                                      SPY REPORT

Well, what are you looking at, ARDIVENT? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Now let's all watch RUBY DRAGONS' heads
swell from their 3-0-0 this turn. Haa ha ha ha! Big shots, big talk, big deal. Of
course, we're all terribly impressed to see VIRGIL POODINSKI win a fight and gain 21
points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, REAGAN beat VALLEY-JO and VALLEY-JO lost 15 points.
You're breakin' my heart. And it's out with the old, in with the new, as FLOYD B.
RICK takes the Title and last week's bar tab from the old Duelmaster. Heh, heh. The
Victory Tavern, humph! I've tasted better ale at mortuaries. Where do they get this
stuff? From ARDIVENT's trash dumps?
Well, let's take a look at some more misdeeds of you miserable sword-boys.
Some people like volunteer work in the hospitals. I volunteer for ARDIVENT's
morgue. More variety. Titanium shields and bamboo daggers, guess what brave team is
developing these kinds of weapons?
What does the ARDIVENT arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Phlllt! Just had to do that
before I leave the fine city of ARDIVENT. I feel much better now. I see the crowds
are getting restless, I must leave now-- Snide Clemens

Virgil Poodinski -- Don't feel too badly about that loss. Many have a loss and worse
in the... Flint Hills
P.S. Very hard country, you see. Lots of hostile residents, human and otherwise.

Give it a miss if you can, and if not, make sure you have good friends--steady and
true--to watch your back in case it (your back) does something interesting like
sprouting arrows.

Khorne Shadowspawn -- So, tell me, did your manager hate you, and deliberately set
out to give you a name that sounds, well, more than a little silly, or did you pick
it yourself? -- Valley Jo, idly curious
P.S. That was not, by the way, an invitation to join me at the bath. I don't bathe
with those who are "spawned," especially not if said spawning takes place in the
shadows. Sounds like a nasty business all around.

Talon -- What a great teacher you are! My thanks. -- Bernina Collin
P.S. I'm rather fond of Floyd myself.

Palantiriathalasa -- (smothering giggles) That is SUCH a mouthful! Did you really
get named that by your mom when you were born? I just can't imagine it. Did she
only call you by the whole name when she was really, really mad, and mostly yell,
what, Paula? I mean, I wonder about things like that, you know? -- Debra Collin

Big Dave Diode -- Speaking as one golem to another, do you find the heavy glass
construction works? I can see it's not like some easily shattered glass lampshade,
but still, don't you worry when you step out onto the sands? -- a Gneiss Guy, but a
curious one today

Eclipse -- Okay, but be warned that I know LOTS of hot chicks who'd be glad to
distract you! -- Valley-Jo
P.S. Hey, there's worse things could happen than that!

17 July 2004
I am currently trying to put together a favorites chart for AD warriors. I
desperately need help with this. What I need are style, favorite rhythm (ex.:
hi/low), favorite weapons, and tactics. What would be great is if you could send me
a copy of the invite with the warrior's name, id#, and arena blacked out. This way,
I can verify that this is an actual warrior. Minis will work, too!

For those interested, I have both a challenge style vs. style and a match-up style
vs. style chart. There's about 250 fights calculated in these charts, and I'll be
happy to send a copy to anyone who asks. You can contact me (if you're a free world
player) at: Rick Stringer, Merit/East, SCI, P.O. Box 500, Georgetown, DE 19947-0500.
If you're in prison, just send a diplo to: Baphomet, Mgr. Knights Templar (568), DM
#47--North Fork. (I also have a lot of other charts and info for anyone who wants
it.) Thanks!

30 July 2004
The total number of fights calculated was reported as 250 fights. This is a
misprint. It should have read "over 2,500 fights." -- Baphomet

Room rates include a full cooked-to-order breakfast and a complimentary two-hour
manager's reception. There is a free shuttle to the airport, as well as free parking.
The hotel is located down the freeway in Tempe. All rooms have high speed internet

The tournament information sheet/strategy sheet should be out sometime in late
November/early December.
If you haven't been to a Face-to-Face before, you're overdue. If you have,
you'll be back. Don't miss this one, it'll be a blast! See you there!
