with 3 inactive stables in a once thriving and lively regular arena. During the past 40+ cycles Hammer has been hosting the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups in DM 33. Thus far only the Ripper and Slasher categories have produced winners to claim the 5 New Team Roll Ups Prize for being the first declared Style Master of their respective categories to graduate. Every contending stable has gone inactive for one reason or another, including CASINO HAMMERZ, over the past several months. Now DM 33 faces the harsh reality that if RSI chooses to close any arenas due to little or no interest, Niytyole Island could very well head the list of endangered regular arenas! In an effort to preserve his beloved island, Hammer is announcing the continuation of the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups; combined with the Hammer 500 which will conclude both contests on T-500 [duedate July 13, 2005] should DM 33 continue to remain open in the coming months. Attention Hammer Runners! The Hammer Run is for 0 FE Basic Arena Warriors ONLY. Participants MUST Be Declared in the P-ads On or Before their First DM 33 Basic Arena Fight to Qualify as a Hammer Runner! Winners of Each Category will receive 5 New Team Roll Up Gift Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! [On the condition that they Graduate on or before T-500; see amended rules below!] The following Style Master categories remain open with a listing of how many declared contestants are still entered and their W/L recognition record at the time of their disappearance from the Hammer Run competition: (P-ad declarations in parenthesis) [Manager name/Stable name in brackets] followed by their last known W/L recognition ranking Rippers Category Now Closed for Hammer Run as of T-475 01. Any declared warrior who succeeds in graduating by T-500 will win 5 New Team Roll Ups Gift Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! Gift Certs will be awarded as soon as possible upon official graduation if the graduation occurs prior to T-500. On T-500 the highest ranked ACTIVE declared warrior in the category(s) without a Graduate will win 2 New Team Roll Ups Gift Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! Additional Hammer 500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups Gift Cert Prizes: Five (5) Gift Certs will be awarded to the manager whose warrior claims the Duelmaster Throne on T-500. Two (2) Gift Certs will be awarded to the manager(s) whose warrior(s) are listed as the highest Active Challenger Champion, Champion, Challenger Adept, Adept, Challenger Initiate and Initiate on T-500. In the event that NO Duelmaster is seated upon the Duelmaster Throne on T-500 there will be Three (3) Gift Certs awarded to the managers whose Active warriors are tied for recognition points at the Top of the Challenger Champions recognition standings. [Therefore, the Top CC will be awarded 3 Gift Certs instead of 2 for being ranked as the highest CC on T-500]. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager(s) whose warrior(s) graduate on T-500. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager(s) whose warrior(s) receive their graduation announcement on T-500. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager whose stable is listed as the Top Career Honors Chartered Team on T-500. One (1) Gift Cert will be awarded to the manager whose stable is listed as the Top Career Honors Unchartered Team on T-500. SHOULD RSI CHOOSE TO CLOSE DM 33 PRIOR TO T-500 ONLY THE HIGHEST ACTIVE DECLARED STYLE MASTER CONTESTANTS WILL BE AWARDED TWO (2) GIFT CERTS AND ALL OTHER PRIZE CATEGORIES WILL BE DECLARED NULL AND VOID BY HAMMER!!!!!!!!! The purpose of this contest is to restore DM 33 to a lively and entertaining arena! Hammer is willing to foot the Prize bill in a last ditch effort to save Niytyole Island from deletion if RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission decide that more arenas need to be closed due to lack of participation and interest. Should this effort fail to spare DM 33 from deletion, then Hammer is prepared to transfer CASINO HAMMERZ to another arena if Niytyole Island is closed by RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission.
