TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Glitter Boy sat upon a wooden stool on stage, wearing his black board shorts,
blue sneakers and white tank top. Both his wrists were adorned with silver chains
that dangled loosely and twinkled in the spotlight centered upon him. Around his
neck was a simple choker of seashells, small and slightly off-white and pink.
Slowly, lazily, he kicked his feet, his low-top shoes revealing no socks beneath
them. His black hair, as always, seemed to defy any real sense of order in a
provocative and wild way, though his unruly locks were longer than when Glitter Boy
was last seen. Here and there, strands of hair fell in front of his eyes, some
strands so long as to tickle the tip of his nose and upper lip. Futiley, Glitter
would puff air through his lips in a vain attempt to control, or at least move, the
offending locks, only to have the same hair fall back into place, often bringing more
hair down, thus making the whole situation worse.
Glitter Boy simply shook his head in frustration and growled slightly. In a
moment he hopped up and smiled that devilish smile of his and spoke in that strange
accent. "Hi there! Been a while since I spoke here. I thought I'd yield the floor
to some other blokes for a while. But I figured now would be a good time to bring
you all this very special team spotlight. It's been a long time coming, so bear with
me while I organize my thoughts."
Glitter began to pace back and forth slowly, mumbling to himself for a short
time before a look of delight touched his tanned face. "AHA!!! Like I said, this is
a very special team spotlight. In fact, so special is it, that it's not really even
about me or my team! Not really, anyway. Yes, yes, I know, I like to beat my own
drum to death. I'm arrogant, so sue me!" *sticks out his tongue and blows a
raspberry*
Glitter slinked back to his stool and hopped up onto it, smiling innocently.
"It took me a long time to put all this into words that you all could understand.
After all, when I get excited, I speak a dialect of English most people can't begin
to comprehend. Anyway, I'd like to say this very simple, but special little
thing.... Oz, Master Darque, on behalf of myslef, my team, Club Fed, and indeed all
of us who fought in this little Turf War, thank you for all of your hard work and
dedication! Because of your self-sacrifice of sanity, blood, sweat and tears, I've
had a great time, and had the opportunity to learn more about this great game.
Because of your hard work, i've met some truly wonderful and great people, and
probably angered just as many, if not more!" *wink and a big toothy grin*
Glitter stood up and walked to the edge of the stage. "Though it is certainly
true that I can be an arrogant, pompous ass, I'd like to put that part of me aside
and say truly, thank you Oz and Master Darque. Again, thank you for everything
you've done. We appreciate it! In fact, what many of you may not know, is that it
was Oz himself who spotted me the certs to fight in this Turf War. I have not
forgotten that. Oz, when I grow up, I owe you a beer. I'd also like to thank Skaven
of the Obsidian Order, who has taught me so much and helped spell check my
disasterous writing. And in true Oz style, I salute Oz and Master Darque. Let's
hear it for Oz and Master Darque for making all this possible!"

SPY REPORT
So why do I have this bag over my head? Because I am The Unknown Spymaster and
I'm going to give you a spy report!. We now have a new top team for all of you guys
to dogpile on. CHEERS now holds the crown and they are betting they can keep it.
Rising in the ranks like a loaf of armored bread (okay, I admit it's corny) is ROYAL
FLUSH, who swept up 13 places in the ranks. Take a look at LES TURFISTES' act, as
they have a 4-1-0 week and gain 14 places in the team ranking. SECOND BANANAS is no
joke as it posted a 3-1-1 week advancing from 18th place to 14th place. Hey
everybody, watch out for DR. COX, who flew up 24 points in the rankings after mashing
THUNDERCRACKER like a melon. Keep your eye on this guy. Ya know, some days it
doesn't pay to walk out on the sands. DING DONG was defeated by HAM BURGLAR and
drops 14 points. It's a proud day for the CHEERS stable, as their warrior, FRASIER,
ascended the Duelmaster's throne. 4 out of 5 gladiators surveyed protect the body,
so try and avoid aiming at that location.
Let's dig a little deeper into what's happening in the NORTH FORK arena. Did
you hear that LAND OF OZ was most avoided team this week? Well, knowing the personal
hygiene of LAND OF OZ's warriors, I'm not surprised! Okay, so I may not be funny,
but catch CHEERS' act in the arena. Those acrobats seem to be fairly deft at running
from LAND OF OZ. Well dang howdy, but if challenges were votes, ZEKE would be
president. Although it may be a contest he doesn't want to win. Was it guts or an
overtaxed mental capacity that had PETIT JARDINIA challenge up 29 points in the
rankings to take on RAVAGE? I don't know about you, but when I saw PETIT JARDINIA
step out on the sands with RAVAGE, I though it was over before it started. Good
upset PETIT JARDINIA! Well, it looks like FENCE wasn't happy with last turn's rank,
so it went for broke by challenging up 31 points. No guts, no glory. This week
FENCE 12-8-0 fought ASTROTRAIN 16-9-0 and in losing gained 2 points. I know several
gladiators who could go for a few fights like that. CAPTURED PORK of SHEWISH BUFFET
had better have a good reason for challenging down 15 points in a challenge which he
won. I thought CAPTURED PORK showed great skill and promise when he beat KILL IT X2.
All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). For those of you who missed it, Death
showed up, grabbed THUNDERCRACKER by the ear and took him away to a place where he
won't need a coat. Well, the arena is no place for slow learners (and hopefully
T.P.s) and BREN DESILVA demonstrated that very violently on OH BOY's body. Well,
just when you thought it was safe to put a new warrior in the arena. No no!
MERCADIO HILDAGO, a mere boy, was slain by REBECCA this turn. Knowing when to use
the right tactics at the proper time is a very important step on the road to
Duelmaster.
Well, there's the manager of the NORTH FORK giving me the 'cut' sign (or is that
'They're going to strangle you in the alley?). Well, there goes another Spy Report.
