                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

My dear Ms. Kabuki, there is no reason for you to be downcast or grudging over
your loss. The reason is not far to seek: I am better at this than you are. And no
wonder to it, as we orcs are specially adept at the physical side of life.

                                  Celie Shatterstone

P.S. Great axe? Is this a joke? And...moderate/very low? That has GOT to be a
joke, I've been running ten-ten and doing fine with it.

                                      SPY REPORT

I was going on vacation, see? Surf, sun... But what do those bums say? "Hit
the road, Debby Tonte. RODEKI needs a spyreport." Oh, well. MVP award for
SUCKFOOT? COLOR ME SUAVE's proud of him after beating DANGEROUS CRIMINAL and getting
23 points. This Duelmaster is like something else! CELIE SHATTERSTONE stopped WINKY
DINK dead in his tracks! Who was the wiseguy that said RODEKI's Duelmaster was
paying for drinks at The Welcome Wench? Don't look at me!
Look, you guys stick to fighting, all right? ELEMENTS OF ZEN was RODEKI's most
avoided team. Is there some award for that? Hhmph! What kind of warriors are BASH
BROS. TOURIST? ELEMENTS OF ZEN, an easy team to beat if I ever saw one, can't get
them to accept an invitation! Some fights are really unfair. How do you think
ASBENTA feels about being challenged by MATCHING SHIRTS, 17 points above her? If
MATCHING SHIRTS can't beat a warrior 17 points below himself, that he CHALLENGED, he
oughtta be selling food in the stands! HISTORICAL LANDMARKS must not be a good
enough fighter to get in fair fights. He challenged JADE TIGER. 9 is a big
difference. (Well, that's what they tell me.) I thought HISTORICAL LANDMARKS showed
great skill and promise when he was overcame by JADE TIGER. All right, so I slept
through it! Big deal!
Man, all these warriors dying and killing each other! Don't you guys ever give
it a break? Fight, fight, fight. Is that all you guys can do?
I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be
a famous Spyreporter? I know how much you like reading this stuff, but I really
should stop. Its been really albendranius! Later, guys-- Debby Tonte

Winky Dink -- I do not comprehend the meaning of "winky dink." Celie tells me that
there may be some "secret inner knowledge" known only to dwarves implied, but I am
not a dwarf and I do not do "secret inner knowledge." I am a mining golem impressed
into arena work every fortnight. The only "secret inner knowledge" of consequence to
me is "does this body of rock contain valuable minerals, to the extent that they
would be worth extracting." The programming for this is sufficiently complex to use
up all available program volume, and I must decline to ponder on the possible "secret
inner meaning" of "winky dink" to dwarves. I wish you well of it, however. I am not
programmed for hostility, even to dwarves. -- Rocksock
P.S. According to the records at the guildhouse, you were once a Fratsfan. I find
this confusing. You do not look like a Fratsfan, in so far as I can judge this based
on the descriptive data entered into my banks. And I have been told that humans do
not change race, any more than golems do. Possibly less. But you make a much more
plausible dwarf than you ever did a Fratsfan, so I commend you for this alteration,
if it is something for which commendation is appropriate.

Matching Shirts -- Matching what? Did you realize that you're color-blind? --
Asbenta
P.S. I hate it when my weapon tests its strength and struggles for supremacy,
especially when it loses. But you'd think a GOOD weapon would consult with me first
before launching into a struggle like that, wouldn't you? Of course, yours was just
as bad.

I want that Fratsfa Slave DEAD. He is UNSPEAKABLY uppity, and too TALL. He LOOMS.
I loathe and despise him. -- Christellina
P.S. Also, he is SUPPOSED to lose the fight, and he FAILED.

Suckfoot -- You mean, like flies who can walk on the ceiling? How cool! How do you
do it? Is it something you can teach, or maybe special shoes? Walking on the
ceiling, especially when my teammates are at breakfast, would be SOOO COOL! --
Dacimousel
P.S. Oh, wait, it says here that I'm highly charismatic and cool and shouldn't make
such a big deal of your art. Huh, what does the Commission know? It IS a big deal,
and I want to learn it!

Lady Protector Celie Shatterstone -- If we buy all your tickets, will you leave
without shattering any more of the stones that are holding up the stands? We
understand that some of the fans can be very...annoying, but they are not the only
ones who suffer if you shatter the piers, buttresses, seats, walls, ceiling arches,
and other architectural stone devices. Just ignore them and depart. Please? --
Torba Val, Arena Manager
