Notes from the arena champ.
Ding dong the wicked witch is dead. And alakazam Munchkin id Duelmaster of North Fork.
What glorious news! How wonderful! I'm not gonna say too much 'cause those Groovers
have tapped my phone and have listening devices all over the place. (Especially in all
the lady's rooms.) I would rather keep things private, you know? I will say it was an
honor to follow one of The Royal Flush as Duelmaster. May there be many more for both
our teams.

SPY REPORT
It's me, The Unknown Spymaster here with my bag to give you the news on last
week's fights. We now have a new top team for all of you guys to dogpile on. ROYAL
FLUSH now holds the crown and they are betting they can keep it. For every winner
there is a loser. Speaking of losers, lets take a look at WEIRD ALCHEMY, who went
down to 4th from 9th. Life is tough. Coming up with a solid 3-0-0 outing, LAND OF
OZ has advanced 5 places in the rankings. ROYAL FLUSH is no joke as it posted a
4-1-0 week advancing from 2nd place to 1st place. Hey everybody, watch out for
BUSTED ACES, who flew up 15 points in the rankings after mashing STYLE CHANGER like a
melon. Keep your eye on this guy. Ya know, some days it doesn't pay to walk out on
the sands. STYLE CHANGER was bested by BUSTED ACES and drops 8 points. Unlike most
arenas, MUNCHKIN managed to get his challenge off against the 11-13-4 FRUIT CUP.
Well, everybody's pal MUNCHKIN moved his record to 21-14-0 by defeating FRUIT CUP in
the Duelmaster's Title Bout and gaining 4 recognition points. Can you believe they
are paying me 10 gold to deliver this stuff?
But enough of that bunch, let's get on to the wimps who like to avoid battle!
Did you hear that THE SOVEREIGN was most avoided team this week? Well, knowing the
personal hygiene of THE SOVEREIGN's warriors, I'm not surprised! For those of you
who like math, try this one: THE SOVEREIGN + Weapons That go Boom = ROYAL FLUSH +
Avoid City. And who is this P-NUT FIREBEARD you ask, with 55 points and a 10-14-0
record. Ooh, the tales I could tell! Well, it looks like GLADIUS wasn't happy with
last turn's rank, so he went for broke by challenging up 26 points. No guts, no
glory. This week GLADIUS 8-17-0 fought VESPASIAN 9-6-0 and in losing gained 3
points. I know several gladiators who could go for a few fights like that.
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). HYPER AGGRESSIVE defied all odds and slew
ZORSEA in the Dark Arena. The only ones displeased were the buzzards, as ZORSEA's
meat is notoriously tough. Well, the dead gal SEX (I'M A) just took 80'S DISCO off
hers Christmas card list. The poor gal's bloodfeud just expired with zippo results.
Knowing when to use the right tactics at the proper time is a very important step on
the road to Duelmaster.
Well, that wasn't too bad; Alarond told me that the people in NORTH FORK have no
sense of humor. Or maybe that they were senseless. Well, there goes another Spy

SUMMER FACE-TO-FACE IN ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA
We have planned our summer FTF for July 13-15, 2018, in Arlington, Virginia, only 7
miles on a quick Metro ride from Washington, D.C.!. It will be held at the Holiday
Inn Arlington at Ballston. Room rates are $120 per night on 7/12 and 7/15 and $79 on
7/13 and 7/14, 1-2 occupancy. There's free wireless throughout the property as well
as a fitness center, outdoor pool, and business center, as well as a resturant and bar
inside the hotel. There is no airport shuttle and parking is $7/day. The rooms are
blocked -- ask for the Reality Simulations block. Reservations must be made by 6/12.

NAME CHANGE-O-RAMA
Algernon, who had NOT gotten the name change he'd asked for, looked at the latest
petitioner. This was a typical gladiator, big, muscular, and scarred, with a frown.
"Ah, what can I do for you?"
"Name change. I heard we can do that. I'm tired of being Jane Doe."
"I'd think you would be," Algernon said faintly. "The Commission has actually
been thinking about this. It isn't FREE, mind you! It takes money to run our office,
you know, and we want to buy some goats--"
"I don't care about goats!" He made a crude suggestion about goats.
"Gladiators, teams, it will cost you two dollars to make a change--"
"I had a talk with my manager. He'll find the money. I want to change my name
to Jane Ralph. I'm no doe!" He thumped a fist on the counter.
"Er, yes. Jane Ralph. Fill out this form, please." He pushed the paper across
the counter. "The changes start on the 15th of April--that's the Ides, you know, and
can be submitted through the end of May. With the payment. No change without the
goat, ah, the gold."

Warrior and team name changes will be accepted beginning April 15 and continuing
throughout the month of May. The cost will be $2 per name change. All proceeds will
be used to buy goats via Heifer International and will be matched up to $500.
