Moving so as to not awaken Amber and Ginger, Iver rose slowly from the bed, the
light from the candles casting several distorted shadows upon the walls. He padded
quietly over the bear skin rug on the way to the adjoining bathroom. Stumbling on
something that poked his foot painfully, he muttered "Damn spiked corset!" under his
breath. He sidestepped the rest of the Amber's discarded outfit, only to gouge his
other foot on one of Ginger's stiletto's. "This place is turning into an obstacle
course Desade would be proud of." he thought, grimacing slightly. He made the rest
of the trip without suffering any further bodily harm and closed the door behind him.
Taking a seat he pondered the day's events....
Sitting at their table in the tavern, the din of the usual suspects drowning out
most, if not all, attempts at conversation, he recognized one of the Puppet's enter
the smoky room. "What was his name?..." he thought, "something that sounded
important, which was in quite contradiction to reality as far as this individual was
concerned...what was it?...ah yes, Azrael."
Summoning the serving wench, he sent her off to take Azrael an ale. The man
made his way toward their table when the wench pointed their way upon delivering the
ale. "My thanks, Nunzio." he said in something slightly less than a yell above the
racket.
"Actually, I am no longer using that moniker" Iver retorted a little louder,
"Once again, and forevermore, I am Iver." The noise dropped a little as several of
the patrons, including a few stable managers, quieted to hear the exchange. "I would
ask you to sit, but as there are no more chairs to be had, I will be quick in
explanation."
"I am concerned that your feel that I have been misled or somehow duped into
joining up with DOOMcorps." Iver paused to take a sip of the Amber Ale he and his
ladies were drinking. "I know not what the master that pulls your strings has told
you about myself and the history of DOOMcorps..."
Azrael broke in, sputtering loudly with a crimson trace rising to his cheeks,
"Now see here, I am no one's puppe--"
His declaration ended with a yelp of pain, as Ginger spiked the top of his foot
with her stiletto heeled leather boot. "Keep a civil tongue while you talk to My
Lord, or it might come up missing sometime in the middle of the night." Ginger
growled. Azrael groaned in agony when she gave the heel another twist.
"As I was saying", Iver started again "I am no one's dupe and my Alliance with
DOOMcorps is a return to where I belong...home." The room had become quite still
now, as everyone could not help but notice Azrael's unmistakable agony and Ginger's
sweet smile as she twisted the stiletto heel. "Your mistaken assumption that I
should beware my 'new' allies, is laughable, for they are vastly more honorable than
the rabble that you bunk with in your puppet crates." Iver drained the last of his
ale and stood, "If anything, you should 'ware your master, for he has alienated
himself from all of his allies from past history with his own paranoid machinations."
Amber brushed Azrael's pain whitened sweaty face with a leather clad hand as she
rose as well. "Simply pathetic," she smirked, "what a substandard tolerance for pain
you have." She walked past him toward the door, dropping several gold coins on the
bar.
Iver brought his face closer to Azrael's and said, "Run and tell your master
that he and his puppets have nothing to offer me...except your blood on the sands."
Ginger, using only the heel planted firmly in Azrael's foot, vaulted to her
feet, causing him to collapse with a gasp of pain. The noise from the gathered
patrons rose again as Iver and his Girls left the tavern, everyone pointedly ignoring
the heap on the floor....
Iver glanced around for the paper.... "Damn! living with two women! There's
never anything to wipe with around when you need it." He then noticed his clothes
crumpled by the wash basin. There was just a hint of red cloth in the pile. He
reached out and drew the silky cloth to him. The material unfolded in his hands as
he pulled it out, it was the silly black and red banner of the Puppet Brigade's so-
called alliance. Amber had lifted from Azrael's pocket as he was pinned to the floor
by Ginger's heel. "My Girls," Iver thought warmly, "unknowingly providing for me in
my time of need..." as he folded the banner up into a more serviceable cloth....
DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Hiyas, CosmoWorld! 'Tis I, Misti, your undisputed Duelmistress! The only thing more
overwhelming than my gorgeous figure and unrelenting ferocity is the awful smell in
here. I heard the city had to bring in a brand new throne just because the old one
was so disgustingly filthy and it was covered in sawdust, oddly enough. Cluracan
didn't put up much of a fight and was utterly boring. I mean maybe he should learn
to be a little more exciting if he's going to challenge a girl for a date. At first
I was curious as to why he hid behind all that armor but then at the end of the fight
the medics removed his helm and I realized just how UGLY he really is! He is like
totally hideous! Then I looked down and saw his manager, who I thought I would break
just by staring at him too hard, and suddenly Cluracan looked like princess charming.
How does CosmoWorld spawn all these horribly unattractive men and why are they always
chasing after me? Oh, well, whatever. I guess my time here is very limited so I
should wrap it up and give the Ill One time to speak but before I go I'd like to
dedicate this throne to Ultraist. Congrats, Big Sexy!

Bastards! I would just like to congratulate my fellow Warlord, Ultraist, on his
stunning performance and always expected success in the contest. Funny how Bookie
guaranteed everyone that he and his puppets would not allow you to even finish in the
top three, Ultraist. I guess this proves that you should never trust the man behind
the curtain. My question is whether he actually believed himself when he made the
statement or if he was just trying to appear bold in front of his dolls? Either way
it just further solidifies the fact that they are nothing but foolish liars who love
to pollute the air with their foul mouths and ignorant tongues. Blade high,

I doubt JHANS will ever be the same. It seems the training can make the difference,
as THE CHADS is pushed out of top team by WOLFCATS, who came from 3rd with a 3-2-0
this turn. It doesn't rain, but it pours for LEGENDARY BASTARDS this turn, a 1-3-0
causing a 15 flight drop in the team rankings. Hand that team a dry towel. The THE
BEARS guild has had a 4-1-1 turn and deserves to be watched in the future. You never
know where this kind of thing can lead. On their very first turn, COLONY had a
3-2-0, and with this kind of luck or skill, should do well. Welcome to JHANS. And
let's see, BADDA BAMM fought CLURACAN and gained 23 points and contributed to
SUICIDAL DREAMS' 3-2-0. BADDA BANG has lost to PIGFEED PICKTAN, falling 19 points,
while helping make THE FALLEN a 2-3-0 turn. Due to hers absence and inability to
defend the throne, WHIRLING MIST has lost the title of Duelmaster. And all eyes were
on TIMBER LION this turn as she ascended to the throne of Duelmaster. JHANS has a
new victor! Can someone confirm a rumor for me? I hear the top team makes their
losing fighters do dishes at Lucas Lounge until they win. Maybe?
The crowd's roar, the smell of iron and leather, mixed with sweat, what more
could a warrior ask of life? Well, besides that. I also notice that the BLITZKRIEG
stable was the most avoided team this turn. Come on JHANS, what are you afraid of?
And guess who avoided BLITZKRIEG stable the most? Believe it or not, it was SUICIDAL
DREAMS. Anyone surprised? The most challenged warrior this turn was WOLFCATS'
warrior CHEETAH'S GROWL. More fighters challenged her than challenged the
Duelmaster! I don't know about you, but MARCIE challenging down 21 points to
WOLFCATS' CHEETAH'S GROWL, is not really worthy of BABES. We're not surprised to
hear that MARCIE bested CHEETAH'S GROWL, but I bet it would be interesting to hear
why BABES made such a challenge. Well now, what do you expect when someone like
SUBZERO from KAMIKAZI challenges down 16 points to fight FRANKENSLOSH of HELTER
SKELTER? Well, will you look at this, SUBZERO was defeated by FRANKENSLOSH, and
KAMIKAZI will have to explain why they made such a challenge in the first place.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. HEAVY MENTAL, does your manager know you're challenging down 28
points to fight POUNCE from WOLFCATS? Well, it only serves justice to see that HEAVY
MENTAL was overcame by POUNCE. Heh, heh. I don't know about you, but HOUND OF SATAN
challenging down 22 points to BOOKIE'S BROTHEL's SQUEAKY FROMME, is not really worthy
of REVELATION. It pains me to see warriors take advantage of the system like this.
HOUND OF SATAN defeated SQUEAKY FROMME, as if it surprises anyone. In a brave
attempt, MISCOUNT from THE CHADS challenged up 22 points to fight DEVASTATOR from the
THE FALLEN stable. MISCOUNT perhaps got its just desserts, seeing as it bested
DEVASTATOR and ended up with 87 recognition points.
The Dark Arena is for those who cannot win, not who cannot lose with grace.
Dignity in life or death is the warrior's creed. ZEPPO must have surprised THE BEARS
this turn, after they sent him to the Dark Arena, but the Dark Arena couldn't hold
him! A brave warrior does not carry a red shield, he has nothing to cover or hide
when the fight is over. Consider well.
I like this place, JHANS, the taverns have old wine, and young serving girls.
Who could ask for more? Always good to rest in JHANS, but never good to wear out my
welcome. Look for me in future turns. Until you see my quill in JHANS again,

Battle Royal 4
The Battle Royal arena contests are one of the purest tests of manager skill
available. The rules are simple. The scoring is simple. The updates are live. If
you would like to participate, simply get a team ready in Talcama in the next month
and announce in the personals that you're in. The prize is bragging rights and
having your name along side previous winners (Doc Steele, Manray Frothingslosh, and
Manager). It is a brutal contest, but it is a lot of fun!
Basic rules: No avoiding other contest teams. Score = Wins + Kills -- Losses.
Only fights against other BR teams count. First team to 25 wins!
BR4 begins in Talcama (DM 18) on turn 502, due on Jan 29, 2005.

TURF WAR IV -- GRAND CONTEST NOTICE!
The Turf War IV Grand Contest will commence on Turn 221 (approx. February 22,
2005). For those who have never participated, Turf Wars are alliance-type contest
and Winner-Takes-All. There are no 2nd place winners!
Everyone may participate; known alliances, new alliances, or temporary alliances
created to compete in the Turf War! However, to participate, each alliance must:
A. Announce the alliance name and the Captain of the alliance in the North Fork
(DM #47) newsletter.
Captains are responsible for:
A. Verifying those who wish to participate under the banner of their alliance;
B. Distribution of prizes should their alliance win the TW4.
Managers must:
A. Submit one (1) RSI Roll-up Gift Certificate to participate;
B. Announce their intent to compete with manager name, team name and alliance
in which they will be fighting under, in the DM #47 North Fork newsletter.
Rules:
1. No scoring will begin until an RSI Roll-up Gift Certificate is received. No
exceptions will be made.
2. Before a manager can compete, he must be acknowledged and verified by the Captain
of the alliance he has claimed for;
A. The following turn, points will begin to be awarded or subtracted;
3. Only one (1) team per manager may compete. No multiple aliases please (we'll be
checking this and if caught...you'll be disqualified and no refund);
4. The contest will end on Turn 233 (12 turns!). Winners will be announced on Turn
234 and prizes sent to winning alliance between Turn 233 and 234.
5. No declarations will be acknowledged after Turn 231.
6. For the purpose of scoring, I reserve the right to make all final decisions.

Our next Winter Face-to-Face will be held on Martin Luther King weekend, Friday
through Sunday, 14-16 January 2005, at the Embassy Suites in Tempe, Arizona (4400 S
Rural Rd--this is the same hotel as last year). Room rates are $139.00 per night,
1-4 occupancy, which includes breakfast. The rooms are blocked. The reservations
number is 480-897-7444; tell them you're with the "Reality Simulations Face to Face
Convention" block. Our room block will be released in mid-December, so please make
sure you reserve your room before then!
Room rates include a full cooked-to-order breakfast and a complimentary two-hour
manager's reception. There is a free shuttle to the airport, as well as free parking.
The hotel is located down the freeway in Tempe. All rooms have high speed internet
(for an extra charge). There is a fitness center, jacuzzi, and pool, and of course a
bar and Mexican restaurant inside the hotel. And there's Denny's right across the
street. Look for transportation info in the tournament information sheet.
The tournament information sheet/strategy sheet should be out sometime in late
November/early December.
