                             Notes from the arena champ.

     Ooh, Black Betty, bam balamb!
About time, ya overloaded brick! I ain't the most civilized chick, so deal with
it.
My stats if you care, 12(1)/16/9/17(1)/15(1)/9(1)/11(1), they say I like the
broadsword.
Snorky was a wuss and skipped telling everyone his goodies, but you can have em
anyway:
     12/10/12/17/17/5/11, He likes the morningstar.

Anyway, I'm outta this hick town, catch ya somewhere else!

Betty

                                      SPY REPORT

Greetings, warriors of ARDIVENT! Once again I've been called out of retirement
for my abilities and insights into Spyreporting. What's with ELMER? He actually
beat ARDIVENT's TRUSTWORTHY SCRIBE, and walked away with 20 more points from the
fight. Major screwup at WOE TO WHITECHAPEL. SHANTQUITMINIFE lost 14 points to
YVONNE. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe SHANTQUITMINIFE will provide more easy
wins... ARDIVENT has a Duelmaster who doesn't sit back and get lazy. She Dark Arena
Challenged DARK ARENA's SHEWISH GIANT (0-0-0), which should prove (ahem!)
interesting. Try as he might, SHEWISH GIANT wasn't good enough at persuading BETTY
to step down from the Duelmaster's throne... Wouldn't it be nice to have live
subjects to practice on? I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted
prisoners.
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports. The
most avoided team was SERPENT'S HOLD. Management must be dealin', as the boys at
FANDILS ain't reelin'! SERPENT'S HOLD's mad! How well I know the feeling of being
the most challenged warrior, KATERINA COLLIN! Don't make idle boasts, they may come
back to haunt you. EARL of FANDILS knows how to pick 'em. He challenged OLIVER of
DEATHTONGUE who is up by 19. Now was this a wise move? EARL perhaps got his just
desserts, seeing as he bested OLIVER and ended up with 94 recognition points.
A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters
don't accept this. The best do. Hmm... More surprises must remain in store for me,
if BETTY can return from the Dark Arena. Here's some advice: study your opponent,
master many skills, fight dirty.
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
ARDIVENT is a nice place to live, but I don't like to live in nice places.
Remember--a good fighter needs both good skills and good luck. Until next time,--
Olaf Modeen

Ugh! The good news and the bad news.... The bad news 1st-- went 1-4 and lost the
DMship; the good news-- finished 3rd in Team On The Move standings with -23 points
(wink), everyone lived despite The Red Sands, don't have to write a DM Column
(tongue-in-cheek) and barely held on to The Top Career Team. What a round! Ugh! --
Fandil The Wise

Betty -- this time you did it and you clearly deserved the DM Title. -- Brother
Jerome
P.S. All of us Fandils say "Good luck in The Big Time."

Rosebud -- You were too much weed for me. Salute. -- Earl

Katerina -- Thanks for being our Fandil only win. I was so lucky. -- Mildred Leona

Ruthless Jaywalker this time?!? The 2nd NPC I have lost to? I suppose everyone is
challenging me? -- Yvonne (sobbing uncontrollably)

I hate all Serpents and the manager they rode in on! I hope Prohibition hits you
again, Khisanth! -- W.D.Purdy

Now, now, W.D. There is no reason to call out a fine manager. Remember -- Health.
Humility. Honor. -- WOF

Sending them now, before I forget again. It's a bitch getting old. -- Technogeek

Earl -- Oh, man, that had to sting a little. -- Rosebud

Bingo -- I assure you I am quite surprised about that. -- Oliver

Serpentito -- Enough already, fight someone else! -- Fran

Keelback -- Damn, I did not need that. Turns out I'm seriously allergic to
snakebite. Damn. -- Ghost of Tongan Burke

Coral -- Pretty and dangerous, why am I not surprised? -- Mollie Scot

Oliver -- I really think I should tie your tongue in a knot, what? I mean, I can
tell you're one of those brainy chaps, and it seems to me that all the trouble in the
world is made by brainy chaps. Them, and aunts. -- Bingo Little

Mildred Leona -- Well, that wraps up a fun day. -- Katerina Collin
P.S. I have this feeling we should have a fifth member on this team, but I couldn't
find anyone when I checked the closets and under the bed.

Our congratulations to Betty. -- Jorja and the remaining Bluvalley Warriors

                        WINTER FACE-TO-FACE IN SUNNY ARIZONA!

Our next winter FTF will be held in Tempe, Arizona, January 14-16, 2011. It will be
held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Arizona (480-894-7444), the same hotel as
last year by popular request. Room rates are $129.00 per night, 1-2 occupancy, which
includes full cooked breakfast, complimentary manager's reception (yes, really!), free
airport shuttle, free parking and free high speed internet. There's a fitness center,
jacuzzi, and pool. The rooms are blocked--please make your reservation by December 22
before the block is released! (This is prime season for Phoenix, and people have been
unable to book rooms because they waited too long.) Look for the tournament info
sheet and minioverviews some time in December. We hope you're all looking forward to
it and that we will see you there!
