Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. DESSLOCK CAIN caught the eye of many
in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested PEKING DUCK and was awarded 22
points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, DESSLOCK CAIN put
down PEKING DUCK, causing him to lose 15 points of recognition in the process. This
time victory fell to the grasp of the usurper. All hail DUCK A L'ORANGE, Duelmaster
of XOCHITHLAN! No confirmation, but my sources claim that the top team has gained
their position using magical aids. Charmed weapons perhaps?
Many and various are the arts of battle. In XOCHITHLAN "art" is a word that has
long since passed from the language! Loose talk at the arena has reached my ears and
it but confirms the knowledge that many fighters are after SYLAH VENTRESS. Watch
your back!
What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his
foe's mortality? Dark alleys may hide both secrets and assassins. In the arena
there is only the brightness of steel. Keep vigil always!
If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times
already in XOCHITHLAN. Nice atmosphere you have here! More than a sharp eye must I
keep, indeed a stout pair of legs must I keep as well! The endless paths of Alastari

Lobo -- re your questions:
1. Well... possibly--not certainly--the weapon that gets the "terrific blow" is the
warrior's favorite. But if he wins more easily with the other one, go with the other
one.
2. Do longer fights teach more skills? No, not that I've ever seen.
3. So far as I personally know, there is no list of what each skill does for each
fighter. Doesn't mean there isn't such a list, but I don't know about it, if so.
The closest I can come to it is that I've been told that warriors who make flailing
attacks need more attack skills. I think it's POSSIBLE that the "leaping into the
air" MIGHT be a style-specific action, but I don't know for sure, not having paid
close enough attention. I am fairly sure that the attacks and other actions that get
fancy statements (including leaping into the air) TEND to become more frequent as a
warrior's experience increases.
I know this isn't particularly helpful, but it's what I've got on the top of my head
(along with hair). I hope some of the more number-crunchy managers will respond. --

as the saying goes, but... then you burned out and I got you. My best guess is that
the critical factor in that fight was that I can take a lot of damage. Would your
endurance happen to be low? Because you were burning energy like there was no
tomorrow, and if the arenamaster hadn't stepped in, there might not have been. --

suggests that more experienced warriors often teach more skills. Not always, but
often.
