DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
I have so little of value to say. I guess that makes me a piddly Duelmistress,
eh? We gals like to talk sometimes, but for some of us, bragging is really hard.
I would like to wish my teammates Leroy and Irvin good luck in Orlando. Sadly,
Leroy will probably do himself proud, but Swirvin needs a lot more "moves" for that
deadly Challenger class. But, I suspect Fandil is sending him to help with the
graduation.
I do have a brief story to tell, and fortunately it is about my namesake, Clara
Rose Hodes, the eight-year-old grandaughter of The Boss.
The granddaughter went to visit her grandparents, and was talking with grandma.
"Grandma, how old are you?" quizzed the little girl. The elderly lady fudged a bit,
as women are apt to do, and said "Thirty-nine, Clara." The young lady looked up at
her grandma questioningly and said, "When you count, do you start at one, Grandma?"
Clara Rose, Duelmaster
SPY REPORT
So why do I have this bag over my head? Because I am The Unknown Spymaster and
I'm going to give you a spy report!. Hey everybody, watch out for ROBERT JOHNSON,
who flew up 13 points in the rankings after mashing FINGERS BROOKE like a melon.
Keep your eye on this guy. Ya know, some days it doesn't pay to walk out on the
sands. FINGERS BROOKE was beat by ROBERT JOHNSON and drops 2 points. Going for the
gusto and coming up with aught but bloody knuckles was BLUVALLEY WARRIORS' ARLENE
ROSS, who was turned away from the Duelmastership by CLARA ROSE. Advice to
bashers--never force anything, just get a bigger halberd!
Let's dig a little deeper into what's happening in the ARDIVENT arena. Here's a
song for you: Who's afraid of the big, bad AZURE CLOUDS? Big bad AZURE CLOUDS. Big
bad AZURE CLOUDS. ARDIVENT's afraid of the big bad AZURE CLOUDS. Tra la la la la!
Okay, so I may not be funny, but catch FANDILS' act in the arena. Those acrobats
seem to be fairly deft at running from AZURE CLOUDS. Well dang howdy, but if
challenges were votes, CORBIN ROSS would be president. Although it may be a contest
he doesn't want to win.
Remember that an arena is not always a safe place to be, but it is one of the
most interesting, though! Yes, and another newbie bites the dust as MILLER goes down
under the sword of TRIA SKATHACH. Thanks to this, TRIA SKATHACH now has 57
recognition points. Big woman! TRIA SKATHACH kills MILLER. Who ya gonna fight
next, TRIA SKATHACH--Minnie Mouse? I hope FANDILS has a good enough fighter to beat
the snot out of TRIA SKATHACH. Remember: alliances are great, but try and take your
ally in the arena with you and see what happens.
Well, that wasn't too bad; Alarond told me that the people in ARDIVENT have no
sense of humor. Or maybe that they were senseless. Well, there goes another Spy
Report. Good luck in next week's fights. Its been real, and its been fun, but it
hasn't been real fun...-- The Unknown Spymaster
