DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
I must apologize for the missed column last turn. Sometimes the various
obligations of bring Duelmaster, a Guru, A Gnu, and being on a hill/cliff top simply
takes a lot of time. There is nothing terribly profound about it, just a full
schedule.
I must also note that this will be my last turn defending my title. I shall not
be fighting past this next turn as this should place me nicely right at 30 FE, which
sets me up for a run at the champs division in the fall mail-in. No, not the FTF,
since Nomad can not attend that tournament he wishes to enter me when I will not be
at a disadvantage. I must admit I appreciate that. Will Logos and Scarlet Monk
stick around? Possibly, but probably not.
Now, Bent Fender, it seems I must thank you for allowing me to successfully
defend my throne--and do it in small words. Don't sell yourself short. With almost
70 losses it could be easy to get down on yourself and lose hope. But don't let that
happen. You have, after all, proven superior to 8 foes already! The game of Duel is
90% mental--you must believe that you can win! So have faith and go out and beat
someone else!

Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day,
I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again! TEAM TRIANGLE posted a nice gain, to come in
4th. Everybody loves a winner... TEAM TRIANGLE had cause to celebrate, after
CHARGIN' CHARLIE got 19 points by beating LOGOS. A certain someone should cut down
on the drinking and practice more, after losing 7 points to SIEMIENKIEWEZ. (Discrete
enough, JITNEY JOHNNY?) Well, Duelmaster GURU GNU challenged U.A.K.'s TORCHLIGHT KID.
Is a 8-1-0 good enough? TORCHLIGHT KID found out that CLIFFHOME isn't a democracy.
You've gotta be the best to be Duelmaster here! Word has it one team in CLIFFHOME is
using psychics to predict wins. They lead a charmed life!
My mother wished me to avoid conflict, and seek the gentle trade of Spyreporter.
But warriors aren't supposed to avoid fights! Perhaps the warriors of U.A.K. should
take up some hobbies, as they are the most avoided team... Like a pup with its tail
between its legs, TEAM TRIANGLE scurried away from U.A.K.. Oh, the shame! If
challenges were horses, BENT FENDER could open up a fast food joint! Willing to win
at any cost is PLATINUM BLONDE, who challenged KARTIKAYA, 13 points junior. Our
sympathies, KARTIKAYA! I thought PLATINUM BLONDE showed great skill and promise when
she beat KARTIKAYA. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Is there life after death? Pragmatics (and warriors) know there is death after
life! More than one waitress at The Choking Ogre was spilling more drinks than usual
last week, as LOGOS' early demise became known. What will HILLTOP GURUS do??? Oh
hard! that to strike a flame, the match itself must needs be wasting!
Do not think spyreporting in CLIFFHOME is the highlight of my life. More
