                                      SPY REPORT

It's me, The Unknown Spymaster here with my bag to give you the news on last
week's fights. Hey everybody, watch out for GURU GNU, who flew up 21 points in the
rankings after mashing BENT FENDER like a melon. Keep your eye on this guy. And
falling like a basher in the top ten was LUM BUSBY, who dropped 14 points after a
disappointing (to say the least) bout with LOGOS. In front of all the crowds, REDD
CORVAIT took the Duelmaster's crown for hers own. I give the bum two weeks. Advice
to bashers--never force anything, just get a bigger halberd!
Here is other news that is of note. Well just about everybody wants a piece of
BENT FENDER, who was this week's most challenged warrior.
Being a spy is great--other people die and you spend the rest of the day
drinking to their memory. Better tanked than dead! Ask not the elves for counsel,
for they will say both yes and no. Silly buggers, eh?
Well, that wasn't too bad; Alarond told me that the people in CLIFFHOME have no
sense of humor. Or maybe that they were senseless. Well, there goes another Spy
Report. Good luck in next week's fights. Its been fun, and I'm sure you enjoyed it
(boos). Now that I've got you worked up for Snide Clemens, I'll be leaving-- The
Unknown Spymaster

Runna Damill -- Well, I suppose no one could expect me to defeat a Lord Protector. I
don't mind. I like dancing with tall guys, if they aren't TOO tall. And you're just
right. -- Redd Corvait

Utano -- Oh, gods, not just bent, dinged, dented, and scratched, but totally trashed.
That fender is so wrinkled up, it could be used to scrub clothes, or maybe even grate
cheese. What a bummer. -- Bent Fender

I don't know what the HECK that Veteran Mercenary was thinking, but I don't like it
ONE BIT. He says that "as a forfeit," I can run some supplies into a war zone for
him. I didn't know we had any active war zones around here, and if it isn't around
here, I'm not going! -- Kartikaya

What's the deal with having a dwarf stand in for the standby Osksi Noble? I'd think
a dwarf could get better work. Or maybe this is the guy that was making all those
swords that kept BREAKING last year. Huh, maybe I should go find him and hit him
AGAIN. -- Lum Busby

This Persistent Beggar is truly pathetic, but then, we all knew that. He knew that.
The arena staff knew it. What's the deal here? -- Jitney Johnny

We're trying to discourage begging in the streets. -- Ilsvain, Arena Steward

We salute those who participated in the tourney. -- Jorja and Jinda-Ban

Kartikaya -- Didn't we meet last time I was here? We will probably be around for
about 5 turns total, so you might have another shot at me if you want it. -- Guru Gnu

Johnny -- Well that worked out nicely. The Monk and I have extremely limited tourney
experience, so it is really only the Gnu you have to look out for on that score.
Still, it seems it was enough. Certainly this fight went better than that extremely
brief tourney. -- Logos

Utano -- Figures. I'm the only one close to your age that's still here, so of course
you ask me for a date. And because you're the only one close to my age that's still
here, I accepted. But I don't think this is going to be the start of a "beautiful
relationship," you know? -- Redd Corvait

Torchlight Kid -- Burnt paint. Well, scorched, at least. Just what I needed. --
Bent Fender

Guru Gnu -- Is there some hidden significance to the fact that you're a lefty? I
mean, is it SINISTER? -- Kartikaya

The Ambitious Guard? Huh. If he was really ambitious, he'd leave town, go looking
for the bright lights and the action, you know? -- Lum Busby

Logos -- I see you there listed as a dwarf, and on you it looks good. But I FINALLY
got the Commission to admit that *I* am NOT a dwarf. I had to shave off my mustache
to do it, though. Bummer, it was a good mustache. -- Jitney Johnny

                                  LAST WEEK'S FIGHTS

                                  Daydream Believer

You once thought of me,
As a white knight on a steed.
Now you know how happy I can be...

It's true. I'm gone. I've punched my ticket to Immortality and I'm off to the Isle.
I know a lot of you are wondering what it is about me that has made me so successful.
I wish I knew for sure. I think it has more to do with intangibles (knack) than it
does with design, bonuses and favorites. I'll let you decide.

Daydream Believer (PR) 17-14-4-17-7-8-17 Poor Endurance--Good Damage
I -- 8 (+1) R -- 13 A -- 14 (+4) P -- 14 (+4) Df - 8 Dc - 6 (+3)

I know what you're thinking, "WTF, that guy looks like a 98 lb weakling!" Sigh...I
prefer to think my physical characteristics are ideally suited for a finesse style.
As for my bases, I know they aren't much to look at. After all, I am a PR. I'm
fortunate to be blessed where I need it the most--attack and parry.

Okay, so I've got nice bases with bonuses in the right spots. What about favorites?
Did I know them in advance or did I change them? The answer is no, I had no idea
what they were for sure until I recieved my graduation announcement. I would be
happy to tell you what my favorites are but I don't think my clone, Jumpinjack Flash,
would be very happy with me if I did. Let's just say that from the moment I stepped
on the sands as a Rookie I used the same strategy in EVERY fight. The only thing I
ever changed was armor (early on vs. TP's) and attack/defend locations. That should
give those of you who have faced me more than once something to think about.

You may be interested to know that I am all natural. I haven't had a prize of any
type used on me. I'm a freak of nature. It just goes to show you never know when a
guy like me will walk into your guildhouse looking for work as a gladiator. It's up
to you to spot the potential and nuture it along.

I'm going to list my tourney results and records versus each style. It isn't meant
to be a brag--I just thought you might find it interesting and a lot easier than
looking it up yourself. Enjoy!

As you can see, the only style I had trouble with is the ABs. I think that has more
to do with which ABs I fought rather than the style as a whole. I was 3-1 vs ABs
early on (Rookies-Champs) and 4-10 in Challengers. I was 1-5 vs Marv, 0-1 vs Marv Jr
and 0-3 vs Soulsnare. I am going to make an educated guess and assume they all had
skills or prizes added to them to make them competetive at the Challenger level where
so few ABs are. I could be wrong, though I doubt it.
