It was a good party. Everyone came, and it spilled out of the Red Fish into
Snowbound's central square and oozed into the Bucket of Beer, the Silver Axe, and the
Ice Troll inns as well. Within an hour of sunset, and the sun set very early in
Snowbound at this season, nine-tenths of the population of the town was involved in
the party, and more revelers were pouring in from the countryside around.
On a table in the Silver Axe, Telgas Falgarsson, the Not-From-Khalhums Dwarf,
was declaiming a long poem in Dwarvish. Nobody was listening, but he didn't seem to
mind. At least, until other Dwarves, led by Super Grover of Open Sesame, climbed
onto the bar of that establishment and began roaring out a competing ditty, complete
with flying axes.
In a corner at the back of the Red Fish, the Karnhorn Deserter, Karzanj, was
explaining to anyone who would listen what was wrong with Kurukar and why that city
should be attacked by all right-thinking people. Until Arlen Abeli of the Middle Way
came along and hit him over the head with a stein.
In the middle of the town square, Lorus Long-Oars, the Ambitious Guard, was
demonstrating the use of an oar as a substitute for a quarterstaff; Dagrum One-Leg,
the Persistent Beggar, was getting the worst of the encounter.
Less obtrusive were the people who were merely drinking and singing, even the
ones who couldn't carry a tune with a wheelbarrow, and this included most of the
gladiators from Snowbound's arena, and a large portion of the fishermen who sailed
out of Snowbound's harbor, as well as most of the hunters and trappers from inland.
Someone (suspicion fell on the Userous Merchant) caused two oxen to be butchered
and set to roasting on the town square, which everyone agreed was a good idea,
although it might have been better if he'd owned the oxen himself, or at least asked
permission first. Someone else, not yet identified, although the owner of the
slaughtered oxen came under suspicion, decided that the night would be improved by
fireworks, and promptly set fire to the Userous Merchant's shop, which stood next to
the Bucket of Beer.
And a fine time was had by all.

SPY REPORT
Greetings warriors! It is I, Zontani Sharp Eyes, here to bring report of the
clash and bustle of the weekly SNOWBOUND games. Warriors--remember that glory waits
always around the corner! Witness how this week OPEN SESAME went 3-2-0 to move up 3
in the rankings. My praise to DRUID'S GROVE for their 4-1-1 week this time out.
Indeed, it was a skillfully fought round deserving of notice! HOLLAN INNIS caught
the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested EXISTENTIAL
BLUES and was awarded 16 points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable
duels, HOLLAN INNIS put down EXISTENTIAL BLUES, causing him to lose 16 points of
recognition in the process. This time out VANWAFEA made hers bid for the throne as
she challenged TOM SMITH DISEASE in an all out contest of skill for possession of the
title! Although VANWAFEA made a valiant effort, it did not suffice to topple the
reign of victorious TOM SMITH DISEASE. No confirmation, but my sources claim that
the top team has gained their position using magical aids. Charmed weapons perhaps?
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city SNOWBOUND. I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when this week's
challenge seeking began. DRUID'S GROVE is feared. This much I can say. Methinks
more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the better part of last
week avoiding DRUID'S GROVE. Indeed it was OPEN SESAME. Mighty fighters cannot but
expect competition from those below. ORION GRIMM take warning! You have more than a
few enemies in SNOWBOUND.
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers
the miserable with fortune but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember this!
The girls are as pretty in SNOWBOUND as ever I remembered them....and the
fighters as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! More than a sharp eye must I
keep, indeed a stout pair of legs must I keep as well! The endless paths of Alastari

Youngblood's Three and Out Contest
I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what
I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before,
here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a
chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see
fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules
(like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later).
1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only.
2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.)
3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts.
4. All warriors will run until they lose three times, after three losses they are
eliminated.
5. If a warrior sits out a turn, they are accounted with a loss in the contest.
This is to keep warriors with winning records from sitting out until the end of
the contest.
6. If a warrior is killed during the contest, the replacement cannot enter the
contest.
7. If a warrior is killed, bloodfeuding is allowed, but only by a warrior that is
active in the contest.
8. If a warrior is run after being eliminated, the manager is disqualified from the
contest, no questions asked.
9. Challenges are legal, up or down.
10. Contest will keep going until 1 warrior is left without three losses, and that
warrior, of course, is accounted the winner.
11. All managers participating will be asked to purchase a rollup certificate, to be
awarded to the winners of the contest.

As I have already said, and according to participation, rollups will be awarded
to the first and second place managers. So the majority and minority of the rollups
will be determined when all are accumulated.
