Notes from the arena champ.
Blondie, love your Heart of Glass, wish you'd stick it out a bit longer. Not
much to say, this arena is terribly quiet, certainly not the Jhans of old. But with
this appearance on the throne, it is regrettable that I have to announce that this is
likely my last appearance here for a while, as my manager is shutting down all his
fast arenas, at least until next summer. It's not even certain we'll be back then.

SPY REPORT
Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly JHANS games. Former top team EVER AFTER was unseated
this week as UNKNOWNS moved up from 2nd ranking to take the top spot with a 3-0-0
record for the round. Fortune did not smile upon ERRATA this time out who this turn
suffered a fall into 8th position in the wake of a 0-4-0 round. Warriors--remember
that glory waits always around the corner! Witness how this week IRON TIGERS went
2-2-0 to move up 3 in the rankings. Did only my eyes note the 3-0-0 record which
UNKNOWNS managed to post this round? I don't doubt that such a record will draw
challengers! CONCRETE caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as it
skillfully bested TARGEN and was awarded 20 points in recognition. In one of the
week's more notable duels, CONCRETE put down TARGEN, causing him to lose 13 points of
recognition in the process. Due to its absence and inability to defend the throne,
MANICOUAGAN has lost the title of Duelmaster. This time victory fell to the grasp of
the usurper. All hail BLONDIE, Duelmaster of JHANS! No confirmation, but my sources
claim that the top team has gained their position using magical aids. Charmed
weapons perhaps?
Many and various are the arts of battle. In JHANS "art" is a word that has long
since passed from the language! I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when this
week's challenge seeking began. UNKNOWNS is feared. This much I can say.
Apparently the stalwarts of REVELATIONS are catching the bulk of jests down at the
challenging board for their large share of the avoids. Mighty fighters cannot but
expect competition from those below. PALADIN take warning! You have more than a few
enemies in JHANS. A match that raised a few eyebrows at the games this week, it
seems that CAVALIER posted a challenge against the more highly recognized PINK BEAR.
The results, you ask? Well, the firebrand CAVALIER was killed by PINK BEAR.
Remember warriors, this is the discipline of steel. I can not but mention with
disdain the name of CHLOE OF BRATZ who this week posted a challenge to a warrior a
full 13 points below in the rankings. I thought CHLOE OF BRATZ showed great skill
and promise when she was defeated by SHIRLEY. All right, so I slept through it! Big
deal!
What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his
foe's mortality? I must report the passing of CAVALIER, veteran of many duels.
4-6-0 final record His was not illustrious--but death plays no favorites. Dark
alleys may hide both secrets and assassins. In the arena there is only the
brightness of steel. Keep vigil always!
The girls are as pretty in JHANS as ever I remembered them....and the fighters
as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! Ahh, but I can hear the spires of a far

Citizens of Ghea (only the ignorant fail to note Lirith Kai is not in Alastari),
no new day is rising, but the sun is setting on just another beautiful evening.
While you were sleeping, an irksome rabble has entered the always fair Aruak City.
Of course they fought alongside our warriors, most not so treasured, as all
gladiators do. They drank with themselves, and slept with themselves. Whether they
had masks, who cares.
Warriors, don't be afraid. For years Aruak has been one of the safest cities in
Ghea, and that custom has been continually cultivated, and will continue to be by
those who have called it home for years and those who live, fight, and die by the
same ethics. There is no contest, nor has there ever needed to be one for many
years. A conflict of personalities has arisen, and the city has been 'invaded' by
pests.
Any rules that are annouced will be purely for the joy of the lemmings' own
little world. Those who are being targeted have no interest in participating except
to defend the integrity of an arena that is different from others. Whether you
choose to come to Aruak, do it for your own reasons, not theirs.
Competing in Aruak City has never been for the faint of heart or the weak willed.
Combat is combat, wherever you go. Blood will flow as always, and now many innocents
will be caught in the middle, but those who defend Aruak's traditions never target
those who bring respect of Aruaki customs with them to our home.
So ignore the private ranting announcement brought by the stuporous
Frothingsloshers. If you choose Aruak City, do not choose it for an unsanctioned and
bogus 'contest', choose it for the tradition. Choose it because Aruak is different.

An Announcement Concerning the Brotherhood of the Blade Alliance:
I have chosen to withdraw my membership from the Brotherhood of the Blade
alliance. The years I have spent in the alliance have been the best of my DM career.
I leave the alliance with many great friends and will always remain close to my
former brethren.
The Brotherhood of the Blade will not skip a beat without my membership. It
remains in very capable hands and its roster is among the strongest in the game.
With the return on some of its founding members to DM, I know the BOB will continue
