It is I, Novgorodny Vir, Spymaster of Spymasters. Look on my work, ye mighty,
and despair! Good things come to those who fight well, as DELVERS can attest, moving
up by 0. A certain someone should cut down on the drinking and practice more, after
losing 12 points to DAMON SHOVELL. (Discrete enough, COMB?) Now I can't insult
FAROMAN, as he has gloriously dueled to the top. Oh great new Duelmaster!!! (Stop
me if I lay it on too thick) So who's the team that's been walking into taverns last
week and ordering milk? Sounds like a PR stunt to me.
So much to report, so little time! If challenges were horses, ROCKHOG JR could
open up a fast food joint! HARD KNOCKS challenged EACHAM! Who says COLOR ME SUAVE
are just a bunch of wimps! HARD KNOCKS of COLOR ME SUAVE kept hers wits as she was
subdued by EACHAM. Willing to win at any cost is BUB MCSCRUBBS, who challenged
ROCKHOG JR, 9 points junior. Our sympathies, ROCKHOG JR! I thought BUB MCSCRUBBS
showed great skill and promise when he was dealt death by ROCKHOG JR. All right, so
I slept through it! Big deal!
Is there life after death? Pragmatics (and warriors) know there is death after
life! Alas, poor BUB MCSCRUBBS. We all know COLOR ME SUAVE's retirement plan isn't
the best in the world. ROCKHOG JR, may you be as missed when your time comes. Ask
not for whom the sword slashes; it slashes for thee.
All good things must come to an end. As if buffeted by forces of nature beyond
my control, I must take my leave of this place. Do not despair! I shall return!--

WINTER FACE-TO-FACE IN SUNNY ARIZONA!
Our next winter FTF will be held in Tempe, Arizona, January 14-16, 2011. It will be
held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Arizona (480-894-7444), the same hotel as
last year by popular request. Room rates are $129.00 per night, 1-2 occupancy, which
includes full cooked breakfast, complimentary manager's reception (yes, really!), free
airport shuttle, free parking and free high speed internet. There's a fitness center,
jacuzzi, and pool. The rooms are blocked--please make your reservation by December 22
before the block is released! (This is prime season for Phoenix, and people have been
unable to book rooms because they waited too long.) Look for the tournament info
sheet and minioverviews some time in December. We hope you're all looking forward to
it and that we will see you there!
