                             Notes from the arena champ.

Another good attempt, Runna Damill, and perhaps next time you will have the
title for your own, since I am leaving. I salute your doggedness, if nothing else.

                                     Riquettie

P.S. Not a bad set of favorites, but I have received word from "on high" that I may
be fighting in Darkholm after the Split, so I will keep 'em quiet for now. Hasta la
pasta, folks.

                                      SPY REPORT

Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly CLIFFHOME games. Former top team U.A.K. was unseated
this week as JINDA-BAN moved up from 4th ranking to take the top spot with a 3-2-0
record for the round. DAISY BICKLE caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial
commission as she skillfully bested CONVICTED THIEF and was awarded 7 points in
recognition. Although SCROD BOY made a valiant effort, it did not suffice to topple
the reign of victorious RIQUETTIE. Heed this! A seer has warned that if exactly 6
die in duels this week, the whole city shall perish! Just remember...5 or 7!
Many and various are the arts of battle. In CLIFFHOME "art" is a word that has
long since passed from the language!
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers
the miserable with fortune but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember this!
The girls are as pretty in CLIFFHOME as ever I remembered them....and the
fighters as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! More than a sharp eye must I
keep, indeed a stout pair of legs must I keep as well! The endless paths of Alastari
await me! Till we meet again, remember: a turtle walks slow, hides head in a shell,
and harms no one; a lion runs to slay its prey.-- Zontani Sharp Eyes

Amber -- If you were a true jewel of a woman, you'd lose a fight now and then. I do
realize that to lose PROPERLY takes skill and experience, but I have the said skill
and experience and would be glad to teach you this unsung art. Truly. -- Bent
Fender, now a pretzel

Topaz -- (smugly) It takes BALANCE to handle ME. -- Daisy Bickle
P.S. And it doesn't hurt to be half crazy, either.

Vanilla -- (crossly) Remind me to bring chocolate syrup next time. It will help you
go down more smoothly. -- Connie Pakkit

Trix -- Was my face red! -- Carter Pillar

Runna Damill -- Every manager has quirks, which is one of the things that makes this
game tricky. Good luck to you. -- Riquettie, who also has no hidden and fights and
frankly did not expect to graduate

Vanilla -- (sigh) It's what I do. -- Bent Fender

Lady Protector Riquettie -- I know that Word Has Gone Out to make it a public point
to hand out gifts for gladiators for a while, but Prince Dharmorrin is Taking a Firm
Stand, indeed, the firmest I've seen in years, against this practice. He feels, and
I can understand his point, that rewarding people who are leaving never to return is
not a good way to build up the community. Therefore, go with our good wishes, but
nothing more. -- Ilsvain, Arena Steward
