                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

HA HA! Venomous Concubine! That was a good one. I'll have to try and hire one
myself to augment my act! I'm now a permanent Challenger Champion here in Rodeki, so
it'll just be a matter of time before the commission is forced to pull me to ADM!
Gotta run, time is short right now!

Bozo

                                      SPY REPORT

Much has changed in RODEKI since last I was here. Never fear, Olaf Modeen
adapts to many situations, as do all successful fighters. Biff! Pow! RODEKI
watched with glee as DELVERS got knocked off top spot by COLOR ME SUAVE! What's with
FRANKENBUTT? He actually beat DELVERS' THE MOLE, and walked away with 19 more points
from the fight. Major screwup at DELVERS. HANDSOME IS lost 13 points to BLAZING
BLUR. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe HANDSOME IS will provide more easy
wins... CRIX BREMOORE was reminded on the sands why BOZO is Duelmaster. Advice to
fighters with a 1 will--give up fighting!
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... The most avoided team
was COLOR ME SUAVE. The bums at FLAGG'S FIVE couldn't face the challenges from COLOR
ME SUAVE! No excuse for that! How well I know the feeling of being the most
challenged warrior, SUSHEE SU! Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to haunt
you. SUSHEE SU didn't quite know what to make of a challenge she received from
MASUMII of FLAGG'S FIVE, who is 18 points below her. MASUMII perhaps got his just
desserts, seeing as he beat SUSHEE SU and ended up with 79 recognition points. I
hate going to the effort of writing about the kind of fights that RONALD MCDONALD
gets in. He fights people like JOHN ROSE, 9 points below. I thought RONALD MCDONALD
showed great skill and promise when he beat JOHN ROSE. All right, so I slept through
it! Big deal!
Warriors of RODEKI unite. You have only your games to lose! Here's some
advice: study your opponent, master many skills, fight dirty.
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
RODEKI is a nice place to live, but I don't like to live in nice places. Time for my
medication, so I'll leave now. Practice, practice, practice!-- Olaf Modeen

Ronald McDonald -- I just had the thought: when you're famous as a gladiator and
tourney victor, you can do endorsements for your...well, for whatever you want. You
won't have to HIRE anybody to, um, sign your shoes or anything. It can be an asset
to your non-gladiatorial business, you see? -- John Rose

Crix Bremoore -- Hah! You SAY you're Ratani, but I know what THAT means! You're a
closet Aruaki, and you could turn into a CAT at any moment! You're SNEAKY, that's
what YOU are. -- Sushee Su, the not-fooled

Rima Adler -- It's because I'm a Dwarf, isn't it? You Orcs have always hated us. We
get the best tunnels, dig the best mines, stuff like that, and you're JEALOUS. -- The
Mole
P.S. And when we have wars between Dwarves and Orcs, WE win them. Not YOU.

Delores -- (smugly) Women just can't resist me. You couldn't keep your hands off my
body, could you? It's a secret weapon. -- Handsome Is

Handsome Is -- You're just a pretty face. -- Handsome Does

Red -- As you see, I don't just LOOK good, I DO good. In this case, by winning
briskly. -- Handsome Does

Bozo -- Right! The very best of fish. I know! We'll have...swordfish! What could
be more appropriate? And afterward, you could come up to my apartment and see my
knives. -- Sushee Su

Ronnie McD -- Better a TV challenge than a TV dinner. -- John Rose

John Rose -- Assur says he's gonna make me abuse you all the way to 20-0, if

possible. I really didn't sign up for this, but Assur's making me do it! My
apologies. I just want to be a clown, but Assur says I have to be a fighter and he's
the boss! -- R. McDonald

Blazing Blur -- You looked pretty slow out there to me! -- Red S.

All you alliance-type people, I'm trying (again!) to get my alliance listing correct
and up to date. Either send me a diplo (address it to The Saint) or send your
updates to me directly at Sue at solberg-mathews.com. As you may guess, replace the
at with @ and you're good to go (I do hate spammy mail and this will end up on the
web).

I have information on the following alliances: ADIO, Allied Axis, Armada,
Brotherhood of Justice, Brotherhood of the Blade, Cadre, CDC, Chaos, Inc., Circle of
Order, Company of Brothers, Consortium, Council of Lords, Couple Good Guys, Crimson
Vengeance, DOA, DOOMcorps, Enigmafia, Eurosquad, Fascist Federation, FONZ,
Frothingslosh Syndicate, GAPPDA, Homeland Alliance, IT Alliance, Jingoists, kLk,
Knights of the Covenant, LBA, League Arcane, Legion6, Living Essences, Lords and
Ladies of Darkness, Manic Union, Midnight Foundation, Minions of Diana, Monarchs of
Montezuma, NCA, NIMROD, R.A.G.E., Seventh Sons, The Firm, The French Connection,
Vendett@ United, and the Vendetta Cartel.

If you are a member of one of these alliances, let me know. If you are a member of
some other alliance that isn't listed, let me know. If you were at any point in your
past a part of one of these alliance but are now independent, also let me know.
Going inactive doesn't mean you get removed from this list; people are assumed to
still be in the same alliance when they return. Even having everyone in an alliance
go inactive doesn't change anything. If an alliance is officially disbanding, that's
another thing you have to let me know....

The Saint, keeper of lists

P.S. If you already responded to my online plea (and I replied), you can ignore
this.

Hammer 500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups
                                  Hosted by Hammer

Niytyole Island DM 33 has dwindled to the point where as of T-482 [duedate
November 3, 2004] there were only 2 active stables listed with 3 inactive stables in
a once thriving and lively regular arena.
During the past 40+ cycles Hammer has been hosting the Hammer Run for the Roll
Ups in DM 33.
Thus far only the Ripper and Slasher categories have produced winners to claim
the 5 New Team Roll Ups Prize for being the first declared Style Master of their
respective categories to graduate.
Every contending stable has gone inactive for one reason or another, including
CASINO HAMMERZ, over the past several months.
Now DM 33 faces the harsh reality that if RSI chooses to close any arenas due to
little or no interest, Niytyole Island could very well head the list of endangered
regular arenas!
In an effort to preserve his beloved island, Hammer is announcing the
continuation of the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups; combined with the Hammer 500 which
will conclude both contests on T-500 [duedate July 13, 2005] should DM 33 continue to
remain open in the coming months.
     Attention Hammer Runners!
The Hammer Run is for 0 FE Basic Arena Warriors ONLY. Participants MUST Be
Declared in the P-ads On or Before their First DM 33 Basic Arena Fight to Qualify as
a Hammer Runner! Winners of Each Category will receive 5 New Team Roll Up Gift
Certificates mailed from RSI courtesy of Hammer! [On the condition that they
Graduate on or before T-500; see amended rules below!]
The following Style Master categories remain open with a listing of how many
declared contestants are still entered and their W/L recognition record at the time
of their disappearance from the Hammer Run competition:

The purpose of this contest is to restore DM 33 to a lively and entertaining

Island from deletion if RSI and the Gladiatorial Commission decide that more arenas
need to be closed due to lack of participation and interest.
Should this effort fail to spare DM 33 from deletion, then Hammer is prepared to
transfer CASINO HAMMERZ to another arena if Niytyole Island is closed by RSI and the
