DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Runabout did just that last turn, and ran into my spear four times in the process. I
am fortunate tonight to address you as your Duelmaster. I consider it an honor to
represent you, and have always flown the city's flag with pride. Some have whispered
already that none of Noble's warriors have gone to AD undefeated. Let me say now
that I do not expect to either. I will pledge to fight the opponent I deem most fit
at a shot for the throne. Noble has given me the go ahead to determine my own
challenges and/or avoids, an honor he almost never gives. A certain group of
managers has questioned Noble's credentials as a manger so he is embroiled in Arvat
and Chimlevtal and will be tied up there for the foreseeable future.
In scanning the arena, it becomes clear I will fight Paws, unless he does not fight,
or unless I get a stand-in somehow. To give Paws and the rest of you a taste of what
you're up against when you face me, know that I have masters or better in four
ratings categories. I'm 29-18 in tourneys and have only one TV (11-3). I'll be
fighting in the challengers of course. Not sure what kind of noise I can make there
--there're some tough customers in that bracket, but I'll do my best!

SPY REPORT
Welcome CLIFFHOME. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights
have I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... Biff! Pow! CLIFFHOME
watched with glee as ARENA FELINES got knocked off top spot by FORCE OF FIVE! Up 'n
down. Up 'n down. Rankings always change. Up 'n down. I think I'm gonna be...
Well, FORCE OF FIVE's 1st moved them up to 3-0-0 place. What's with CHERT? He
actually beat JINDA-BAN's DINGIL BILL, and walked away with 15 more points from the
fight. Laughs were big at FORCE OF FIVE while they watched HYPER BOY clobber
GUHULONG. He lost 4 points and got bruised from objects thrown from the stands. See
how the Duelmaster challenged ARENA FELINES' PAWS? That sort of initiative is how he
got where he is now. PAWS was reminded on the sands why DARK TYPHLOSION is
Duelmaster. Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects to practice on? I hear some
team is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners.
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... CLIFFHOME thinks FIRE
DECK and their 23-30-1 is too much! If at first you don't succeed, give up... The
bums at GREYHAWK couldn't face the challenges from FIRE DECK! No excuse for that!
What do people see in PAWS? His 9-4-0? ARENA FELINES ain't talkin', but he's got 86
points.
A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters
don't accept this. The best do. Here's some advice: study your opponent, master
many skills, fight dirty.
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
CLIFFHOME is a nice place to live, but I don't like to live in nice places. Time for
