DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
It pays to hit hard. I'm not extremely smart or fast or tough, but I can hit
hard, and I guess that's good enough to rock the Duelmaster title.
My manager still raises his eyebrows every time I win. I was supposed to be the
warrior with the least potential and, subsequently, the one whose standards were the
lowest among the original group of Wolves. My fellow Wolf, Artadi, was *supposed* to
be the poster child for the team, with Ventress a close second. Morgana and I were
the throwaways. Funny how things turned out, huh? She and I are now responsible for
60% of all Steel Wolves 2 wins!
Anyway, it's cool to be Duelmaster. The first Duelmaster ever managed by Lobo,
as a matter of fact. So even though I might not be his favorite, just the fact that
I'm the first (and you never forget your first!) should be enough to keep me a
special place in his heart. You veterans should know what I'm talking about.
There's always a fond warmth when you recall your first warrior to make Duelmaster.
And to the Roughriders, my pinochle, scrabble, chess, and D2 arch-nemesis, you'll get
there (here's looking at you, Mahovlich) in time.
I'm off to defend, so I'll wrap this up. I wonder who I'm going to scrap with?
A duck, perhaps Peking Duck (I've already done this once, so hopefully yeah...); a
Middle Way stalwart, the fab Bethina Chim (who Chimmed me once. See that loss on my
record?), or maybe some standby...
They're calling my name. Guess we'll find out.

If you were disturbed from your beauty rest only to have to watch a bunch of
XOCHITHLAN brutes like you, you'd be grouchy, too. And it's out with the old, in
with the new, as PEKING DUCK takes the Title and last week's bar tab from the old
Duelmaster. Heh, heh. The Warty Toad, humph! I've tasted better ale at mortuaries.
Where do they get this stuff? From XOCHITHLAN's trash dumps?
Well, let's take a look at some more misdeeds of you miserable sword-boys.
DUCKS UNLIMITED, I suppose you'll be glad to know you were this turn's most avoided
team. Care to know who is the most afraid of you? And who led the way in this mass
act of cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was STEEL WOLVES 2. Ha ha ha
ha! Ooh, I'm frightfully impressed, ULRIK VENN was this turn's most challenged
warrior. Watch that ego swell, sports fans. I guess I can give a little credit to
MAHOVLICH of THE ROUGHRIDERS for challenging up by 18 to MORGANA BLACK. MAHOVLICH
won to get 54 points of recognition.
Some people like volunteer work in the hospitals. I volunteer for XOCHITHLAN's
morgue. More variety. Titanium shields and bamboo daggers, guess what brave team is
developing these kinds of weapons?
What does the XOCHITHLAN arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Just wait 'till next time I show
up here, I won't be so nice! So nyaaah! Glad to see the back of this place-- Snide
