Much has changed in NORTH FORK since last I was here. Never fear, Olaf Modeen
adapts to many situations, as do all successful fighters. You know what they say
about the herd of lions who studied a judge... SATAN'S MINIONS moved up 16 places,
to 1st. Who can explain it? Not you, not me, not WEIRD STUDENTS' opponents, after
watching them shoot up the ranks from 21st to 9th. You know what they say about the
herd of lions who studied a judge... SPIRIT'S REALM moved up 11 places, to 11th.
Who can explain it? Not you, not me, not F IS FOR FROG's opponents, after watching
them shoot up the ranks from 27th to 12th. Looking for a good fight, confident,
skilled, tough opponents. Well don't look at LAND OF OZ, cause they dropped by 11.
You know what they say about the herd of lions who studied a judge... ROYAL FLUSH
moved up 14 places, to 16th. Ever take one of those association tests? You know, he
says black, you say white. Water-Lake, Sky-Blue. Try this: Flop. WRATHMEN 6!
DEATHLY HALLOWS bit the big one as they could not win. They dropped from 6th down to
25th! Are you guy giving lessons or what? Some people say I ramble too much, I
don't say anything relevant. I repeat myself. I ramble. Well BIG LAKE GROOVE moved
up 4, to 14th. What's with FRUIT CUP? He actually beat YUPPIE HORDE's BEAST MODE,
and walked away with 25 more points from the fight. Laughs were big at RUBBER SOUL 6
while they watched THE WORD clobber CLAMTASTIC. It lost 14 points and got bruised
from objects thrown from the stands. NORTH FORK has a Duelmaster who doesn't sit
back and get lazy. He challenged FAST FOOD's SLUSH PUPPY (23-11-0), which should
prove (ahem!) interesting. Try as she might, SLUSH PUPPY wasn't good enough at
persuading EAT IT RAW to step down from the Duelmaster's throne... I suppose you
want to hear some rumors and dirty gossip about your fellow fighters? Tough!
No matter the time or place, men will always duel. NORTH FORK thinks BIG LAKE
GROOVE and their 125-97-12 is too much! If at first you don't succeed, give up...
The bums at WHITE WOLVES couldn't face the challenges from BIG LAKE GROOVE! No
excuse for that! How well I know the feeling of being the most challenged warrior,
STYLE EDITOR! Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to haunt you. Taunt your
opponent WHIPPED CREAM! That was my lucky charm when I was unfairly challenged.
(and by 53 points!) MUMMY MUSKETEER should have an easy win. MUMMY MUSKETEER
defeated WHIPPED CREAM. SPECTRAL STEEL calls this fighting? In my day... Fighting
is a better craft than farming, DOC MCSWIFT, but you have to pay your dues. Being
challenged by EN FEUGO, 28 points above you, is dues. EN FEUGO's gonna be practicin'
hard this week, after DOC MCSWIFT, lower ranked by far, mashed him! CRYING KID
expects the easy win by going 19 points down. AMIINANY DANGER will find this a hard
lesson! CRYING KID overcame AMIINANY DANGER. I bet CRYING KID could beat
two-year-olds, too. Well, DEATHLY HALLOWS knows who to set their sights on. Maybe
FRAYED SANITY's BROCK TULGREN is one of those guys who likes pain, or something.
That's what he'll get next week, after challenging up 30 to KIND KOHL. I don't get
it. BROCK TULGREN goes and challenges KIND KOHL, way above him, but gets 2 points
after he loses! Is this a new strategy? Fighting is a better craft than farming,
SLIM SHADY, but you have to pay your dues. Being challenged by SEABLOOM, 21 points
above you, is dues. Just who can SEABLOOM beat? I mean, the last matchup with
lesser-ranked SLIM SHADY shoulda been a piece of cake! Taunt your opponent LINDA
THOMPSON! That was my lucky charm when I was unfairly challenged. (and by 16
points!) TOBIR NUTS should have an easy win. I have to get this off my chest. What
a low dog, TOBIR NUTS! He can't set himself up in a real match. I was sorry to see
LINDA THOMPSON lose. Keep challenging up 28 points, TELLIUS, and I won't have to
write about you much longer. RETURN OF THE KING always accepts those kind of
challenges... As I expected, RETURN OF THE KING won TELLIUS. Not to start anything,
but, TELLIUS, now that you've faced it and seen his style, you might try it again!
Maybe WHITE WOLVES' CARISSIMUS is one of those guys who likes pain, or something.
That's what he'll get next week, after challenging up 26 to JUMPING JOE. CARISSIMUS
found one way to advance: challenging JUMPING JOE and losing, but getting 3 points.
No brain, no pain.
A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters
don't accept this. The best do. FRUIT CUP killed BEAST MODE, and expects revenge
from YUPPIE HORDE. The dead are better off dead--they have no worries. JIMMY
KINGSLEY's family knows what's wot, after seeing the response from MEMPHIS MAFIA!
PUKE was plum wore out after MARATHON MAN pounded 'im silly in a Bloodfeud. SPIRIT'S
REALM'll have to get a little better before going after MARATHON MAN again! How long

In the interest of preserving our natural resources and preventing managerial writer's
cramp, the census form has been eliminated, effective immediately. Managers may
register their warriors' races and/or favorite sayings by simply writing them on a
separate piece of paper and submitting them to the Commission. Each warrior may have
up to 15 favorite sayings. Each saying must be categorized Jeer, Gloat, Boredom, Ouch,
Victory and may be up to 70 characters long. For any questions, please contact the
Gladiatorial Commission.

Our next winter FTF will be held in Tempe, Arizona, January 18-20, 2019. It will be
held at our usual Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Arizona (480-897-7444). Room rates

TEAM AND CHARACTER MAINTENANCE SERVICE
As a service to all managers, we offer team and character maintenance. This
option allows you to make sure your team or selected warriors will never miss a turn!
Team Maintenance: This will cause all warriors on that team to fight every
turn; if it's an AD arena, any new warriors who arrive on that team will
fight the turn they arrive. In A.D. or in transfer arenas where you have
multiple teams, each team will need to separately be on Team Maintenance.
(The only exception is new warriors; they will not fight until they have had
their initial strategy input.)
Character Maintenance: This will cause only that warrior to fight every
turn. If the character graduates or changes arenas, he/she/it will stay on
Character Maintenance.
In either case, you may submit strategy sheets for your warriors each turn, if
you wish. The Team/Character Maintenance will make sure your warriors fight each
turn, and they will always use their most recently entered strategy.
Remember that challenges, avoids, and challenge/if challenged strategies will not
carry through from turn to turn. These sections are only used on the turn they are
entered. In order to continually challenge or avoid you will need to submit a
strategy sheet each time.
One other thing to remember about maintenance: Maintenance is not something
that you write on your turnsheet (like in demo tourneys). In order to add or remove
maintenance for a team or warrior, you must send a note to Customer Service. If you
just write things like this on your strategy sheet, they may or may not get done.
Likewise, don't write it on your personal ads. Please, please, please put it on a
separate piece of paper with "Customer Service" written on the top. If you don't,
well, you can imagine.
