The manor house of Azrael, several miles upriver of Jhans, about one a.m. the night
before the arena battles:
Alarms began sounding and the servants were screaming for their Lord to come to
the gates. Azrael quickly ran from his bedroom, meeting his Second High Commander at
the steps leading up to the wall.
"My Lord, the river is full of V@U ships and the manor is completely surrounded
by the armada of Your Enemies. We have maybe a third of their numbers, Sir." the
High Commander stated.
"Siege engines?" Azrael asked.
"None, my Lord." he replied.
As he reached the top of the wall, Azrael could not help but wonder what this
was meant to do. His enemies from Jhans knew very well he could Travel and a siege
was of no consequence. He could get what he needed from anywhere. And this looked
like a conquering attack and again the walls and gate were not breakable. The gate
could only be opened from without by a Word of Command. And only he and his militia
knew the password. So what was this about, he again wondered as Kizzle walked out of
the group of men at the head of the main column. Azrael was about to call out when
Kizzle suddenly shouted the word, "YUGIOH!"
Azrael paled as the gates began to open.
Hours later, Azrael was thrown before the assembled Warlords and Dark Knights.
Shielded from the Godsource, his body wounded in a hundred places, he could feel the
life draining from him. One person was speaking, he couldn't tell who at first, a
clown he thought. They sentence him to death, huh, nothing can stop that now. Ill
Kid leans over and spat in his broken and bloodied face. He moved to take one with
him. And was stopped by one he never thought to see. Gargomel, his Junior
Commander. He managed to yell one word as he was stabbed through the heart and
tossed into the dark waters of the river.
"TTTRRRRAAIIIIITTTTTOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
He saw the image of his Commanders and High Commanders thrown into the river
behind him before he slipped under the cold waters.
SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of JHANS! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes,
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team THE DREAMING was unseated
this week as KAMIKAZI moved up from 3rd ranking to take the top spot with a 4-1-1
record for the round. I have begun to suspect trickery on the part of WAY OF THE
SWORD C4. How else weeks like this one's 3-1-0? How else the sudden move to 3rd
team? The proverbial rising comet can only hope to compare with FAR EAST TREASURES'
team record! A 3-2-0 week and now a firm grasp on a 7th place ranking. I have begun
to suspect trickery on the part of HELTER SKELTER. How else weeks like this one's
3-1-0? How else the sudden move to 9th team? The proverbial rising comet can only
hope to compare with MAROON MIDGET's team record! A 3-2-1 week and now a firm grasp
on a 12th place ranking. My praise to 5440 OR FIGHT! for their 3-1-0 week this time
out. Indeed, it was a skillfully fought round deserving of notice! CAPN HAPPY
caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested JIGSAW
KILLER and was awarded 20 points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable
duels, CAPN HAPPY put down JIGSAW KILLER, causing him to lose 19 points of
recognition in the process. Who here was not present for the title fight this week
as BENANDANTI boldly TV challenged DEVASTATOR in order to strive for the Duelmasters
honors? This time victory fell to the grasp of the usurper. All hail BENANDANTI,
Duelmaster of JHANS! Informants "close" to the city champion have told me that he
never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out!
Many and various are the arts of battle. In JHANS "art" is a word that has long
since passed from the language! JHANS, city of gladiators! Mighty among the names
of thy guilds is MEMPHIS MAFIA II, a guild shunned and avoided by many in the weekly
duels. Methinks more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the
better part of last week avoiding MEMPHIS MAFIA II. Indeed it was BLITZKRIEG. Loose
talk at the arena has reached my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many
fighters are after STONE. Watch your back! As a gladiator gets older, the icy grip
of fear lays hold of hers heart. True, REAPER? Who could miss your "brave"
challenge of AYLA SECURA? The weight of the challenge fell hard upon AYLA SECURA and
predictably she was bested by REAPER. This is how to arouse the anger of an entire
guild! For some warriors honor is not important--only empty victory. See,
gladiators, how GUNNIN' GOLDSTEIN of ANARKYSTS challenged down 16 points to WIND.
All the city knows the duel went in favor of GUNNIN' GOLDSTEIN. I shall not fail to
spread the word in other cities of this "mighty" victory. A match that raised a few
eyebrows at the games this week, it seems that ORPHEUS posted a challenge against the
more highly recognized MR. ANDERSON. The results, you ask? Well, the firebrand
ORPHEUS bested MR. ANDERSON. Remember warriors, this is the discipline of steel.
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! The warrior's path is harsh. For mediocrity there
is but one reward--death. This past week T'HAEL, at 7-10-0, departed JHANS forever.
HEY AZRAEL HAMMER must hold silent, for this week he was humbled in the arena by a
successful Bloodfeud won by BANE of PORTAL. Hail BANE for thy victory! Some say a
warrior is judged by the way he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in
hand then a sword on the belt!
A thought before I go. Each warrior practices one style, but must not the wise
manager learn the secrets of them all? Ahh, but I can hear the spires of a far off
city calling to me. I must away! Till next we meet remember: a fool flies into a

has gotten quiet in here lately, hasn't it? What happened to all the love we had
floating around? I miss the feuding. The hateful spite. The drama. Come on
DOOMies, for me that is what our "war" is about. Ill Kid K's personal to me last
turn was the highlight of the PA's last time. Polarius, Angus, come on with the
hate, guys. It is kinda of boring in here without it. Keep me interested. I mean,
we have all gotten to the point (it seems to me) that nobody is taking anything said
seriously anymore and we should have some fun with it. I think we all finally have
realized it's a game and doesn't mean anything. So let's get back to blasting each
other and if it starts getting out of hand again, I will put the brakes on my boys if

Several questions have been asked about Slaughter's Challenge that I'd like to
address and clarify.
1) All Prizes must be used on the contest team, this includes the resurrection.
Remember any fast arena team should be able to transfer to a slow arena
(except for arena 82, I believe).
2) Warriors will be allowed to fight and run in the dead tourney, should there
be one, and return if an opening can be made without breaking the rules
(i.e. only one DA fight allowed per team).
3) If you win your single DA match you do not get another. It's one use of the
Dark Arena win or lose so if you want him/her/it dead be sure and throw the
match!
4) The resurrection potion's longevity has been extended by the commission to 6
months but the other potions (favorites, and +1 bonus) must still be used
within 2 turns and on a 5 FE or higher warrior. The resurrection can go on
any warrior regardless of FE.

Amendment for "Fratsfas Quest for the Best!"
Managers that have teams already established in Fratsfa need not have (3) three
warriors in the initiates. FE will NOT be a factor. Stables may be entered at any
time. Just announce your stable in the p-ads.
