Amplified Classic
Renewing The Mind had earned the right to fight in the Apprentices Tourney by her
come-from-behind victory over The Whippersnapper this past Turn in North Fork Arena,
but she was not quite prepared for the differences in fighting experiences versus the
opponents she was destined to encounter!
Hammer had toyed with the idea of saving her for the Rookies Tourney, but the Veteran
Manager had chosen instead to see if she could survive against more talented fighters
with more fight experience than she had acquired with her first fight in North Fork
Arena.
Her first Tourney Round lasted into the second minute against Desolation of Assassin
Nation from Chivletal Arena 31, ending rather abruptly in the Infirmary, where she
discovered that her insurance policy had lapsed, but at least she survived the
experience!
Round Two was nearly over before it had begun, as Mello Yello of Pop Machine from
Arena 85 dispatched Renewing The Mind to the Infirmary, where she screamed, "I hurt! I
really hurt!"
Her Third Round opponent was also from Arena 85, namely Robert Paulson 778 of Project
Mayhem 362, but although the fight also ended in a first minute defeat, Renewing The
Mind had somehow managed to prevent herself from ending up in the Infirmary!
Therefore, her return to North Fork for her Second Arena Fight scheduled for Turn 421
was one filled with mixed expectations, especially after being humbled in Three
Tourney Fights!
However, there was news of a rumored contest being prepared for North Fork Arena,
namely the Turf War 12, so Renewing The Mind and the rest of her Aberrant 5 Blades
stable mates had only a relatively short time to prepare themselves, including the
possibility of one or two more Tourneys for Renewing The Mind to develop her fighting
techniques!
Plus, there was an old friend that had contacted the Veteran Manager via Chatzy that
had mentioned to Hammer about the possibility of teaming up for the upcoming Turf War!
All the more reason for Renewing The Mind and her stable mates to get down to business
and prepare themselves to become better fighters than they appeared to be!

SPY REPORT
Greetings, warriors of NORTH FORK! Once again I've been called out of
retirement for my abilities and insights into Spyreporting. Woof! WEIRD ALCHEMY
were a bunch of dogs after ABERRANT 5 BLADES got through with 'em! 4th ain't so
sweet as 1st! Phhbltt! Too much drinking and too little dodging gave EL CAMINO:HOT
SAUCE a 0-0-0! I got a good laugh out of it! Up 'n down. Up 'n down. Rankings
always change. Up 'n down. I think I'm gonna be... Well, DOWNWARD SPIRAL's 6th
moved them up to 3-2-0 place. FAST FOOD showed NORTH FORK what they were made of as
they fought with a vengeance to walk off with 3-1-0. What's with BLIZZARD? He
actually beat SATAN'S MINIONS' STOOGE, and walked away with 23 more points from the
fight. Major screwup at ROYAL FLUSH. JACK E. KENNEDY lost 20 points to WENDY. Some
new strategies, perhaps? Maybe JACK E. KENNEDY will provide more easy wins... LAND
OF OZ's hatred of BIG LAKE GROOVE surfaced again as CHINA PRINCESS challenged NORTH
FORK's top dog. I'm sure NORTH FORK is excited about CHINA PRINCESS, the new
Duelmaster from LAND OF OZ. (remember?) But when you've seen as many as I have...
Advice to fighters with a 1 will--give up fighting!
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... The most avoided team
was BIG LAKE GROOVE. In my day, no team with a 180-141-16 would scare me off!
What's the problem, DOWNWARD SPIRAL? What do people see in GALLIENUS? His 15-27-1?
WHOLY ROMAN EMPIRE ain't talkin', but he's got 103 points. PREACH THE GOSPEL of
ABERRANT 5 BLADES knows how to pick 'em. He challenged TRY ONE of WEIRD ALCHEMY who
is up by 22. Now was this a wise move? PREACH THE GOSPEL perhaps got his just
desserts, seeing as he was beat by TRY ONE and ended up with 6 recognition points. I
hate going to the effort of writing about the kind of fights that ADDICTION gets in.
It fights people like WHOPPER, 10 points below. I thought ADDICTION showed great
skill and promise when it was bested by WHOPPER. All right, so I slept through it!
Big deal!
A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters
don't accept this. The best do. DEADLY DESERT looked pretty sick and surprised when
it learned LAND OF OZ is sending it to the Dark Arena! Whadd'it expect with a 7-5-0?
Sending a warrior to the Dark Arena reminds the others they'd better shape up. Tough
beans, OLAF. That's what a 3-8-0 gets you. BAZINGA looked pretty sick and surprised
when it learned RUBBER SOUL 6 is sending it to the Dark Arena! Whadd'it expect with
a 4-7-0? SNOWFLAKE larned his lesson (VICTORIOUS FAITH taught it well), and we right
likely won't be seein' 'im fight any ABERRANT 5 BLADES members with the same gusto.
Here's some advice: study your opponent, master many skills, fight dirty.
Well, I'm pretty much through. You guys need to get back practicing. The end
of another Spyreport! That's cause for celebration in my book! I don't want to

Name Change-o-Rama -- Final Update
The Commission's administrative office on the Isle was in a big square building
that looked like any other administrative office building in any national capital.
Standard, boring. Except for the goats. Half a dozen goats were wandering free,
eating the landscaping, and as many clerks were chasing them. A clerk saw them
coming, he looked like a Trustworthy Scribe, and he rushed over to the approaching
gladiators. "Do you know anything about goats?" He gestured helplessly at the hungry
goats. "They're here because of the Name-Change-o-Rama. We donate them to help change
the world, you know."
The gladiators nodded. They'd heard about it, but hadn't thought it would be so
funny to see. "How did you deal with them last time?"
The clerk made a disgusted gesture. "People came and took them away. But the
people didn't come this time. They sent a message about being quarantined! Aren't we
all? And WE get to work! Goats are not in our job description."
One of the gladiators snorted laughter. "We'll help," he said. "Where do you
want them?"

Embric, relieved that he had not been appointed goat-herder this afternoon,
carefully dipped his pen in ink and began to write. "It is our pleasure and honor

purchased for a copper, you know. The goats are already en route to their new homes,
