DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Who can win eight DM Titles? I can, that's who! Me, Cantex, the absolutely
mediocre warrior. Yup' that's me!
What can I write that I haven't said seven times before? Perhaps I can explain
what each of The Fandil warrior's names represent? Sure, why not?
Cantex: The name of the company that The Consortium's dad worked at for 30+
years. As a kid, playing in the pipe storage fields and treating a
massive sewer pipe as a house was fun.
U. of E.: University of Evansville Purple Aces, where The Consortium got his
undergrad Engineering and MBA degrees. Did you know that The Consortium
went to school with Jerry Sloan, MBA Hall-Of-Famer?
Jodi-Bodi: The Consortium's first daughter was teased with this name as a child.
Her true name is Jodi Ann.
Billy Boy: What The Consortium and cousins called the hated cousin Billy Purdy as a
child.
Army Hills: A desert, rolling hills-looking Southern Indiana property (hence named)
that The Consortium and cousins played Army or Cowboys and Indians in
their youth. (Quite a while ago!)

SPY REPORT
Welcome ARDIVENT. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights
have I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... What's with CAT
BURGLAR? He actually beat ARDIVENT's FRIENDLY CONSTABLE, and walked away with 14
more points from the fight. Major screwup at FANDILS. ARMY HILLS lost 5 points to
HERETIC. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe ARMY HILLS will provide more easy
wins... Try as he might, M. CHARDINEE wasn't good enough at persuading CANTEX to
step down from the Duelmaster's throne... Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects
to practice on? I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners.
No matter the time or place, men will always duel. The most avoided team was
EXOTIC BLADES. In my day, no team with a 15-11-3 would scare me off! What's the
problem, FANDILS?
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. Do you want the fighters
to walk away, or not? Is it my imagination, or are fighters getting younger every
day? To die so young, so gloriously!
Many other cities have retirement homes for aged warriors. Any plans here?
ARDIVENT is a nice place to live, but I don't like to live in nice places.
