One more win up here at 5pps and I am HOME. Five pps, 5pps, 5pps.... Monsignor Mark SPY REPORT Well, what are you looking at, ARDIVENT? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Later days, FANDILS, since BLUVALLEY WARRIORS took top team from you this turn, you guys are old news. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see SHELLEY ANN win a fight and gain 20 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, SHELLEY ANN beat LILA DEANE and LILA DEANE lost 14 points. You're breakin' my heart. And if variety is the spice of life, ARDIVENT may be getting bland, as MONSIGNOR MARK stays top dog in the city. I'm not in a very good mood today, but why am I telling you this? You want to know what's new, don't you, ARDIVENT? My mother always told me, 'If you don't have anything nice to say, start talking.' I loved that woman. What's the big D? BLUVALLEY WARRIORS was the most avoided team? Bunch of lily livered... grumble... mumble... curse... And it looks like FANDILS avoided them the most this turn. What a pack of would be losers, if you ask me. Hmph. Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and gone, and get to see if their team cared. Titanium shields and bamboo daggers, guess what brave team is developing these kinds of weapons? There's got to be a better place in ARDIVENT to get a drink than The Victory Tavern! Any suggestions? Just wait 'till next time I show up here, I won't be so nice! So nyaaah! I see the crowds are getting restless, I must leave now-- Snide Clemens DUELMASTER W L K POINTS TEAM NAME MONSIGNOR MARK 4215 21 9 0 116 FANDILS (75) CHAMPIONS W L K POINTS TEAM NAME SHELLEY ANN 4234 5 6 1 86 FANDILS (75) LONG BIGGAR 4228 13 10 0 79 BLUVALLEY WARRIORS (74) MARCI FOOTE 4202 16 21 1 78 BLUVALLEY WARRIORS (74) LILA DEANE 4201 14 23 0 76 BLUVALLEY WARRIORS (74) CHALLENGER INITIATES W L K POINTS TEAM NAME CORBIN ROSS 4250 3 3 0 28 BLUVALLEY WARRIORS (74) JOUBERT KLEE 4249 5 1 0 25 BLUVALLEY WARRIORS (74) INITIATES W L K POINTS TEAM NAME CLARA ROSE 4256 3 1 1 23 FANDILS (75) IRVIN 4257 3 1 0 14 FANDILS (75) SNUFFY 4263 0 3 0 3 FANDILS (75) '-' denotes a warrior who did not fight this turn. The Red Sands await. -- Fandil The Wise Snuffy -- I tried not to be too hard on you, what with you being such a little guy, but dueling is a dangerous business. No two ways about it. I'm sure you'll get, ah, re-oriented in good time. -- Joubert Klee Monsignor Mark -- Really, it seems so unfair to remove yourself from the population of "available males." Still if you gotta, well... there it is. -- Marci Foote Shelley Ann -- Don't go getting above yourself, girl. -- Lila Deane Damned hairy little runt. -- Long Biggar Irvin -- And there you see the difference between a dog and a cat. Human invaders, the Delarquans, burned their forests, sparking a war of elven annihilation. The elders told tales that when the Delarquans marched to war against the elves, the land itself bled as they passed. Since the war, the elves have dwindled with every passing year, while the humans multiply like rodents across the land of Alastari. Now, the Delarquans have disappeared. Some say they departed, others indicate it.s a ruse, but there have been whispered rumors of another greater threat looming in the region. Khyron of the Shagornan Elves has been tasked to determine the cause, realizing that failure is probable and at the end of the road death could be the only reward. Khyron has known only the safety of the caves, but now he must journey to the world above...the World with No Ceiling. Throughout the years, many fine writers have played Duelmasters/Duel II and have contributed greatly to the history and background of the world of Alastari. One very intense period, during the early '90's, was during the Rocanis War, when authors from both the Delarquan and Free Blades arenas collaborated on writing the history of the invasion of the arena-city of Rocanis. Mark Manley (aka Grimwood) is a long-time manager in Rocanis, and was one of the writers who contributed so much to this history. Over the subsequent years, he has worked to bring his novelization to life and make the story of the War and the preceding events which led to it available to the greater public. Many Rocanis legends appear in the book: Itoz Trollbane, Sandstorm, and others. The novel is a treat to read--even more so if you are familiar with the game!
